  • Can I download a car?

  • Comment removed

  • I fully agreed with you

  • If you rip your DVD's to your computer you can cut out everything but the main movie... I do that with every movie we get b/c I loathe all that stuff you just talked about... whenever I watch a movie it goes straight to the movie ... no adds no previews no FBI warning just the movie and no User prohibited actions such as skipping past them not that I need to once I save nothing but the main movie to hard disk

  • Just like t.v t.v used to be free until the greedy corporate leaders took over the airwaves like Comcast, cablevision there all shit! for over privileged idiots! you people have been suckered EPIC FAIL AMERICA!

  • EVEN THE MOVIES HAVE COMMERCIALS THERE SHEEPLEMERCIALS! FOR BRAINWASHED MATERIALISTIC MORONS.

  • i hate ads

  • Hah, irony. The commercial is on the DVD you bought at the store...

  • And I could tell the DVD is fake because it does not say thing like DVD or blue ray.

  • I like how channels do not show commercials in the middle of the show. It makes the show more fun and better to watch. When commercials are in the middle of the show then you get tired and bored and it ruins the show. It is better when they just show it in the start.

  • The second version of the ad is more like a funny one for humor.

  • YOU WOULDN'T DOWNLOAD A CAR.

  • i support 3d, in movies simply because it looks like shit when pirated. i think its good most pirated movies look like shit, it gives it a balance.if it looks to good you woudnt bother with the theater, but if its just shitty enough that you feel like you missed something important. youll be more tempted to go to theater and see a good quality. or like i did, you see a shitty movie so good, you want to see it in theaters because you know this movie was built for the big screen

  • I feel your pain man, Those anti-piracy ads on the DVDs are annoying as fuck but it's best to ignore them.

  • We are breaking box office records every fucking month the movie industry is not losing money from the internet in fact it is just the opposite it makes more money because you want to see it on the big screen not some dark piece of shit that you can barely see or hear. The fuckheads just want to control every damn thing we do.

  • Bullshit you pay for tv and people handbrake to make illegal DVDs from the one they bought it isn't only about downloading it's about uploading bitch

  • I'm selling copies of the piracy ad. All proceeds will be donated to the directorate of smokin' with all who get high, and the treatment for those who are less fortunate and can't get high themselves. also know as DOSWAWGHATTFTWALFACGHT or just the directorate for short.

  • If I could steal a car with the click of a mouse and a bit of wait time, I totally would not do that! I'd think of the poor lady paying full price for a new Porsche, and I'd realize how wrong it is to take things without earning them. Even though I was born already knowing.

  • So completely well-said! I had not thought of it this way. They had me buffaloed.

    I love BLADERUNNER too.

  • Blu-rays are really bad too - Un-skippable adds and commercials. Fortunately, there is streaming - and there you just get the movie and no unwanted fluff!

  • Lmao, I hate commercials and those anti piracy shit messages on my dvds

  • You remind me of that ''You're tacky and I hate you'' kid from School of Rock.

  • What the f*ck? I was watching the simpsons movie on my dvd and it had like 15 minute commercials

  • No, wouldn't steal a handbag, but I would blow up the fucking planet

  • If you split from the woman you love who cares?

  • You wouldn't buy a car.

    You wouldn't buy a handbag.

    You wouldn't buy a DVD.

    Buying pirated films is stupid.

    Download them instead.

  • You wouldnt speed in your car. You wouldnt smoke weed. Also, fuck you, Warner Brothers. They run WMG, the guys who mute all the good Youtube videos.

  • 2:22 is dumb

  • Don't tell me that if im getting a dvd there gonna put stupid move commercials on it

  • DVD Commercials = FAIL

  • Piracy is not as aggressive as stealing or killing but it still effects someone. "Big corporations" which happen to give many people jobs are only successful if people buy there product. If one person steals and gives it to his friend and then there friends and then their friends thats thousands of dollars they worked hard for gone.

  • i pay for tv, and have to watch 5mns of adverts every 15 minutes D:

  • There is something even worse. That is you can't record music off video games for personal use when you've already bought the game.

  • I HATE commercials...

