  • I'm only just starting judo; I understand the principles of falling safely and all that, but I've got to say, watching some of these videos, I still don't understand how some of these guys aren't breaking their necks on these falls.

  • Sup everyone... I just wanted to say I love judo, I've been bouncing arround from art to art not feeling whole until I started judo.... its been working out great for me specially because I'm a bjj blue belt so it really supliments it nicely!

  • Which is better? Judo or Karate? Thinking of trying one out..

  • @Fave1479 Judo

  • @Fave1479 both are very good. especially shotokan, kyokushin and ryu karate. but the fact that there is ground fighting in judo, chokes, holds and locks i'd choose judo. a black belt in judo could easily throw a karateka on the ground and do what ever he want with him because the karatekas got no ground work

    so judo.

  • @R3dTigerM40A3

Theres different type of ryo karates what would you recommend.

  • @TechnicolorVille goju-ryo.

  • @Fave1479 Both! Judo and Karate have had a long relationsihp going all the way back to the early collaborations between Shotokan founder Gichin Funakoshi and Judo founder Jigoro Kano. Kano was so impressed by Karate that he invited Okinawan masters to give demos at the Kodokan in Japan. Karate adopted the belt rank system from Judo, and both styles have been practised together for decades. Many schools teach both styles, so that would be the best thing. Striking and grappling together.

  • @Fave1479 judo is way better for self defense. Karate is okay, but you learn a lot more in judo.

  • I wish we saw the whole grabs, not just the second half of em

  • @sameer99sim thanks, you really helped

  • Please help me

I don't know whever to start karate, judo or ju jistu

  • @MegaPwnifier i prefer karate and judo both because judo doesnt have striking skills and karatae doesnt have grappling skills. re play me.

  • judo is awesome

  • Are all of this classified as ippon wins? If so, the judge needs a pair of specs as some deffo weren't.

  • Breaks neck at 1:02

  • there was no break falls

  • @Williammscott

Well sometimes if you can't get your arms free you use your feet, that is probably what they were doing

  • I was in judo for a bit I loved our favourite sentence for remembering the rules outside the dojo: they tell you to be nice at school, they tell you to be nice on the street..... here we tell ya to THROW 'EM DOWN AND SQUISH 'EM!!!!! it was fun painful fun epsecially when you can choke them out in ground fighting >:)

  • Awesome seio nage around the 8 second mark. What a vid!

  • 4010 pessoas lutam judo , 190 fazem ''briga de nerd''

  • shit...

  • 01:56 amazing!

  • mute.

  • one of the best videos i've watched and i've seen like a thousand

  • heeeeeeeeeeeeerlijk!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:46

"haha, I threw you to the ground you fool! ouch, my face :("

    xD

  • judo is awesome for street fights...

  • I know karate and haven't seen much Judo. I wonder what these guy would do if we hit them. On the other hand, if they can shut down our extremities, we're toast.

  • I used to think that Brazilian jiujitsu was better but after a little practice of both arts and see lots of videos, and meet a member of the US. judo team a few years ago mmm I think at least in seldenfense terms judos could be better!! In street if you can throw away to your enemy he falls and slam the hard concrete floor he's lost!!

  • There is nothing like watching a judo match!

  • 2:36 It's an uchi mata sukashi, right? It's such a nice technique, even more useful nowadays when uchi mata is so largely used. And it contains the very spirit of judo: you throw your opponent to the ground dodging his attack and using his own movement :)

  • Both of there stances at 3:06 and on, are absolutely horrible

  • @19Judoka95 I know, I hate that position. It does set you up for Sumi Gaeshi though, because you can just use their momentum to carry them forward. Man, I love this sport.

  • I'm been doing wrestling for about two years and I'm thinkin bout try this :) any advice?

  • @rikkikki28 It's alot harder then wrestling, watch your stance, stand straight up, not in your wrestling stance

  • @19Judoka95 well judging by ur username u think judo is harder. IMO depends on height weight and wat u prefer.

  • I start to practisse judo when since i just had 15 years old.I love judo, i need it to live :D

  • im 24 and been practicing tae kwon do all my life currently 2nd dan i know its too late but i would really like to try judo any pointers???

  • @DarEbrio Start now, and learn how to fall. Judo is a blast to learn, but if you have an issue with hitting the mat you will never be able to really enjoy it. I started in Tae Kwan Do an dmoved to Judo myself. I love being able to stay on my feet and fight or at a moments notice drop to the ground and take the other guy to the ground with a body lock.

  • @Axias85 sweet thanks a lot im hoping i can learn fast enough :D

  • 0:7-0:10 dobree

  • Una bestia!!!

