  • I guess this is how you amuse yourself?

NOT funny - damn waste of my time LOOSER!

  • I'm astounded by how ironic this video is....

  • Yes, hiring a deaf person... it makes sense except for the part that customers will get frustrated and angry that the deaf girl got their order wrong. Loosing business to Accommodate one person does not make sense. I would allow them to fill out the application then say"we will call you if we decide to hire you" Very hard to prove discrimination unless the deaf person applies over and over again.

  • The captions are almost like YouTube captions.

  • | PLEASE | Before you go to the next video, if you turned the volume up, TURN it DOWN. or else expect RIP Headphone users

  • Human Ressource School 101 ... lol dumbass's

  • One of the deaf girl is hot. She is cute.

  • Was that a 'subtle' joke at the end? 'If people stand up for you, do you feel like you've been given a "VOICE"?' I mean...really!

  • if we wanted to learn english........oh wait we already speak english

  • putting the volume down is also discrimination

  • for a sec, i thought i turned deaf LOL

  • hey video owner, you forgot the audio that goes with the video, thxs

  • many people should watch this video just to realise how hard it is i couldnt even watch the whole 7mins i only lasted the first 3mins its too hard cause all you hear duting the video is silence

  • @CPereiraa * during

  • i had my volume at full than i went to another video and blew out my ear drums thx

  • wtf cant hear shit

  • fuck you

  • I thought. My iPad was broken lol

  • i cant hear..... ?

  • That's the fruitiest thing I ever heard. We're not your damn children, thank god.

  • It would suck if a blind person was trying to listen to this.

  • Discrimination against deaf happens everywhere even in universities.

  • Great way to learn English when the captions spelled application wrong....

  • I can't hear it. And I have the volume turned all the way up. you might want to fix that.

  • I can't hear the video?

  • hearing do that against won't hired any job 50 state and puerto rico too deaf and dominoc repbuic. that why wrose bad ecomicy! i did apply wholefood nyc it racist color am spanish. all black. that why. i going leave out state. i going find job work cpu thank god.

  • If this is only for your children's to learn english without sounds then why posted this on youtube for us not to hear sounds ass hole!!

Could of at least leave the words but have sounds too so we can still enjoy it.

  • 0:43 hmm looks a bit like Elle Macpherson.

  • Yup,,,,,,it comes even from the Ontario March of Dimes job finding club, very judgemental and discriminating......and wasn't allowed to work in HR, at the Head Office of RBC-DS in Canada because of a "little" hard of hearing!

  • OMG IM FUCKING DEAF NOW after clicking on the next link. Don't forget you had to crank up the volume to hear this!!!!

  • I didnt know there were so many hot deaf chicks in America.

  • I don't see why everyone is giving the uploader sh*t over volume, or why mrjoeybear's comment has so many negative views.

Just be glad that the video's here for all of you to see, and captions so you'll have an idea on what's going on. A lot of times you don't have anything for videos this quiet, or better yet nothing at all.

So chill. And just fucking appreciate this video. Gosh -_-

  • To those who agree with the manager's opinion, everyone is entitled to their opinions but I think it's unethical and wrong to reject someone because they are Deaf or HOH. Give them a chance just like you would any other applicant.

To those who disagree with the manager's opinion, KUDOS!

To all those who complain about subtitles and no sound, I don't understand what the big deal is. I mean you can read correct? It's not the end of the world to watch a video and it has no sound.

  • I totally agree with the managers decision. Its there choice but I definitely wouldn't have rejected them up front like that. There are probably tons of better suited applicants applying for that job that I would have hired instead.

  • That would be so fucked up. We as Americans are duty bound to stand up for injustice where ever we find it. I would have let that manager have a piece of my mind!

  • fuck this I'm going to watch another uploaders video of this lack of volume get to fuck

  • Sean Berdy is deaf, if I saw this happening to him. I'd kick the barista in the, you know :)

  • Here is the video with sound:

    watch?v=gJcAymTu-CE

  • well mr smart , whether u watch the subs or video !

  • The HR people are disgusting. People pretending to help others, how despicable.

  • Wow! The uploader of this video is retarded!

    Oh well! :)

  • the fact that this video has low volume makes me want to kick the uploaders ass so much

  • where the hell is the volume

  • Wtf!!! Can't fking hear!!! And then who ever went and put those slow fking subtitles in!!!

  • 1:53 She's pretty hot

  • Cant hear anything...what a slick way to connect it to being deaf...but I wanna hear what happened.

  • I CANT HEAR SHIT. FK THIS

  • Haha this is such a great video and effect to bring the point across. I love it

  • Welcome to the real world! In my early working life, I was lucky enough to work within an organisation, who were one of the major instigators of change with equal opportunities in Britain. As a teen, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I have been able to work with people from all walks of life, different cultures, sexual orientation and disabilities, and I've seen first hand, how stupid some people can be toward the deaf. Just for the record; speaking louder doesn't help!

  • wth I cant hear anything I wanted to watch a video not read a video

  • @imlatinoguy How does it feel to experience what they do? You can turn the volume up, they can't.

  • You're deaf cause if you're not i don't know why there isn't any volume there's a reason they invinted T.V. to listen and see. read a book if you want to read.

