@IPYES generally for flat out acceleration you can just slot into the next gear without using the clutch, they shift very fast! its an amazing feeling!

I believe the GSXR K5 was one of the best bikes built , the GSXR thou' would would eat a busa up to 240kph though :) those big 1300cc bikes are just missles and thats it.
Actually the big GSXR will beat a Busa from a roll up to the electronic limiter. The Busa's main advantage is right off the line. Check out the results in the 0-180mph test in the June (?) 2008 Cycle World. The ZX-14 wasn't even close. The ZX10 was the quickest - it beat the ZX14 from 0-180mph by 2 seconds.

a car that cost about £100.000 vs a £7.000 bike. not really that fair. especially that the car has been tuned so your talking atleast £130.000. and a £7.000 bike nuked it to the bikes LIMITED top speed. besides any clown can drive fast in a straightline. its weather you got the skills and balls for the corners. however i prefer bikes. cars are simply to much money to make fast.

yeah the gsxr1000 needs a g-pack module to remove the factory restrictions that are in the electric system which limit the top speed at around 186mph..but hell yeah turbo the bad boy as well..look up ghostrider turbo busa..
You should get a real rider of the bike, and a real mooded K5+. Just the position of the rider makes the bike goes way slower. I have a mooded K5 and have eaten several 700 hp cars. this bikes are restricted you need a tre to pass the restriction
Do you guys know how the manufacturers restrict their bikes to 186mph? Believe it or not they actually play with the gearbox ratios and final drive according to the bike's torque and hp output. This accounts for more than 70% of the 186mph limiter... want a higher top speed? change the gearbox ratios...

Well, i have a k8 and it could really do a true 185mph... now that i have a full system, a high flow airfilter and a pc3 with matching sprockets, i can do a true 197mph... not really busting my bank account...
Actually, this is not exactly true. I have a 2006 and I've done the following mods: custom cams, port/polished head, cam gears, thin head gasket, full Yoshimura race exhaust, custom tune and lowered 1". It went from 151 rwhp to 183 rwhp. I think it will be able to hit 200mph. But it does need some work to do it. A 700hp 996 should be able to go +215mph. Bikes can't really compete with very high hp cars on the top end because they just don't have the aerodynamics.
Do you know what you should do, alter the gear ratio on the last 2 gears, it adds a lot of top speed, i know a guy who has a busa that can hit 250mph in 1 mile and it's not far from stock, i'll try to find the vid, it's on youtube somewhere, but it you tune it right it can easilly be done. There's a vid on how to tune it right i'll try to find it for you.
Do a search for Charlie Anstaett's 2004 Hayabusa. He holds the record at the Maxton Mile, where he reached 256.79mph. His bike has custom rods, pistons and a big turbo kit, not to mention the stand alone engine management and a 4" extended swingarm plus lots of other stuff. His bike has put down 636rwhp. A stock Hayabus puts down about 155 rwhp. So his bike has 4 TIMES more power than a stock 'Busa. Dude, a stock 'Busa MIGHT hit 190mph in the standing mile. That's it.
Check out SportRider Magazine October 2001 issue. They deristricted a Hayabusa and changed the gearing. The best they could do was 192.4 mph - and that wasn't a standing mile, that was absolute top speed. The June 2000 edition of Cycle World had a test too, and the Hayabus did 191 mph in that test, again, that is the absolute top speed.
The reason why he might get a indicated 250 is because changing the front/back sprockets throws the speedo off like crazy, i seen a vid of a zx6r with 1- 5+, his speedo at the end of the qm was something like 175-180, his actual trap speed was 136.
Yeah i don't think it was read wrong because there was a whole team measuring he's speed and everything, just like that guy has all this stuff built into he's tail unit to measure he's speed he had that too, i dunno it could be off but i doubt it. Iv'e been trying to find the vid but i dunno where it is, i'll keep searching :D.
You said the guy you know has a busa that is not far from stock and hits 250 mph, that would take a complete engine rebuild and a nice sized turbo + possibly a progressive nitrous set up.
It's not got nitrous, it's tuned a lot and it has got a turbo, i think the only mods are, gears, turbo, j&e pistons, racing cams and a port & polished head. Oh and sprockets.
You measured from the crank? and how many lbs of boost, what sized turbo, and did you change the rotating assembly?(or maybe just new turbo/nitrous pistons, and rods)Are you running a bazzazz or pcIII? And you must be running a very conservative tune, 205 in a zx12r with a turbo is not that much hp for the set up, should be able to get 30-40 more hp easily.
Yeah i know man, it's not far from standard, the turbo isn't making much psi and it's not a big performance turbo, it's just a cheapish one cost me £500 on ebay alltogether (not including headers and fitting) :D it was measured to the rear wheel, i think it has new pistons polished head, racing cams, new air filter and obviously an aftermarket can. Dunno if anything else has been done to it, there was bits n bats. It was all done for me off my buddy.

Wow that sucks with the PCIII I pegged out the factory spedo at 184 but the R kept rising I hit 10500 in 6th on my 05 CBR1000RR I would say I was close to 200. but you need to understand that the Porsche had a more accurate reading than the bike did. any bike can be off up to 20 mph on a speedo to actuale velocity of the bike. Of course most good riders know this and dont boast about how fast they have ridden but instead of how fast there time was. and also was that 180CHP or BHP.