  • You're ripping apart of the ad itself was a little over the top. However, your monologue at the end was 100% on point

...and also, I would steal a car or a handbag so I always thought those ads were assuming too much.. I also thought more people would be willing to steal stuff too but I could be wrong..

  • If you use windows media player you can skip past the commercials at the beginning of DvDs.

  • i started downloading illigal movies when i saw ''downloading is agianst the law'' becuz being agianst the law is badass lol.

  • @blindyourears I actually said that at 0:20. Way to pay attention.

  • The ability to skip pass commercials completely defeats the purpose of a commercial. Way to miss the point.

  • @blindyourears

then they shudn't put the commercials there in the dvd in the first place that we bought in the first place. plus, there may be some people that actually wud want to watch the ads if they feel like it. so, why not hav the OPTION to skip past it??? i think u completely missed the point of the video, mr. "BLIND"yourears

  • @atomichead777 Oh god. Your grammar. It burns. And skipping past commercials is pretty much the same as having no commercials at all. If they give that option, people like you will just skip over it anyway.

  • @blindyourears

well, people like me BOUGHT the dvd, and people like me would like to have the OPTION to skip past dvd ads. Not all of us give a shit about stupid commercials we could watch on tv. Also, why add a commercial to a dvd? I mean, every time we pop in the dvd, we would ALWAYS have to watch those damn ads all the time. So seriously, what is the point?? I think you have missed the point of my comment AND this video mr. "BLIND"yourears

  • And what I hate when I watch dvds is when the put this big warning of noy copying it

  • @blindyourears

They shouldn't even add the commercials to the DVD in the FIRST place. So please, if you have nothing better to say, keep it to yourself. Noone else gives a shit about crappy ads that you might enjoy.

  • @commercialsihate downloading is not illegal but downloading movies is illegal because you have to pay for the movie

  • @commercialsihate the DVD that the dude was stealing just looked like some drawing because there is norhing on it but just a picture of some person

  • @commercialsihate SHUT THE FUCK UP!! THIS SHIT IS WORSE THAN A COMMERCIAL!

  • @commercialsihate damn you stupid, just dont watch tv if u get pissed off

  • @blindyourears

    You are one STUPID idiot.

  • Oh my god...you and I think exactly alike. Like steeling a Lamborghini is the same as downloading C.H.U.D onto a DVD. Oh, and those kids' videos are the worst. 1 hour of "brainwashing" ads followed by the actual 1 hour movie. Pathetic!

  • i found the piracy ad on my robots dvd

  • I always buy my pirated dvds from the smelly bum in the dark alley. It's so much easier than downloading.

  • I hate 98% of all commercials today... But I love commercials from the 90s.

  • VCRs WILL BE THE END OF THE FILM INDUSTRY! CASSETTE TAPES ARE KILLING THE MUSIC INDUSTRY! DOWNLOADING PIRATED MEDIA IS LIKE DOWNLOADING COMMUNISM!

  • i agree with you my good friend i dont pirate to steal i pirate to see if its worth the buy i wouldnt want to go see a movie thats shit and just know i wasted £5 for it fuck that if i enjoy it i do same with you pay to see it agan and buy the movie once on dvd

  • Oh god, the commercial at 1:40 is on almost EVERY DVD I OWN! And they put others on it as wel....all unskippable.

  • if you ae going to watch pirated movies who is going to pay?

  • @ulmwarrior if you "ae" going to borrow legal movies, who is going to pay?

  • @multipurpose101 I'm not following you. I meant are. I wasn't saying people who watch pirated movies don't buy legal movies I'm saying no one buys the pirated movies.

  • @ulmwarrior Oh how digital communication provides much misinterpretation

  • @multipurpose101 yeah...

  • YOU WOULDN'T DOWNLOAD A CAR

  • I love downloading cars and handbags

  • yea because stealing a car is the same thing as downloading a song off limewire :) piracy ftw

  • They Should have made a commercial syaing "Oh You bought this shitty DVD why didn't you just download it and and save yourself 25 Bucks IDIOT"

  • "Buying pirated DVDs is a crime"--okay, so as long as I don't buy them, I'm cool?