  • I think a lot of people do care -most of them- but it takes real empathy to take action. Maybe they don't see it as a big deal like with racism, homophobia or sexism because disabilities are associated with not being good enough or not being able to perform a job as good as "normal" people. Its a shame really...

  • FUCK THIS VID!!! stupid ass uploader!!

  • I am taking ASL right now so I totally feel for deaf people. I plan on being a therapist for deaf & hearing people between the age groups of child to young adult. I want to make a difference!

  • I don't know what "kitchen job" entails but if hearing wasn't required for the job and she was more qualified than the other applicants it wouldn't make sense not to hire her. It's a coffee place/restaurant. What would he need her to do all that quickly? Would you still consider it discrimination to refuse to hire someone for a position where hearing is necessary...e.g. secretary, telemarketer? I don't know why a deaf person would apply but this show has plenty of ridiculous extremes.

  • @silencefades I actually have a lot seeing as how I'm a Deaf studies major but if you have a different opinion that's fine

  • All too often, HR departments are there to protect a company from being sued, not to ensure that the company complies with the law. The behavior that they demonstrated is precisely the problem why suing for discrimination is so difficult, if not impossible, even when it is ENTIRELY justified to sue someone for discrimination. And the people who actively discriminate get their butts covered by HR, and then nothing happens to them, no changes. It's disgusting.

  • is the lack of volume supposed to bring the point home?

  • @mrjoeybaer well I have no problem with my English, and I find captions annoying. But I totally understand you, and it is a great tool for teaching children how to read...quickly! :)

  • @mrjoeybaer ooohhh wow good idea. very smart.

  • @mrjoeybaer hey we arent your kids stop making silent videos

  • @mrjoeybaer

Yeah well you might want people who have hearing keep their hearing.People with earbuds will turn this up and forget about it when they get to the next video and get a painful surprise.

    Ass.

  • @mrjoeybaer maybe you should have captioned it correctly then...

  • @mrjoeybaer Good for you but NewsFlash - We are not your children. Let us decide whether we want to manually decrease the volume or not

  • @mrjoeybaer we are not your children...if you upload something that should have sound then it should bloody well have sound!!

  • @mrjoeybaer

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. As a partially deaf person myself, I find that having the volume up on a high level requires me to read at a speaking pace, rather than allowing myself to fall behind. Not to mention, we aren't your children and shouldn't be treated as such.

  • @GraceTheUnstoppable Awww it thinks its a person.

  • @mrjoeybaer pity on your children lol

  • @mrjoeybaer Perhaps if the captions were in time with the video this would have worked...

  • @mrjoeybaer You need to be in the programme for doing that to your kids - duh!

  • @mrjoeybaer thats a very good idea!

  • @mrjoeybaer Your a lame

  • @mrjoeybaer Sir, that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. How can they "learn English " if by reading it? Woudlnt they have to already know it to read it? And my other argument, how would they be able to understand the contects in which the words they are reading are used by just hearing them? And they will not be able to watch and read. Your just one of those people i guess.

  • @mrjoeybaer your children are so retarded by now lol

  • @mrjoeybaer yes but this isnt your kids watching this and most of us would like to listen to this while doing something else

  • @mrjoeybaer That's stupid and rude to post captions on a video when it's not necessary when we can all hear and read English perfectly well, your fucking stupid.

  • @usuckbad2 That is your problem. HA HA.. I am laughing at you for your stupidity and ignorance. Sure Karma gets back to you one day ;) I can't wait for that moment to happen for you.

  • @mrjoeybaer Also the captions are too slow so this wouldn't help anything just extremely annoying as the perfectly good ones supplies with the original video are being blocked out by your idiocy!

  • @usuckbad2

That is your problem. I advise you to watch it because it pisses you off. HA HA. I am sure karma gets to you one day ;) And.. I might not know, but I hardly can't wait when it happens. Maybe a loss of your family member, or someone you care about will lost a limb, or you will become deaf at later age All I can say I am amused when it happens to you!

  • @MDkid1 thats what I was thinking I was like wait hold on???? hahaha

  • @MDkid1 omg i rofled to this comment

  • thats really sad. the hearing people dont care nor want to bother with the deaf. that has to stop.

  • Ahhh, This is discrimination right here. No Sound. I can't hear the TV. lol. jk. I'm glad they stood up for other peoples rights

  • I am not even surprised by HR specialists' behavior -- it is very pervasive all over the country.

    R-

  • those hr people and everyone else who just stood by and watched this descrimination should be ashamed of themselves. these people are disgusting! this discrimination should not exist today but because of ignorant people it does. Deaf people are amazing, hardworking and nonjudgemental and i think they are far superior to those rude hearing people....and this is coming from a hearing person!

  • @ybbilajies sorry if you are really saying that deaf folks are non judgmental you really have very little experience or knowledge of the deaf community

  • @ybbilajies im just going to assume that you meant any discrimination instead or this discrimination.. :)

  • @ybbilajies I agree! My tennis coach is not deaf, but hard of hearing, and she is one of the sweetest people I know!

  • @ybbilajies maybe deaf people are not suited for customer relations as much as disabled people are not suited for some manual work

  • THX :)