Its quicker to shift up if your gunning it. However you dont do it on downshifts as it rags the gearbox and feels jerky as fook. I do clutchless up shifts because im lazy.
You don't need the clutch at high RPMs in fact, you can switch gears at low RPMs without using the clutch you just have to match the speed of the bike with the proper gear and delicate shifting.
700 g-gies verses a stock bike, bike ftw.

a car that cost about £100.000 vs a £7.000 bike. not really that fair. especially that the car has been tuned so your talking atleast £130.000. and a £7.000 bike nuked it to the bikes LIMITED top speed. besides any clown can drive fast in a straightline. its weather you got the skills and balls for the corners. however i prefer bikes. cars are simply to much money to make fast.

trying to take on a high perfortmance car at hgh speed roll on and top end speeds as a different matter.car engine size+aerodynamics give it a hell of an advantage.Here a Busa or the Kawasaki 1400 would have stomped that Poersche easy.The Gixxer as one can see gave it a good run for the money.Good rider good shifting.

yeah the gsxr1000 needs a g-pack module to remove the factory restrictions that are in the electric system which limit the top speed at around 186mph..but hell yeah turbo the bad boy as well..look up ghostrider turbo busa..

You should get a real rider of the bike, and a real mooded K5+. Just the position of the rider makes the bike goes way slower. I have a mooded K5 and have eaten several 700 hp cars. this bikes are restricted you need a tre to pass the restriction

Do you guys know how the manufacturers restrict their bikes to 186mph? Believe it or not they actually play with the gearbox ratios and final drive according to the bike's torque and hp output. This accounts for more than 70% of the 186mph limiter... want a higher top speed? change the gearbox ratios...

Actually, this is not exactly true. I have a 2006 and I've done the following mods: custom cams, port/polished head, cam gears, thin head gasket, full Yoshimura race exhaust, custom tune and lowered 1". It went from 151 rwhp to 183 rwhp. I think it will be able to hit 200mph. But it does need some work to do it. A 700hp 996 should be able to go +215mph. Bikes can't really compete with very high hp cars on the top end because they just don't have the aerodynamics.

Do you know what you should do, alter the gear ratio on the last 2 gears, it adds a lot of top speed, i know a guy who has a busa that can hit 250mph in 1 mile and it's not far from stock, i'll try to find the vid, it's on youtube somewhere, but it you tune it right it can easilly be done. There's a vid on how to tune it right i'll try to find it for you.

Do a search for Charlie Anstaett's 2004 Hayabusa. He holds the record at the Maxton Mile, where he reached 256.79mph. His bike has custom rods, pistons and a big turbo kit, not to mention the stand alone engine management and a 4" extended swingarm plus lots of other stuff. His bike has put down 636rwhp. A stock Hayabus puts down about 155 rwhp. So his bike has 4 TIMES more power than a stock 'Busa. Dude, a stock 'Busa MIGHT hit 190mph in the standing mile. That's it.

Check out SportRider Magazine October 2001 issue. They deristricted a Hayabusa and changed the gearing. The best they could do was 192.4 mph - and that wasn't a standing mile, that was absolute top speed. The June 2000 edition of Cycle World had a test too, and the Hayabus did 191 mph in that test, again, that is the absolute top speed.

The reason why he might get a indicated 250 is because changing the front/back sprockets throws the speedo off like crazy, i seen a vid of a zx6r with 1- 5+, his speedo at the end of the qm was something like 175-180, his actual trap speed was 136.

Yeah i don't think it was read wrong because there was a whole team measuring he's speed and everything, just like that guy has all this stuff built into he's tail unit to measure he's speed he had that too, i dunno it could be off but i doubt it. It's not got nitrous, it's tuned a lot and it has got a turbo, i think the only mods are, gears, turbo, j&e pistons, racing cams and a port & polished head. Oh and sprockets.

You measured from the crank? and how many lbs of boost, what sized turbo, and did you change the rotating assembly?(or maybe just new turbo/nitrous pistons, and rods)Are you running a bazzazz or pcIII? And you must be running a very conservative tune, 205 in a zx12r with a turbo is not that much hp for the set up, should be able to get 30-40 more hp easily.

Yeah i know man, it's not far from standard, the turbo isn't making much psi and it's not a big performance turbo, it's just a cheapish one cost me £500 on ebay alltogether (not including headers and fitting) :D it was measured to the rear wheel, i think it has new pistons polished head, racing cams, new air filter and obviously an aftermarket can. Dunno if anything else has been done to it, there was bits n bats. It was all done for me off my buddy.

Wow that sucks with the PCIII I pegged out the factory spedo at 184 but the R kept rising I hit 10500 in 6th on my 05 CBR1000RR I would say I was close to 200. but you need to understand that the Porsche had a more accurate reading than the bike did. any bike can be off up to 20 mph on a speedo to actuale velocity of the bike. Of course most good riders know this and dont boast about how fast they have ridden but instead of how fast there time was. and also was that 180CHP or BHP.

Its quicker to shift up if your gunning it. However you dont do it on downshifts as it rags the gearbox and feels jerky as fook. I do clutchless up shifts because im lazy.

You don't need the clutch at high RPMs in fact, you can switch gears at low RPMs without using the clutch you just have to match the speed of the bike with the proper gear and delicate shifting.