  • in the uk i hav sky tv which is satalite and god! its all adverts and commertials

  • If you bought Bladerunner on DVD, why did you illegally download it? Couldn't you just watch the DVD.

  • I am thoroughly annoyed when watching TV and boom: commercials. I also hate it when DVDs force you to watch ads that you can't skip though.... Ugh! VHS, although obselete for modern movies, does give great power when you can still physically fast forward right through the ads/previews. And yes, I say here, about the stealing ad, that downloading is different. Stealing takes an object AWAY from an owner while downloading makes a COPY.

  • Those commercials all assume that I would have paid for the DVD if I couldn't have downloaded it. This guy may have loved Blade Runner so much that he paid an asston of cash for it, but I've never seen it. Why? 'Cause I'm not about to pay for it.

  • no one buys pirated DVDs. We pirate them. Duh. And the irony is that pirated DVDs dont have those anti piracy thing

  • I would laugh so hard if you could download a virtual version of the deluxe copy, physical things and all.

  • Thank you for this, this sums up everything bad about those commercials.

  • This is so true!

  • very true bro very true if i see something online and if its good enough i will buy it too

  • totally agree with you mate

  • are you gonna get blade runner on bluray?

  • an advert that says not to download a movie when u hav already paid for ur cinema ticket and are sitting in the cinema!

  • I think it's funny that everyone on here is so up in arms about having to pay 3 bucks for a dvd, when, in the grand scheme of things, it's so insignificant. Just saying.

  • actually downloading stuff like films of the internet without paying for them IS SHAREING kinda like you go on piratebay and get a game that someone is SHAREING

  • They should just pop up an Old Lady waving her finger in the middle of a Porns money shot.lol

  • I like how a Business guy steals the purse.lol 1:52

  • Doesn't matter what the point is.

Telling a bunch of non pedophiles that you shouldn't have sex with kids is no less stupid.

They are telling the people and ONLY the people who bought the products not to steal them. It is nonsensical.

  • EVEROOOOOOOOOONEEEE!!!!!

  • yes, everone.

  • Thank you, I say this every time I by a DVD and some time I ad, "I should have downloaded this move, because than I woulden have to watch this Commercial"

  • "Buying pirated films is stealing"

Of course. That's why I don't buy them. I donwnload them.

  • WORD UP!!!!!!!!

  • @phillipjfry6 lol win

  • I'm only paying for super deluxe dvd's. Any dvd's I get are the used ones from blockbuster. I watch everything else online or in the theater.

  • just pirated district 9.I WANNA BUY IT NAO!

  • I fucking love Blade Runner. We also have hundreds of movies taped on VHS- movies we hired (legally) on blu-ray and DVD have given us enough trouble with like, the disc being scratched or something making it unwatchable, so we took out the VHS and watched it instead. And don't let me get started on demonisation of 'piracy'. I keep telling myself I'm going to blog about it or something but I never get around to it...

  • Comment removed

  • This ad was on The Transporter, which I believe is 20th Century Fox.

  • Ads are so annoying. I don't know if I have ever bought something because of the ads (propably.. ) but if I do remember (bad) ads, I try to avoid that company and it's products as much as possible.

  • yes i agree, honestly i buy the movie i like and if some one tells me bout a movie i download it if i like it ill look for a more legit copy... seriously ive downloaded 90% of the movie i own before i bought them

  • Dude this is so true this what I freaking complain in a movie the only movie that I no of that gives u choice to watch ads (also it's the only disc that have ads in it) at only 1 out of the 3 discs the rest have the Paromont animation the DVD is Ren&Stimpy seasons 1 and 2 uncut

  • Question; if I'm nice enough to actually walk to a DVD store and pay you $30 for a DVD of your movie, will you spare me the fucking anoying "You wouldn't steak a car" ads?

No? That's where those ads ARE?

    Well, forget it then.

  • dd's

  • dd's

  • dd's

  • Very true,. I got into Dir en grey dling their songs off the internet.

Now I buy JAPANESE copies of them and American copies of their CDs for 30 and 15 dollars respectively...

