  • 0 dislikes....That's good...I mean,who would dislike this =)

  • @CarolAnnePoltergeist thanks for remind me

  • oh damn, Tony was both beautiful and handsome, not many men can pull that off! Other actors of his generation Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, James Dean for example were great actors and goodlooking too, but....I gotta admit that I got an extra soft spot for mr curtis, he was so funny and charismatic! Wouldn´t mind to had been kissed by those soft lips and looking into those gorgeous eyes of his!!lol

  • There was kissing prior to where you begin this clip. I just saw the movie last night with a full audience, and there was a great intake of breath before this scene began...I wonder why?

  • in real life, Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe hated each other. She was trying to pull off his toupe a little bit when she grabbed his hair, apparently. :P

  • one of the best dancing scenes from the history of cinematography

  • @nakash89 ... ?

  • @samwestonc

    wha ?

  • la mejor escena EVER! jakaja no paro de reir

  • @LFCMattNOI Since nobody told me,I had to do a bit of research...The song is called "Stairway to the stars", a classic of the Swing years. There are a number of renditions on youtube.Enjoy!

  • Can anybody tell me the name of the song playing on the radio at the start ? Not the tango !

  • Comment removed

  • All the bull-shits that Tony Curtis says to her!!!! And his accent! Fantastico

  • God, Junior's accent annoyed me. I love how Jerry called him on it.

  • @simolionshane. It's called "La Cumparsita".

  • What's the name of the song playing on the radio while Marilyn and Tony are kissing each other?

  • i love how at first its serious with Sugar(Marilyn Monroe) and Tony Curtis

  • what's the name of the tango?

  • My fav scene from the whole movie.

  • Billy Wilder was simply the finest director working in hollywood. Even Huston could not hold a candle to Wilder. And Sunset Boulevard is probably the best hollywood (or anti-hollywood) film ever made. Period.

  • @tool619 "Audiences don't know somebody sits down and writes a picture; they think the actors make it up as they go along." Great time in cinema.

  • Daphne, you´re leading again! -.-

  • im here for Marilyn Monroe. About 50 years later she's still hot

  • i bet this was considered so inappropriate at the time haha

  • @TheLexanatorOfficial

It was. The state of Kansas banned this movie. Today, on Netflix it's rated appropriate for ages 11 and up. lol

  • Ahahahahahah Tango scene is amazing XDDDDD LOL

  • Dear Jack Lemmon: I love you.

  • Absolutely love this scene ..one of my favs

  • Can you imagine kissing Marilyn Monroe like that? Makes my toes tingle too.

  • i wonder how they could keep a straight face while filming that scene.

  • Just an fyi--Curtis said once, in regard to his love scenes with MM, "It was like kissing Hitler!" He recently said that he was only kidding. However, Curtis (Bernie Schwartz) is a man who is incensed by anti-Semitism to a great degree. So, why would he compare MM to Hitler, feeling the way he did? Also, this should be noted: MM HATED the way she looked in this movie; she thought she was fat. This was around the time she she started to unravel, mentally. Sad, beautiful creature.

  • @karmadhyana ok a new view for this scene was that tony and MM were romantically involved with each other thats why it was so intence the kissing was real as it gets.

    what a woman.

  • @xwingclass I have read more than a couple of articles about Curtis dissing Miss Monroe, and likening kissing her to "...kissing Hitler." So, maybe Curtis really WAS a good actor. Anyone who can kiss someone (probably on more than one take) and make it look "intence"--especially someone that said what he said in several articles--must have amazing skills. But, I think closer to the truth would be that when Marilyn did a romantic scene with ANYone, it WAS intense. Norma Jean was THE "It" girl.

  • "nobody's perfect"

    amazing movie

  • luck guy....

  • i can not help myself - I LOVE IT!

(and her dress looks so good in this light, i think)

  • fav movie ever

  • Purrete - I hope one day you will be able to see this movie from start to finish... both Jack and Tony are amazing in the characters they play both male and female, and Marilyn was quite good too! ;o). Pure talent! I think you will enjoy it...

  • EXCELLENT WORK!!!! Thank you Tony Curtis. Rest in Peace, your work WILL be remembered!

  • Lemme see if I understand it right......Marilyn Monroe is on top of me, kissing not only my lips but actually sucking-in my entire face with her red and fleshy lips, pressing her boobies on my chest, caressing with both hands my scalp, she smelling like a fresh rose of Paradise and good old Tony can only say......."I've got a funny sensation in my toes?" Oh come on, he could've been a bit more passionate, don't you think so?

  • @Purrete .... it was his ploy... watch the entire movie if you haven't... he was playing that he was a man who couldn't get turned on... just to get her to continue to do what she was doing... I LOVE this movie! Enjoy it.

  • @doinoyou1 Weeeeell, you are right, my apologies. I was looking for a way to see the movie online but to no avail, no YouTube no Hulu no nothing, somehow it was just impossible, and last time I saw it was somewhere in the 70-ies. Finally I read the synopsis and I see you are right. BTW, don't you know of somebody I can fake my impotence on like Joe/Josephine did here? Mind you, I'm no Tony at any stretch.... don't even have a captain outfit ....I know,Doino, it was stolen.....hahaha -:)

  • @Purrete That's the joke, sweetie. He's pretending he's not affected by her lusciousness so that she can keep kissing him. Get it? ;)

  • @Squarepeg Nice move, Tony! I thought only women pretend but it looks like some men do it too, hahaha, Tony can afford it, with such looks! BTW, after she gives him 2 cups of champagne, may I ask how many did she have before? I also read in a synopsis that during the shooting of this movie she was pregnant, did you know it? She lost it thru a miscarriage - the second - but don't know from who........Kennedy? Arthur? Lemmon ? Hmmmm.....

