@neuronalbulldog Not exactly. The brain has many thousands of individual subunits and hundreds of types of cells with a different chemical composition. Delgado himself, along with many others (Penfield, Milner, Olds) said that the human and animal brain is different from person to person. However, once an electrode is placed in the brain permanently, without moving, it will produce the same behavioral response indefinately.

@neuronalbulldog Also, I have many of the actual original papers by Delgado. The implant didnt require a battery, but ran from radio control. When Delgado said this, the public was outraged. Here are the facts I learned from going over his official research notes:

The device works from 'inductive coupling' which is radio, yes, but different.

The electric field had to be very powerful on the outside of the animal to produce the very slight stimulation.

When turned on, the coil is activated, but only when within a powerful electric field only inches from the implant. @neuronalbulldog The concept sounds possible, but when you look at it closely you see its impossible. The farthest Delgado was able to control the subjects was at 50 meters. And even then he used incredably powerful transmitters. He seems sadistic, but I feel sorry for the guy. He was a great person, but whan WWII came, he was in a death camp for 3 years. That will change a person. He lost his hope in humanity (as have I) and made the mistake of claiming he could fix it.

@neuronalbulldog Delgado faught for the good guys in WW2. He was captured and put in a death camp for three years. He survived and was liberated a free man. But he learned a new philosophy. Many pople learned this in WW2. Its called "Existentialism". After the war, the world looked at eachother and asked "How could we let this happen?" The existentialists gave the answer: Humans are, by their own nature, evil (humans: not human - only evil in groups). Delgado firmly thought he could change this.
