Originally telecast on May 22, 1952, and adapted from a February 14, 1952 radio episode. Vic Perrin, a charter member of Jack Webb's "stock company" of actors on radio and TV, appears as "Garvey" [he was later the "Control Voice" on "THE OUTER LIMITS"; "no talent", 'rgalia'?]. Barney Phillips would be dropped at the end of the season as "Officer Ed Jacobs" because he sounded too similar to Webb.
7:51 is a subtle reminder of the series' original sponsor- Liggett & Myers' Chesterfield.

Dragnet filled a real niche in Hollywood, it employed more no talent actors than any other show on T.V.
