Secondly history does not really have an evidence of jesus's existence. go read about it.

Perhaps you need to read a little more than re-hashed xian books. Most contemporary historians don't think Jesus existed. There is nothing in secular or extra-religious writings at the time of his supposed life to confirm he was real. Which puts him up there with Xenu - the books says he was real, but no-one else does. To you, that means he is real.

Perhaps we didn't read the same book - the one I read by Michael Grant argued for JC existence but made no such claims about "more than Socrates etc" There is a bomb of evidence for Socrates, including HIS OWN WRITINGS.
Even if JC existed, he personally wrote nothing, nor his followers (gospels are NOT eyewitness), and it certainly does not confirm any "miracles" as told in the NT.

There are no known writings of Socrates. We learn about Socrates through the writings of his students, such as Plato. Maybe you should read up on Socrates before writing about him? Furthermore, when you actually take the time out to read the gospel of Luke you will be able to see that it was written by an eye witness. As you have plainly shown here, you have an axe to grind just like most people and none of this is about truth. End of story, good night.

Stripedchair - thank you for your patronising comment about reading the gospel of Luke, but I have actually read the bible right through cover to cover, and Luke says in chapter one vs1-3, that he was not there, but determined to investigate to report to Theophilus.
So perhaps you would like to read your bible before you write about it?

He talks about Christ and the early christian community. He lived in the first century. As far as the Bible is concerned, I meant to say the book that Apostle Peter wrote has his testimony of being an eyewitness.

There are many many other things we could explore on this topic as well, ..all I am saying is that it's a bit over the top to claim that Jesus did not exist, especially considering the historical writings that indicate that he did. what historical writings are these? there is no mention of christ in any other historical and literal writing besides the Bible. The only mention of him is breif text by the Roman consul to Jews Josefus in the time of christ, but Josefus was known to lie alot.