  • @iNTEFLUMMiG Belt doesn't matter just saying. NEither does time. I've been doing judo for 6 months and won my very first tournament in the advanced division (in Texas). Just have a good teacher and will power and Judo can come very easily. Especially when you are good at relaxing and not trying to outmuscle others.

  • 187 gays got raped by a judoka.

  • What the hell is up with all these comments and people getting so emotional. DAMN, just to get most comments? That's just lame...

  • its like extreme wrestling

  • But big tournament coming up hope I win last time I lost was 2 years ago and I cryed but you learn form defeats and the guy I lost to is the person I lost to my good friend and good luck but u never know I might win this time:) but if I lose I gotta accept it and move on :(

  • I'm a black belt only 13 and did it for 7 years I think I earned it the best sport I think that I can win any tournament except Olympics I would never win

  • I just started Judo even though I'm 15 but I love it! :D

  • as a little kid i used to watch my dad practice judo from the sidelines once i started to join in i only got to yellow blet before my dad had to stop because of work and couldn't take me any more but after seeing this video im gonna start judo again and be the best i can

  • BEST of luck man...i've been doing judo for 2 years man, i love it soo much...but lately i myself got my first part time job, and also studying for my G.E.D, and have missed practice lately...i wanna be the best i can be too. (check out my channel for videos of myself doing judo, watch round two of my tournament fight if you wanna see me win, watch round 1 if you wanna see me lose lol)

  • @mrtacnyan same for me

  • @mrtacnyan Alright then! we don't know you...

  • had a whole year of not losing a single contest then shattered my knee and ruptured my cruciate ligaments awaiting sixth operation and I'm only 16 thats life that judo

  • I love judo. Started training to compliment my BJJ/wrestling. I trained Tuesday and Thursday of last week, my body still hurts. I'll be back this coming week.

  • guys MUTE the sound ...and watch the video..thumbs up if u can still hear the song

  • i just started judo.. :)) but i love it..!! xDD

  • i got my black belt at 16, i'm now 18 and have done 10 years of judo. have had to stop judo because my university does not offer it, but i can tell you that i have learned so much from judo. from control of yourself, to respect of others, to learning how to fight/defend yourself, it has all been an amazing experience, and i can' t wait to finish uni to be able to come back to judo.

  • How does one go about making a video like this? Where did you get all the footage? Was it legal to take the footage? What program did you use to put it together?

  • I LOVE JUDO!!!!! im twelve and im an orange belt 2 Mon im a British champion under my weight and a Kent international champ i want to be the first person from Britain to win the Olympics JUDO ROCKS !!!!!!!

  • 2:44 best moment

  • Two of my classmates way playing around, until one of them sat on the other one, so then I pushed him away with my foot.

He charged at me, (he is MUCH taller than me) so I started to defend myself. It all went so fast, but after a little while, I came in a position where I felt like I could throw him miles away. In the end, I could`t do it, because I realized that he would be in so much pain afterwards. But the feeling that I could throw him on the ground, was really ecstatic.

  • 0:47??????????????????????? wow what is?

  • I'm 7, have been training for 12 years, and am an instructor for Olympic hockey.

  • @batboyjhg you're 7 years old and you have been training for 12 years?

  • @ybk767 You jealous?

  • @batboyjhg oh yea totally

i wish i could've started training 5 years before i was born too

  • @batboyjhg A truly inspiring sucess story.

  • Kimura>>>>Gracie

  • thumb_jam_ring.jpg

  • Would u recommend this for someone who has never done martial arts?? Im looking into a new form of training, lifting weight has gotten kinda boring now lol

  • cool

  • i love judo, but i dont enter the comps.Im into it for the training and philosphy mostly =]

been training for 9 years and i have a brown belt :D

  • im 10 and i am 4th kon in yellow

  • i think 1:55 is most legit and coolest

  • The sport which is best in the world ! but no money in that sport really bad :(

  • hi, i'm 24 with no judo background at all, do you think it's worth starting at this age or is this too late?

  • @kulugum It's never too late. I know people who started at 50.

  • @kulugum No, its not too late! You'll love it!

  • @kulugum Martial Arts is for all ages. Martial Arts doesn't require Age, it requires Respect and Good Spirit.

  • Cool

  • i used to do kung fu, but my time expired. im wondering if judo has any strikes involved like kung fu like punching and kicks and whatnot.

  • @Shrumins No, Judo is a strictly grapple and ground work sport no striking of any sort but it is probably the most fun ive had doing in a sport and really works you and teaches you lots so i would recommend doing it if your ok without striking :)

  • @iNTEFLUMMiG I think that's awesome. I'm currently blue belt and think it's really fun.

