  • por favor traduzcan al castellano todas las partes de la entrevista, si pueden claro

    saludos

  • If all people in transition would tomorrow morning say "Okay, Gary Francione says there's no difference with what I do and pure meat eating, then I'll go back the way I were", I think you would say "wait a minute".

By the way, it's thanks to PETA if my eating animal products is reduced to a cube of cheddar once in a while. Actually it's because of someone who "denounced" you that I now know you. There's no bad publicity. I like to listen to you. I especially appreciated your comments on sexism.

  • About vegetarianism as a gateway to veganism

There might not be a difference between eating meat and animal-based products but there's certainly one in terms of quantity when one goes from meat eating to veggie diet then to veganism. There's certainly a difference between the sufferance I used to impose on animals when I was a meat eater and that of today with my little cube of cheddar I use in my sauce on my broccoli.

  • I understand that your point of view is partly strategic to put pressure on people psychologically to become vegan. You really love animals--I do too. I think you're bluffing a little. I think that you know that vegetarianism can really be used as a gateway to veganism. Gary Steiner, a discussion with whom we can listen to on your site, says himself that he has been veggie for 15 years before becoming vegan.

  • I think you would find that Steiner would disagree with you. He probably did not realise at the time when he was vegetarian, the harm and murder by the dairy and egg industry. Consider googling "What's wrong with Vegetarianism? Dan Cudahy Unpopular Vegan Essays" . It's a good essay which will explain the many issues.

  • I've never for one moment in my life thought that any animal was not self aware in exactly the way that we are.

Who is to say that because they think differently that other animals are beneath us. Many have other skills and abilities which far exceed ours. I've seen many other animals performing acts of great compassion: adopting other species, rescuing humans in difficulty, etc.

  • dude, buy yourself some decent equipment! i am not only speaking of the visual quality, but also about the microphone! very interesting discussion, though..

  • Any suggestions kulturfenster? ;-)

  • no, not at all, sorry!

  • Thank you for posting this. Very interesting and informative.

  • I don't know whether animals have an interest in continuing to live or not. I assume they do, but either way it is not for me to decide. They live, think and feel and as such have a right to life. Every living being has a right to life and for human beings to not respect that right to life is just immoral.

I am looking forward to part 3!
