Not a lot of people know this, but the movie was actually based on a true story that was published as a book entitled "Gold Is Where You Dig It"; an account of a small unit of the US Army that indeed did try to knock over a Nazi bank behind enemy lines; however, the author has never disclosed the fact if any gold was actually stolen. I mean....would you!!
All star movie characters..."Harry Callahan","Kojak",that guy from the 1995 movie "Casino","Major General" from the '95 movie "OutBreak",and "Brett" from the movie "Alien",starring in...
Yeah, reviewing the episodes jogged my memory. This really was nothing more than a hippie flick attempting to give them a status in the greatest test of American will to destroy a world threat.
good, not great movie. Clint was pissed off that original director, Don Siegel, couldn't make this one. Donald Sutherland hippie was best part of the movie. Film must hold the record for greatest number of on-screen explosions.
Great movie! The Shermans are authentic, but does any one know if the Tigers are? Could they be modified t-34's? If anybody knows, please advise. Thanks!
The Tigers were built upon T-34 lower chassis. Custom job by the Yugoslavian Army for an earlier movie about the Yugos on the East Front. They just happened to be there when they filmed Kelly's Heroes.
I used to think this movie was filmed in Croatia. But, another fellow said it was filmed in Serbia. Which of the former united Yugoslavian Republic's was it?...........
Great damn trailer!! I hope to meet ol'" Don Rickles" one of these days soon. I truly hope to see "Conan" have him on as often as Jay Leno did on "The Tonight Show". I've always liked his in your face, sarcastic as hell, give you a bad time humor!!
Carroll O'Connor is also great in this movie: "This man is a born loser. And yet you guys have not buried him yet. And you call yourselves leaders of men?"
lol scinse im watching this trailer i think im gonna buy this film lol, i have it already, i wonder what its like lol, i wonder if its different than all the other 100 times ive watched it, still its a great movie
Thats what I think too man! It's all about the gold! And A thing I think they took from Kelly's Heroes is music in the cars, like how Oddball plays music during battle! Great movie and Great Game.
thats really silly.....i thought the idea was brilliant....mixing modern war with an adventure plot....it reminded me of this movie right of the bat...nice way to remember the real old Hollywood when it wasn't pussified.
bad company is actually an almost carbonite copy of 3 kings a shitty remake of this movie b company and 3 kings stole the storylne and they both sucked
Another underrated Clint Eastwood film was Coogan's Bluff. (fantastic movie!) Made in 1968, with Susan Clark, Lee J. Cobb and Don Stroud. That and Kelly's Heroes, Dirty Harry and The Outlaw Josie Wales are my all time favorites. If you haven't seen Coogan's Bluff, you owe it to yourselves to get the DVD.
Just genius. Absolutely love this film. Lalo Schifrin's score is fantastic. Script is great. Actors priceless. Eastwood has stated that this might have been an all-time classic but for mistakes made in post-production. To me, it still is.
This is one of the best ww2 movies of all time! :D I've seen it like a million times but I never het tired of it! Donald Sutherland is fantastic in this film!
watch for the scene where Kelly pulls up in the jeep to talk to Big Joe......there's a guy on Eastwood's left in a blue pin stripe shirt.....ooooops! we missed that one!
I agree.. Where Eagles Dare and Kelly's Heroes.. Definitely two very underrated movies that deserve more attention.. I must say though I LMAO at this one
Where Eagles Dare and Kelly's Heroes. Probably my two favourite movies AND Soundtracks. P.S. Telly Savalas "What gold"? cuts to Telly's brother George, who played Stavros in Kojak. (You probably all knew that anyway)heh heh...
An often overlooked and underrated movie. Classic. Great performances, great script. One of my favorites of all time. Burning Bridges was by the Mike Curb Congregation.
this is a good trailer but i think it should have that "burning bridges" song that would be good! every time i watch this film i end up sing that all day!