And go to their shows and buy t shirts. All from downloading their songs and videos.

I've also bought several of their DVDs.

  • And the most ironic part, pirated versions have the ads removed, so you'll only have to endure the ads if you bought the DVD.

    Fail.

  • @Member153 Funny, the one I've just downloaded, still had the commercial xD. Watching a add telling piracy is stealing on a pirated version.

  • i hate commercials especially mor furniture for less it comes on twice on every commercial break seriously who'd buy that stuff after so many commercials getting shoved in ur face?

  • So by this commercials logic, me buying a pirated DVD is the same thing as me STEALING a dvd from a video store?

    Uhhh, NO.

Me buying and stealing a dvd are exact OPPOSITE things.

Movie companies are just mad that some people are SICK of paying 20 bucks to buy a dvd. seriously, unless its a special edition of a movie or a bundle pack, there is no reason for any DVD to cost more than ten dollars; i see like 30 of the same DVD sitting in a store and they each cost 20 bucks. THAT MAKES NO SENSE

  • thank you one person says it

  • The strangest thing about this commercial is that it specifically talks about BUYING pirated media. Um. Hello? The entire point of pirating ANYTHING is that you DON'T pay money for it. You download it for free. o__O

  • I love how the Powers That Be genuinely seem to believe that pirating is actually a more heinous crime and bigger threat to American society than murder, robbery and rape, which the same people often treat as no big deal and even as funny and cool.

  • Piracy is also a heavy arsenal of protest, boycott, action and reaction to fight consumerist slavery...and of especially high prices, crappy and buggy products, DRM malware, and certain companies treating their customers like criminals And with these economic crises and when the world system collapses, more people will be concerned with food, water and other necessities. Even sell and barter media content and resources for needfult things. There will be a rise of black markets and barter too.

  • only drm would have to make someone torrent a crack in order to get his legally bought game working (securom can go fuck itself)

  • Yes and I agree.

More people are waking up to the fact that thru the years society, culture, the government and mass media are continually to influence and condition people to be both consumerist and citizen slaves. There are various levels of protest, boycott, and disobediance. Piracy is in a lot of cases the heavy arsenal and call to arms. That people have had enough, are mad and tired of being treated like potential criminals, and just want their legally bought games to work properly.

  • "Make your shit nice, and it will sell!"

B-b-b-but that would require effort! Its much easier to shoot ourselves in the foot and sue and blackmail our own fanbase until we have run ourselves into the ground! How can it go wqrong?

  • LOL! So true! Good (Hollywood) movies are so fucking hard to find nowadays. Which is why I mostly prefer anime, and the occasional Hongkong martial arts flick.

  • If Hollywood started putting out quality movies again then maybe people wouldnt pirate their disposable bullshit anyway. Holly wood had maybe 10 good movies last year. Fuckers.

  • he really should have noted in here, heh...a downloaded movie won't have this fucking ad at the beginning!

  • Exactly. I was thinking the same thing when I was watching this video.

  • I think the same thing goes for CD's: I've bought CD's that I ALREADY downloaded! I want to buy the DVD's from movies/series I downloaded as well.

  • I hate how most people blame the industries for DRM: while it's true that they create it, they wouldn't have to if not for the people who get just about everything electronic illegally. Piracy isn't quite as bad as, say, shooting a policeman or raping a 96-year-old woman, as the commercials would have you think, but it is still illegal.

  • Ah ha ha;..... no. DRM is as effective as a anti-piracy measure as a condom with a hole in it is effective as a birth control measure.

The true reason for DRM is to keep away competition, by making it illegal to find the flaws in the DRM.

  • 0O!?? So you like, think its reasonable and even permit for these companies to place these DRM malware infestations on your computer? So as to potentially screw the operation of your computer. And certain applications you choose to install and run on your computer. DRM was created not to combat piracy but to control and restrict people to buy more of their same product. To kill off the second hand market too. And to keep tabs and information on the buying public.

  • On my PC? Of course not. I'm referring to DVDs. DVD piracy.

  • o0!??

Mosr computers have a DVD device.of some kind. ;) cheers

  • But why watch them on a computer when most TV screens are bigger anyways? And DVDs generally don't install things on your computer when you watch them.

