  • Paperback writer backwards!

  • it means that 60 morons put there and if they hate this song, they hate The Beatles!

  • Was this video recorded in the same location as Paperback Writer?

  • its funny the backwards part is the begging of the song

  • Because of Paul McCartney and John Entwistle, I want to learn bass.

  • hthththththejIWAkns{ 'Aq*(H*qbqwhjqjhwhjwqjhwqjhi39r9999999999999999999urrrrrrreijndcjabndaaaaaa,,,,bdnzbzbxzbxxdgsiugdispeowowowowooowooowhdxilbchjxcbnxujbcnxciucbuibcfiucxbobafuckyouhapsuihgsouihg justin bieber a9s)UPWhgiopgiuepwahaiug

  • 60 people hate the beatles

  • @MultiDollar1234 That just means that there are 60 douchebags out there...

  • I once had Paul McCartney hair like that. :) ;) :D XD

  • More crap drumming from Dingo Starr.

  • @ThroughRock

    Crap comment, more like.

  • "Thats the first record with backwards music on it" said Thomas as he puffed into the station.

  • This was one helluva 2 sides of a record - a mini masterpiece. The other of course being McCartney's "Paperback Writer". However, John Lennon's "Rain" just about edges it. Good guitar riff, strong bass line, fab drumming, topped with John's "Dylan" infuenced vocal. The Beatles weren't just singing about love and holding hands any more and this single for me represents one of the finest moments from this greatest of all bands. We will never see their like again.

  • this version sounds better than the remaster

  • Okay, on a rainy day/night go outside put on this song. Walk down the street with this in your ears. You'll feel like your in a music video oh & you'll feel like a badass too! ;D

  • this also plays when its raining here

  • Nothing like hearing John Lennon's voice backwards..as long as we are all still hearing it!

  • my hair is as long as johns!!

  • 60 dislikes? haven't you heard the theory, there was the Beatles, and then there was everyone else.

  • this is especially for the ones that don't have nothing better to do other than complain about the weather

  • Sorry to be back so soon. It's one of the best drum sounds I have ever heard. I will be quite now in Bonny Scotland.

  • I never got the theory that Oasis were influenced by the Beatles until I heard this tune. Can imagine Liam, hands behind his back belting this one out.

  • Beyond cool!

  • Mr. Harrison at 2:05. Oh man! The Beatles define the word cool in this video.

  • I hate the rain with a passion... but i like this song.

  • MTV is garbage. It will always be for the musically challenged.

  • @efremjosecedillo It's kindergarten news that everyone is different and that everyone has different musical tastes!

  • first popular song with backwards vocals

  • Ringo's studly strut, Lennon taking off his glasses. This video screams sex appeal !

  • /watch?v=XJqoGIEzKN4 I strongly recommend looking at this guys videos because he has a whole playlist of the making behind all of the songs which includes the layers of overdubbed material separately taken and put together for each final outcome during the revolver period. This song just so happens to be the one im linkin you guys up with. Think the bass and drums are good now? Take a listen to it at its normal speed....fuckin amazing!

  • I love your music George, but now MTV is garbage

  • @MsSusi3000 I'm pretty sure he was being facetious :)

  • 0:47 they're british alright

  • @SagradaMascarita What's your point? Wait...oh, I get it! McCartney fell of his scooter and cracked his tooth, so you've used that as the launchpad for a devastatingly witty jibe about the British having bad teeth! Comedy genius! I love national steroetyping too, fatty.

  • @TheMightyHartley hell yea that shits funny, oh and i'm not american :(

  • Holy fucking shit that is amazing music.

  • @1223Melo that's what i thought when i first heard this song in March!

  • @bellefemme87 Lmao.

  • Listen to the bass...

  • @bcwabass

    Dat bass.

  • its not getter better than this.Ever!!!so get stupid if you dont get it!!

  • MTV???...Very Funny....MTV Stood for Music Television and YES it WAS a TV Show back in the 80's and early 1990's.

    MTV a Music channel...LOL...:-)

    It was a HUGE Success!!!

  • George :(

  • MTV ? Is that a MUSIC channel ?

  • Where is MTV now!

  • where was the clip made?