  • @Purrete Marilyn had three miscarriages during her marriage to Miller. THere's no evidence--except if you care to believe that dead liar, Tony Curtis--that the babies were not Miller's.

  • We will miss you around the world!

  • Brilliant! so sas it has to end. Rest in Peace Mr Tony Curtis

  • In 1973, I was a young 19 year old guy who was fortunate enough to work for Tony Curtis. He was 48, and in incredible shape ! His life was blessed with beautiful wives, women, children, great parts in Hollywood, he loved painting, what a very special & unique man. Tony ... you were one of a kind ! You will be missed ! many around the world love you Tony !

  • @topdiveusa Hey, where can I see his paintings? Were they any good?

  • Farewell Tony!

  • bye Tony... Condolences to Jamie

  • Goodbye, Tony! ;-(

  • "I´m not quite sure. Do try it again." :)

  • Rest in Peace, Mr Curtis.

  • @dancesingkitty94

'they told me i was coput, finished all washed up. And here you are making a chump out of all those extra's' xD

  • they're all so GORGEOUS!!!! (apart from osgood) xD

this has got to be my favourite scene in the whole movie!! i just love tony curtis's cary grant voice. :P

  • Daphne is so sexy :) Jack Lemmon is a genius!

  • :-)

  • what does he say 2:48 ? they tell me I was....

  • Jack Lemmon is pure genius.

  • Could well have been Jack Lemmons best role... : )

  • i love how cranes her neck & leans in as they kiss. you don't have to get naked to make a good kiss scene. modern movies should get that classy!

  • That shot w/the passing of the rose always cracks me up!!

  • "Daphne..." "Hmmm?" "You're leading again!"

  • "Daphne..." "Hmmm?" "You're leading again!"

  • ah, i love this scene

  • Apparently, tony curtis never actually liked Marilyn Monroe. He couldn't stand her.

  • TO ALL WHO HAS SEEN THE MOVIE "WHITE CHICKS"??? There is a scene their where it's the exact same concept. Two guys in disguise as girls and one falls a woman and the a rich guy's in love with the 2nd guy.

So the 2nd guy is forced by his friend to go out with the rich guy so he can take the woman to the rich guy's house.

Both were funny in their own way, but this is an original.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Jack Lemmon was awesome!!!!!

  • Marilyn was so beautiful and sexy in this film - real Sex Bomb!!!

The movie was definitely one of the funniest comedies ever made

  • this movie is great , could watch it over and over

  • That Tango tune haunts my dreams.

Buh buh buh buh, Buh da da da da, da da da da

  • @oboeimposter What is the actual song called????

  • @TheScarlettNight The name is "La Cumparsita" one of the foremost popular tangoes in Argentina, played by the greatest tango orquestras of the country over the years. Here, a very shabby and mediocre version. Not to be mistaken with Billy Wilder's genius work, please.

  • Her dress was criminal.

  • Dude,

    Marilyn Monroe,

    +body-hugging dress

    +on a yacht

    +champagne

    +makeout

+playing in the background, "Let's build a stairway to the stars"

  • A word of warning about Tony Curtis. He lies like a rug nowadays to keep his name in front of the public. We have only his word about an affair with MM at this time. His ex wife Janet Leigh told me personally that his autobiography was complete bullsh*t.

  • Great movie! talented actors!

    LOL!!!!

  • It is so crushing to notice that Jack has sexier legs than me.......haha!

  • Tony Curtis - prince of the Golden Age.

Toni Curtis was fantastically beautiful man...

  • does anyone know who is the author/composer of the tango, or is it traditional?

  • La Cumparsita written by Gerardo Matos Rodriguez

  • i like how one scene is all romantic and another funny as hell

  • No, like, seriously whats so funny?

  • well you kinda of need a brain to think its funny although this is one of the more easily laughable parts of the movie. it makes perfect sense that someonelike you who probably thinks someone throwing up is funny, would not think this is funny. iq of at least 50 to laugh at this movie.

  • Comment removed

  • There's something wrong with your brain.

  • So the two can dance as if they were alone.

  • Ok, what was the significance of the band being blindolded?

  • yeah, i never understood why they were blindfolded in the end of the scene. lol.

  • Osgood mentions it earlier on

  • I Like t hot!

Its so nice, so very Amzing

  • i love this part alot too heheh

  • Jack Lemmon(leading:)&Joe Brown = MAGIC COUPLE:) Amazing movie! Thanks paiaam

  • "8 hours later they brought her up by mule" - my fave scene from this fabulous film. Rightly voted the best ever. The music by the way is "stairway to the stars" but not sure whose version this is.

  • "it's like smoking without inhaling"

    "so inhale!"

lol i absolutely love this movie and this scene and that line

  • The funniest scene from the funniest film ever. And still my favourite film. It never ages, never fails to crack me up! Brilliant!

  • Lemmon's tango partner and the rich guy at the end of the movie he tells he can't marry because he's a man is Joe E. Brown, one of Hollywood's great character actors, who really was perfect in this role, especially in his final line:" Well, nobody's perfect."

  • c koi le titre de cette music ??

  • tango la cumparsita

  • how is this Tango called??

I am searching for it a long time!!

  • se llama la cumparsita ......

    ¨la cumparsita¨

    saludos..

  • "Daphne...your leading again...!"

    "sorry!"

  • This film is so hilarious!!!! Just comic genius!

  • i love this movie

  • i love how its all serious with sugar and Tony Curtis and then it switches to the tango scene . . .and towards the end Daphne starts enjoying herself!

  • hier ist Marilyn aber wirklich in DEM Kleid des Jahrhunderts! Die Tangoszene schlägt allerdings alles! Einfach super

  • Heh heh!! Love that scene! Jack Lemmon (Daphne) is so funny.
