Yeah those darn CFL's play havoc with AM (Broadcast as it was known on these models). So do computers and HD Tv's. Same exact model I have and it is a good one. Thanks for showing us.
I still have this radio, Great sound and picks up lots of shortwave signals. i got mine new in 1982 and it still works. Keep away from fluorescent bulbs! I liked the world clock on top to keep GMT time , the lights and the antenna connections. I think it was the last year of TransOceanic Radios.
