What happen to the new line of speakers from infinity? They should show other speaker company, what music should sound like. Ive had the Kappa9 and the 2.5.
@MrTonyFarrar Thanks for your comment. I'm glad to find another Infinity Guy. Me ,too love Old Infinity especially Infinitesimal. These are very expensive here in Japan.
@TrueHifiQuality "Your Planet is really excellent." is correct. I know you are 24, I saw your profile. I’m 54. In the movie of Nmode amp to which you gave your comment, I was using Mozart’s Symphony no 40. And you asked me who's playing. So I made a comment in this movie IRS-Omega, " Your ♯40 is excellent" wrongly ,altough in your video, you used The Planet, sorry.
Hi again,I'm the Gladiator guy...inspired by you I've just uploaded a video with the same music,Jupiter from the Planets, conducted by jose serebrier.I wish you'll accept also this.thank a lot and greetings from Italy!
@aldave Thank you for your comment, as you say, AR was once an audio giant that produced very excellent speakers like AR 3a or LST those were used by Mark Levinson before he used JBL 4343 monitor speakers. We can't find good conditioned 3a or LST now. It is so sad.
To see what Infinity once was, and to look at what they are now.... It's sad. The "life-style" speaker has killed the audiophile soul that was once so previlant in speakers like Infinity (and others). I'd love to hear these in person, especially driven by McIntosh & Isoteric gear.
@BrickVanderhuge Thanks for your comment, and I totally agree with you. Though I have never heard the sound of IRS-V, Beta, Gamma, Epsilon, Sigma, larger speakers, I can easily imagine how wonderful those speakers were, when I listen to these smallest Omega. Those were the days・・
@stoneeh Thanks for your comment and high evaluation. Kappa90 is also very popular and has high potential, I think. It barely appears in the audio marcket, because nobody sells it.
the kappa x0 (70, 80, 90 and 100) werent sold that often. in ebay you come across the old kappas like 8, 9 and 8.2i and 9.2i a lot more often. even the renaissance 90 is sold more often than the kappa 90
the kappa 90 plays well, and loud, especially the bass, but i think the omega would have a much better midrange, and cleaner bass. i think i will try out a renaissance 90 soon to find out how much difference the HE-EMIT and EMIM really make
Wow, i think they must sound awesome. I've got some Infinity Kappa 8.2i (same Size as the Omegas), and i love the Sound of the EMIT-R and the Polydome. I Think the omegas are a more expensive version of the 8.2i. They truely must sound awesome:-)
@Vicejerri thanks for your comment, also in Japan Infinity Kappa 8.2i has a very high reputation, and right after someone posted their photos for sale, I notice they're already sold. They are also 4 way speakers as well as Omega and with EMIT-R, and big woofers, the performance is excellent. When I'm listening Beyonce's number "Naughty Girl", the Bass is incredibly strong, so I am concerned about neighbors' complaints about the sound especially late at night.
@sthsbisthe Here in germany it is more... uhm, you love these speakers or you hate them. Because many people here don't like the strong upper bass, which is normal for a american speaker.
I like them especially because the strong, but not colored mids. Thats awesome for 80s Hardrock and metal, and rock in general.
"which is normal for a american speaker" Ahh, yes I also some people post such a video like big woofer is moving clearlyloudly . I don't like that kind of videos. I like all the units of Infinitys, but basic part of music is Mid as you say,it is the most important part of music. And with Infinity, you can hear around 25herts bass of Pipe Organs. I posted it in "My listening room" using Bach, but in you tube we can't hear.
Infinity IRS Omega, Fantastiche!! Con tweeter planare EMIT, un secondo tweeter EMIT rotondo posteriore, un midragne EMIM planare, 1 midwoofer da 17 cm e un woofer Watkins da 30 cm in basso... realizzati come una opera d'arte e 55 kg.. cosa dire? un diffusore fantastico di una leggendaria casa costruttrice, la americana INFINITY...complimenti signor audiofilo se li tenga stretti quei 2 diffusori!
I could know that you posted a good comment about my IRS-Omega and its speaker units, although I dont understand Italian language^^); Especially as you pointed out, Watkins woofer is incredibly nice when I take its size into account. EMIT&EMIM are also good for classical music.
Yes i agree .. IRS Omega loudspeaker is a really superb .. the fantastic watkins woofers and tweeters and midrange units that sound really touching .. INFINITY unfortunately no longer producing these works of art, now has become a home business, with speakers that have been standardized to others .. at the end I told her to "keep them close" its IRS Omega ... greetings from a friend Italian audiophile
(I apologize for my English a bit "Latinized" ^ ^)
@Tatsunoko77 I man left infinity a long time ago to build a new speaker Same thing will happen to Krell amps that the guy D.A, sold the company, I dont know any company thats stays on top after its sold martin logan? to many for me to name mark levenision ?
these must be lovely speakers., i love my infinity renaissance 80. your omegas would be a perfect stepup, i cant believe that someone would judge the sound through youtube...this is ridicoulous, emit and enim drivers combinated with mac gear are absolutely perfect!!! great speakers..
Thank you for your comment, Mr. rainofflesh. I feel happy I could have a comment like this that is of another Infinity user, because only Infinity users can evaluate the performance of these speakers. Im talking about the speakers made for pure audiopurpose.Renaissance 80 also have very high performance with emit and enim drivers, I can easily imagine. In my another video, sb is talking bad about Infinity speakers, but I think he just doesnt know the sound from renaissance, Kappa, IRS series.
i have listened ALL kind of speakers .. the years of Highend Hobby Living, i owned Legends like the NS 1000 Monitor and Genesis Model III.I also Heard topmodels from B&W JBL,Harbeth, ..and many many others,
I would say.i have a wide variety of listening experience firsthand, ..There are some great speakers out there, .t the "old" infinities with those EMIT and ENIM drivers are definetly amongst them, and are competing with everything there is today
Oh, Ive just surprised to hear you also had Yamaha NS 1000 Monitor, I had that speaker, too. After using NS 1000 Monitor, I bought ALTEC A-7 the theater speakers to put them into very very narrow room, but they also gave me wonderful sound. Especially they were nice for Jazz. But Infinity speakers invite me to the paradise in listening to every kind of music.
The NS-1000M was fantastic but required the gear to be up to par. I think if they were to make a rendition of that speaker it would be quite startling. Hard to believe that speaker was made to be affordable by anyone and yet performed so well with its design limitations.
So sad? I think Jupiter is not a sad part of The Planet, but it surely has a profound sound, so maybe almost the similar feeling as you have? Thanks for your comment.
This piece sounds way better in the Martin Logan CLSIIz YouTube video... Infinity's are so bright & boomy. No good speakers ever came from the West Coast!
OMG,Mr.Richardfckr1979, I totally misunderstood the meaning of your comment, I must apologize to you. I took it as an opposite meaning. I must study English harder.
i bought a pair of infinity IRS omega 1 week ago!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a lovely speaker, great, absolutely
