I'm in the UK - could I just ask, please: What type of medical specialist would I need to approach to discuss having surgery of this type? It's probably something I'd need to do privately rather than via the National Health Service.
Not sure whether to see a dentist, orthodontist or an actual jaw surgeon? (or anything else?)

@Snuffomatica first you have to go to orthodontist. he has to take x-rays and m,odels of your teeth, and with x-rays and models u have too go to surgeon, and both willl discuss your treatment plana, you will rather nedd braces anyway, orthodontist has to align your teeth with jaw bone, then surgeon during surgery will cut your bone and move so your teeth fit together, the you are wired shut or banded

Man all these videos I see people saying, 'I'm getting mine done on such and such date' you lucky sons of guns....I cant even concieve the day when I'll be able to afford this kinda operation.

I hope your surgery went fine. Don't worry about the swelling, it will disappear in a couple of weeks. And don't forget to train mandibular movements after unlocking! Good luck! Luca

Wish this was slowed down some, and longer. This is so fascinating to see how many areas are affected. I'm curious to know the age of the patient and the length of time for the video from beginning to end. Was this over months, years, what?
