  • Denna versionen av gånglåt är från en konsert där Fläsket var förband för Frank Zappa. Den här konserten missade jag men jag såg Fläsket på Pistolteatern. Löjligt bra musik. Det här håller än idag - med råge.

  • Their name comes from a murder in Stockholm in 1962 when a bank clerk murdered, dismembered and incinerated a retired dentist in a tiled stove. The clerk was soon suspected but there were no proofs. Surprisingly, he confessed the crime which put the police in a hard situation: the block where this should have taken place had been demolished so there was no material evidence. Experts were consulted who claimed that it would be impossible to incinerate a human in a tiled stove.

  • The clerk persisted his story, so the police made a reconstruction of the crime site, purchased tiled stoves and whole butchered pigs of the same weight as the dentist. The pigs were dismembered according to the clerk's instructions and put into the stoves. The course of events baffled the experts: it was exactly as the clerk had described. There was a roaring sound, fat poured out onto the floor and the whole incineration took three hours. Only ash remained.

  • The clerk was sentenced to penal servitude and was released after 14 years and then took up his old family life. He never fell back in criminality. The case is quite unique: very few cases have led to a sentence when there is neither a murder victim nor a crime site.

So, if you ever wondered why there are pigs' heads burning in stoves on the group's envelopes, this is the story. 'Fläsket brinner' means 'The pork is burning'.
