if you use a guitar hero controller just hold down the red fret and press the yellow, while completely ignoring the green notes (this is on the first zig zags). If you do this well, then you will actually move up on the meter. If you can even make it to this part of the song, then you are definitely good enough at the game, and should have no problems doing this at all.

I had totally forgot about this video lol, I kept trying at the solo and I've finally managed to get through the song :D

I placed my index finger on red and middle finger on yellow. While strumming everything I would lift my middle, slide the whole hand down to green so the index was on green then slide back up to red and place my middle on yellow. Its kinda hard to do when you start but after some practice its doable. I saved my overdrive for as long as possible (around half way to three ...

... quaters of the way through) then used it. As long as you have a full bar of overdrive it will last up to thenext point where you get some. Wammy on these and if you're lucky the overdrive will keep going into around half way through the next batch of threes (red, yellow, blue). Then for the final lot of fours (orange to red and blue to green) its childs play :)

Hope this helps all thoes in a similar situation to me.

Well, you need to strum on notes that aren't hammer-on's or pull-off's.

And since you are also using the bottom frets, that essentially acts like a strum so you can use the top frets without strumming.

When I first came up with this method it took me a few days to be able to do it well.

Of course it'll be different for you, it may take you a week, it may only take you 10 minutes.

RB guitars suck SOOOOOOO bad...... rock badn just put added in game benefits to make ppl buy it like being able to not pick notes in solos and effects. frets are pieces of shit, huge, hard to push in, and hard to slide your fingers on. the wammy bar sucks worse than a fucking GH2 wammy. the strum bar is gay at fast picking and the fact that it feels like ur not pushing anything is distrating and the strum bar breaks easy. only upside is silent picking.

All I can recommend is to practice, or come up with another method that is easier for you.

That second sweep is the same speed as the first though.

You can always just use the top frets and FC it with your index and middle finger that's what I do for both of the triplets. Infact my right hand never leaves the strumbar (expert for whammy) when I play this song.

I actually created my own method for section m. It's basicly a simplified version of yours. I discovered that since the notes are so close together, I can use your method but tap the orange and the blue at the same time and for some reason it lands them both if your timings good.

You don't need to be fast, just have good timing.

Really, if you keep practicing I'm sure you can get it. Or maybe this method just isn't going to work for you, everyone's different.

Try coming up with a different way to tap the notes, I came up with this one day while I was driving to Oregon and I didn't have my stuff so I couldn't test it until a week later.

It took me a while, but I got it, so I'm sure you'll be able to.

Just one critique: At the end of the solo, for the orange-blue-yellow sequence, why tap the yellow fret? You can just hold it down for the same effect and it's less for you to screw up on. Then you'll just need to tap orange and blue in rhythm. Which is quite easy. Other then that great video.

the way i do the end with the orange blue yellow is just use the top buttons not my pinks with index finger on yellow keep that held down and just do orange blue real quick, i was doing it without holding yellow down for a while and it is so much easier holding it down

I had to practice for a few days before I could do 100% almost every time. I still mess up sometimes, but since your using the bottom frets and don't have to strum, you can recover easily.

As for Disturbed, I was thinking of the solo for Inside the Fire, but if anyone has any requests, I'd be happy to help.

(As a side note, I can finally get 100% on the beginning of Through the Fire and Flames)

If you mean you need help switching your fingers from top to bottom and vice-versa, you just have to keep doing it over and over again. Thats how I got it, and it'll help later with other songs that require you to go rapidly from top frets into the bottom frets for a solo.

As for Thrasher, I don't really like that kind of music, and listening to the preview, I've already RMA'd one guitar, I don't know if I wanna break another.

I'll check it on a video though, if it looks fun, then maybe.

It's a very good technique. I came up with a similar thing once I failed that song the first time. One thing that may make it easier, is that you don't need to keep tapping the lowest note, just hold it down, like just hold green on the first set of zig-zags.