  • DVD devices can also read CD-R discs and also read.write CD-RW discs too. Why should I dole out more money for a bigger tv screen when I have a really nice, cool high resolution 19 inch LCD screen ? This comes down primarily to personal choices and economics as well. However, the cost to produce these blank DVD media discs is cheap. However most of the content or movies are more expensive than a expensive movie ticket. And chockful of ads, promotions and nagging other commercials.

  • Well DRM in itself is illegal, so its the pot calling the kettle black.

  • good point

  • My Sweatin to the Oldies dvd has a "don't copy tapes" ad at the beginning. It's quite dramatic, Richard finds his mom in a warehouse with 50,000 tapes. Awesome. This is the only anti-piracy ad that annoys me.

  • at 3:22 you can see the same dvd from the store

  • so if u pay money to buy the pirted dvd and money can be exchanged for goods how is it classed as stealing???

  • And this, is why I pirate everything.

  • Awesome video. i too hate the anti piracy ads. Now dvds are all being copy protected and i hate the dvds that don;t let you skip the ads and previews since they disable that. i will hit menu and it says operation not possible. its so annoying

  • Ironic how this add only shows on up bought DVDs, and the ripped movies come without this annoyance. In other words, buyers are being punished for doing the right thing.

  • Also: *Buying* pirated movies is retarded! I shouldn't have to explain. I guess both film makers and downloaders get ripped off by the middleman here, which is insidious, but has a sort of poetic justice to it.

  • Loophole to the Anti Piracy ad: The ad is stealing our time. Ad as the ad said "Stealing is against the law."

  • I think the DVD cover of the DVD that the kid was stealing was "Fereg the Groundhound Master of Terror: Special Edition". What they are saying is "Don't buy or download pirated movies." When I watched "Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea, I could not skip past a "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl" ad for the new TV show back then. I think when I went to a discount funiture store, I saw the version of the ad you showed on a Barnyard DVD.

  • Please pass me whatever you are smoking when you are finished with it.

  • @commercialsihate lemme get a hit of that after your through

  • LOL! I liked the ads for 1-800-481-TEASE and 1-800-471-LEGS when you talked about how you can't skip ads on DVDs! Please upload the Piracy Ads in Movie Theaters Commercials I hate!

  • Hahaha, perfect.

    Can I download this?

    No. I can't. That's fucking retarded.

    Make--your--shit--nice.

  • Right, like anyone's going to feel sorry for the poor "rich folk" who aren't making another another few million from their fourth re-release of the same f*cking product. Wigga, please. As for the annoying commercials, the pirated versions are commercial free, that's why *some* people like them. The pirated versions then become the superior product = What you wanted in the first place + no additional BS attached to it. ...Solution, PUT OUT A CLEAN F*CKING PRODUCT. That goes for PC's too.

  • Haha from your mouth to me ears brotha,

  • You know what's more idiotic about these ads? The people who pirates movies WON'T SEE IT. Nope. The only ones who sees it are the people in the cinema or living rooms who have paid for the movie. Gee, thanks for treating me like a criminal when I've paid for your product :/ The reason I pay for them is certainly not because of idiotic commercials like this. Nope, it's because I either want to see the movie on the big screen or get the extra stuff for the DVD.

  • I love that that there are people arguing about piracy ON YOUTUBE, the easiest place to watch movies illegally. I can't count how many movies I've watched in it's entirety here. From the Princess Bride to Crouching Tiger hidden Dragon.

I could also mention that you're arguing on the internet, and of the futility of it, but I won't.

  • Good show and good presentation. The use of the f-word kinda clashed with the tone, though.

  • Finally, someone who talks sense about this whole piracy nonsense. You are awesome.

  • +1 your the best damn corporates

  • Agree 100%. I wouldn't steal a car, but I WOULD make a perfect copy of it and keep that.

  • True that, but it would severely decrease the value of expensive cars like the Ferrari Enzo, because everyone would have one!

  • So? Free market and all that. If you set your price too high, you better lower it or people will go to another source. If something becomes very common, it is no longer worth as much. This is something record labels need to learn. You support a broken system, you're gonna start to lose sales.

