@truckingsonofagun I don't. I love sports. I just don't like to watch some stranger I don't know play sports for me. I would rather play my own sports with my chums & have my own fun. Spectator sports is NOT sports... it's a BUSINESS.

i am a parent..i would like all my kids to show appreciation towards me for what i have done/do for them...my youngest son just got his ass kick out for being an ass hole..(sense of entitlement)...homey don't play that shit...im the one that kicked him to the curb...mom is not happy...but...she agrees.....good thing or...........

KH, you're such a hypocrite. I agree with you to some degree, but it makes sense to praise sports figures. These people are at the pinnacle of human strength. They're the modern day gladiator. Jesus Christ. And second, you make it sound like Gaga and such have done nothing at all for charity. They do PLENTY. I don't expect them to do ANYTHING. @extion Majority of church donations are given for the same reasons celebrities give to them. It brings them down a tax bracket. Without that kind of incentive, do you really think so many organizations could be funded? At the end of the day, the people in need do get help from those donations, and I think it's wrong to argue about them. If you want to argue, how about bitching about how the majority of all donations go to things OTHER than the people who need it. Don't bitch about the donator

Just giving my 2 cents here, not trying to cause trouble, but I have a small bit of feedback. When it comes to the anti-twitter pro-charity topic you were discussing, I think there's more to it. Yes these figures have made money off of worship, bit in history almost every one raises to power using the same methods of worship or renown for some amazing feat, and while at that summit of power, can do good or bad. I think those celebrities are TRYING to PROMOTE good. If people give, they may again.

we like celebertys because they make us feel like we can do what they do. some people like them because maybe they were raised in a bad home and violence but then found a talent that they were really good at and took advantage and followed what they loved doing. i have pictures of surfers on my wall because i love surfing and i admire there hard work and ability to surf. maybe if you play basketball or football you would understand how hard it is but obviously you dont.

When one of the local basketball teams down here wins several games in a row they end up getting a huge parade out in LA, and some of the clowns I work with think this is a good reason to blow off work, so they can go to the parade. Sports are only there to replace and channel our need to be associated with a tribe so we dont act out in society. If that distraction wasn't there then your country would be a very different place. Just think of what could have been done if all these people did some thing else.