  • @Avianspark me too

  • @Avianspark Nice, i'm currently no-belt and don't like judo. I'm only here to piss off my friend who does Judo by saying how he should be able to do these things.

  • Great throws!!

  • I'm 15, I've been training Judo for 10 years. I have brown belt and My dream is to win the olympics or the world championships..

  • @iNTEFLUMMiG

    And nobody cares.

  • @JevastusSelvius let him dream he might make it.

  • @iMeGaMaNxGGx

I'm just saying that nobody cares. :D

  • @iNTEFLUMMiG yeah good luck mate, just keep training and keep dreaming

  • @iNTEFLUMMiG

    Good luck bro!

I’m sure with commitment and hard work you can make your dreams a reality, never loose hope :)

  • @iNTEFLUMMiG You should've been a black belt 2 years ago O_O But i understand your Sensei, he's making you a true warrior, Being a Black Belt too early will be an Unskilled Black Belt.

  • @ymk19 We have a rule that you can't be a black belt before you turn 16, so I have to wait a year before I can get mine ;)

  • @iNTEFLUMMiG Oh, that's pretty smart of your Sensei. Because once a kid gets a black belt, he/she has to compete in tournaments which is really dangerous sometimes.

  • @ymk19 haha i agree with you!

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 lol thanks, how'd you find me here O_O

  • @ymk19 randomly again..like when i found one of your comment in that tkd video game xD!

  • @ymk19 What you are saying is total nonsence. Judo means "gentle way", games like soccer have more injuries, judo is a pretty safe sport. How do you want to learn judo, without competing in tournaments, against other talented people? It's not all technique, you can only master judo if you don't bring it in practice.

  • @HacksFFS Well dude, i didn't mean to offend anyone. Even you, are you angry at me or something? Judo is a MARTIAL ART, so it HAS TO FREAKING HURT. Plus i'm still growing, i don't wanna lift and stunt my growth. I'm 12. I don't know if i offended you or something but sorry. I've never done Judo Before...

  • @ymk19 what that guy is saying to ttotally wrong..soccer is mroe dangerous..xD my friend just broke his shoulder beacause he got throwed on the ground in the competition..i do judo and trust me if you use it correctly you can easily hurt somone...with all those locks and chokes and throws..but for the lifting your safe...its all techniques

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 Haha, thanks for the advice, i think i'm going to learn Judo soon. xD

  • @ymk19 you should

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 Yeah i know, i've been thinking about it all week.

  • @ymk19 its god beacause not only beacause judo have the best throws of all martial arts..it alos have one of the best ground fighting...royce gracie got beated by a judoka on the ground

  • @ymk19 good*

  • Goodluck !!

  • @iNTEFLUMMiG That's awesome mate. Work hard and dream big.

  • @iNTEFLUMMiG brown belt at 15!? fark it makes me wish i started at a younger age

  • @iNTEFLUMMiG I have my green, any tips for getting better technique?

  • u can break ur arm if u put it down rght when he throws u

  • What's the name of the song!!!!?

  • @MihailTube Best of You - Foo Fighters

  • 0:15 is a form of kata guruma, by the way... In judo character comes first, you will not advance without it! Foul mouthed boys should switch to MMA... You will not get rank in judo no matter how good your tech is...

  • some of them throws look nasty !!

  • BJJ came from Judo you noobs.

  • 2:46 bellaquera

But what fucked me up and my sensei , was one in a tournment in my town , i've got desclassified because i was in blue belt , and i've executed "juji gate" (orange belt )...uuhhg ..those motherfuckers :@

  • @Thiago666Lucifer It sounds like your attitude might be a part of the reason you're still orange belt.

  • LOL

  • I watched 2:47 a dozen times before I realized wtf happened.

  • @19thaman79 its easy (Y) ; )

  • @19thaman79 so did i..and i guess i'm still confused. lol

  • What are the most dangerous throws in Judo? In other words: Which throws can break your neck?

  • @Svittidiu Any throw performed improperly can break your neck. Nobody needs to know how to break other people's necks.

  • @Svittidiu a kata guruma if done by an amateur can be quite dangerous, though professionals hardly ever do it wrong... also the sumi gaeshi can be a little dangerous tho:

shit happens (like broken arms or legs) more often when someone tries to combo in a lock along with a throw, it is really good and effective but also very dangerous

  • Esse video ficou muuito foda

  • 2:47 Flying Armbar Hell Yes!!!!!!!!

  • judo no who your messing with XD

  • I was fighting with a hot Judo chick the other day, I stuck my dick in her mouth and she submitted, willingly!!! Grrrr!

  • This looks very dangerous, many thing can go wrong all the time for the neck, spine, and head, not counting the possible breaking of joints.