  • They're free to go to another product. They're not free to steal yours.

  • You apparently do not understand the difference between theft and piracy. They are not the same. I am not stealing anything. Come back when you understand that.

  • I understand the situation perfectly. They are exactly the same. One instance of a product was purchased, and then multiple individuals take copies of it - therefore the hard working artist's creation is now in the hands of multiple people but was only paid for once.

You can't argue that this isn't theft.

  • Theft: the fraudulent taking of property belonging to another, with intent to permanently deprive the owner of the property.

Can you please explain how piracy permanently deprives the owner of his property? It doesn't. As I said, you do not understand what theft is, come back when you do.

  • You're depriving the creator of reimbursement for an instance of his property released for commercial distribution. Every piece that falls into someone's hands has to be paid for. Five people getting a copy of the material when only one has paid for it, is theft. There's no other way to say it.

Stop trying to rationalize a crime. Piracy can't be justified.

  • I'm not arguing that it's legal, I'm saying it's not theft. The distinction is important. Reimbursement is not property. He does not lose his property, therefore it's not theft. End of story. I don't see how you can't understand that.

Also, you can scream about how it's illegal all you want, it's still gonna happen. People are saying loud and clear that they do not want CDs. The record labels have failed to provide an alternative method of distribution and until they do, piracy will continue.

  • (continued)

The legality or morality is irrelevant. It's gonna happen, it's inevitable. CDs are obsolete, people don't want to buy them. Record labels have resisted internet distribution and have insulted customers with DRM. They are trying to suppress technological solutions rather than embrace them. They're trying to milk every last dollar from a system that is no longer necessary and they're failing. They're sticking with a distribution method that no longer works.

  • From the Oxford English Dictionary: Steal - "To take or appropriate dishonestly anything belonging to another, whether material or immaterial."

    From Websters:

"STEAL may apply to any surreptitious taking of something and differs from the other terms by commonly applying to intangibles as well as material things"

And the record companies DO provide alternative methods. But even Columbia, that has embraced download sales, is going under. Stealing is stealing.

  • Pirating vs stealing a $10 DVD:

Piracy: Pirate buys DVD, copies it, 20 other people download it.

    Amount store gains: $10

Theft: Thief steals DVD, store no longer has DVD to sell.

    Amount store gains: -$10

Maybe you think that the pirate has actually cost the store more money than the thief, because of the people who are downloading the movie from him rather than buying it. Thing is, they wouldn't buy it either, because the entire reason they're pirating it is because that's free.

  • Is it so fucking hard to understand that it's theft if those twenty people now have possession of the DVD without having paid the creator for it? That is the definition of theft - taking someone's property without reimbursement.

Seriously, I can't imagine how stupid you would have to be to not make that simple connection.

  • But that's the whole point. They're not TAKING the DVD, they're COPING the DVD. The store still has the original DVD.

  • If you're too stupid to understand the argument I've made multiple times on this video, and keep repeating the same inane bullshit that every other kiddie here has been spamming, then you're not even worth my effort.

  • You're the one repeating the same argument over and over again and then calling everyone else stupid when they disagreee with you.

  • I'm making the argument that needs to be made - the only one that is rooted in facts and logic. None of you can get it through your thick skulls. What else is there to call you?

  • bobsnake's right. The people who copy dvd's are people who wouldn't buy it in the first place. Sure, they're watching something they should have been paying for, but otherwise they wouldn't have seen it at all.

Btw, another interesting note on the ad itself: dvdboxes in video stores are EMPTY. The actual discs are behind the counter.

So the thief in the ad is taking home an empty dvd case, LOL.

  • Haha all Nil can do is call people names when they disagree with him. Technically it's not stealing because the Original guy bought the DVD. It's more like sharing ;). Like recording a movie off public access TV.

  • If you're going to keep saying things that stupid, you shouldn't expect anything but insults. If you can't make a rational argument based in reality, nobody's going to waste their time responding like you're an intelligent human being worth arguing with. You clearly have no understanding or respect for private property rights.
