Very well done. Perhaps the best piano rendition of this on You Tube. I imagine that now, a few years later, you're taken it a step further. I'd love to see you redo this video with better microphones. (And I'll bet now that he's a bit older your brother would like for you to redo it as well.)
I think the art world would be dead without the gays.
Without digressing to comment on his technique or the disruptions in the recording, I have to say that this does nothing to allude to the point of the piece, which really does not communicate very well on such a naturally staccato instrument.
I can think of several ways that both the performer and the arranger could have done better to accommodate the legato of the original piece, but I think I'll have to just arrange this myself. Bother.
Also, most ironic that Samuel Barber is gay. =) And I agree with you.. gays rule. Tchaikovsky, Bernstein, etc. Most importantly in this case? Samuel Barber. =P
and of course the greatest piece of art, music, or drama ever created (including th mona lisa, shakespeare, romeo and juliet..etc) BEETHOVEN'S 9TH SYMPHONY
You said in your description that you feel this is one of the most powerful songs ever written. I agree. It has also been officially voted as the sadest song ever put to paper.

... Though, if I may also reflect, I think the gay younger brother in question was the one who disrupted the recording, not the pianist himself.
I guess that affectionate slight to his younger sibling backfired a little.

Ah, good choices, don't forget Ballade No.1, Mozarts Concerto 20 in D minor, as well as the nocturne 27-2 by Chopin, or moonlight sonata.

Great selection. Rachy's piano concerto 2 is definitely one of the greatest pieces to play.
