When atheists are asked to prove something is not true, the atheists' most hilarious response to theists, which has been used from Ayn Rand to Madalyn Murray O'Hair, is the following: “Nobody ever proves a negative!”; “Nobody ever is called upon to prove a negative!”; or “Nobody has to prove a negative!”
Hilarious! Imagine an attorney using that phrase in a courtroom!
@legalman1980 - Then try it. Lawyers don't have to say it. A negative statement can't be proven to be true. You can only prove a positive statement. Try it.
I knew Madalyn and Jon. IMHO they were more concerned with arguing against other atheists than with the religious. Martin was a Baptist apologist, very arrogant, and it does not surprise me that he and Madalyn talked part each other.
All these gifts. How kind of god to give invisible gifts. LOL
Then he asks if she believes in Jesus. Then the man brought up Josephus -- what a big mistake. Disingenuous. He keeps bringing up she is a lawyer in a snarky way. He is indignant for a holy man.
I haven't gotten to the next episode yet, but he didn't answer Madelyn's statement that references to Jesus of Nazareth in Josephus were not in his original manuscripts but interpolated by someone else in the middle ages.
HA! Isn't that so true!? Christians always speak nothing but gibberish and illogical psychobabble that a sane and reasonable person should respond to by laughing out loud in their face!
CrucieFiction---That's one reason why I love to hear Madalyn take on these Christians. If they speak nonsense, she'll laugh out loud, with no fear. Religion needs that. Christians need it. Comedy can sometimes help cure arrogance.
Actually, even if we accept the historicity of Jesus (and there is reason to doubt it), the Romans, not the Jews, executed him. The Jews hadn't the power to do any such thing in Roman occupied Judea. And as Mrs. Murray pointed out, no trial or execution of Jesus was recorded by them. If it happened, it would have been.

It's clear that the reverend is ignorant. The Jews killed Jesus? What a fucking moron.