  • Linda ! Os Beatles, a melhor banda de TODOS OS TEMPOS, a poesia, a musica, o talento, tudo isso está impresso nessa lenda e que vive até hoje em nossos corações. Rain, I Don't Mind

  • Blur won the britpop war. But Oasis out-sold them. Plus Oasis tried too hard to be the Beatles, in that way they were nothing like the Beatles. If John Lennon was reincarnated I dont think he would dwell on thier 1966 sound, lol.

  • @meucury8eye I think Oasis did fine, yes they had a Beatles sheen; but them "Trying too hard" was them putting their own creative twist on their music; just my opinion,

  • @DawnRainWasHere Well..now that I think of it,they did try a bit hard.

  • just a great feelgood song I love it could understand why everybody loves the bettles so much. Now I understand and what a loss when john lennon got murdered!!!

  • I like this version better tha the 2009 stereo version, it ruins the sound. You ohn in the other one. That's exactly what George said, too.

  • on 0:47 paul MCcartneys teeth are messed up because of his car accident

  • One of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE Beatle songs.

  • The Beatles singing a great song in the top of their ages

  • !sdaeh rieht edih dna nur yeht semoc niar eht fi

  • This song is a living thing. The drums are like splashing through puddles, the bass line is like water warbling through the gutters, the guitar is like the rain drops falling from on high where the sun is smiling in the background. And Lennon is hanging out in the doorway. It's brilliant.

  • @robertschelly Absolutely- freaking masterpiece

  • @robertschelly - Nicely put Rob. What a gift Lennon was to the world.

  • John Lennon really??

  • @masterpray28 Yes.

  • It's actually quite funny that B-side has more views than its A-side :)

  • Beatles

  • wish this was on revolver

  • wish this was on revolver

  • Definitely their best B side (although i'm sure it was a Double-A)

  • was this song only released as b side on the paperback writer single or did it appear on an album? ..school work

  • @verbaledge it only appeared as a Bside to paperback writer, not on an album!!! only appeared on an album in the 1988 release of BEATLES PAST MASTERS Vol 1 & 2.

  • @uglybus7 thanks for the info. i dont know a lot of their music, just the well known stuff

  • What's wrong with Paul's tooth?? It looks chipped!!!

  • Paul has a missing piece on his front tooth. the same happened to me some years ago! teehee *-*

  • I miss you Georgie.

  • they werent bad for a bunch of american wanta bees. beatles and justin beeberz. are cut from the same cloth. COMMERCIALIZATION and you too are tired of the same ol song youve been hearing before you grown pubes. lolforever!

  • Sounds like every Oasis record ever made

  • @AetherElemental this cant sound like oasis for this came first ... oasis can sound like this but sadly they dont ... everyone likes to say they do because its the closest todays terrible music has come and they once recruited ringos son for a short time who is now with the who ... oasis is yet another terrible new age band who will never compete

  • @caulinrocker1 the beatles and oasis are the best bands!!

  • @the47monkeys everyone has their own opinion ... i just dont hear it

  • @caulinrocker1 Oasis is another terrible NEW age band? Are you completely retarded? Oasis was the last TRUE rock'n'roll band! Whole Britain is proud of Oasis!

  • @DannyMadFerIt 90s and newer is considered new age ... and im personally not a fan ... and they wont ever even come near the beatles

  • @caulinrocker1 You're right they WON'T... but they did between 1993 and 1997

  • @DannyMadFerIt they never did to begin with and have no hope of doing so in the future

  • @DannyMadFerIt Is Britain proud of Blur, because back in the '90s, THEY were my modern day Beatles....not Oasis.

  • @MattHatter errrm nah Ocs lol... seriously

  • @Thecrimson08 Aw man, OCS was and is an INCREDIBLE band. Truly awesome! Those two albums, "Mossley Shoals" and "Marchin' Already," were just absolute classics. And I listened to them religiously alongside Blur. That's saying a lot for an American because they made NO waves over here whatsoever. But Blur had that Beatles diversity. And you got to know all four of the guys like you did The Beatles. I awaited a new Blur album thinking "What are they gonna do next?"

  • You guys should check out the cover of this song by Chapterhouse ;)

  • The guitar sounds like the precursor to 90's alternative music.

  • This song was covered by The Sunshine Company ("Back On The Street Again"

"Happy", and the original version of "Up, Up, And Away") and also by Lori Saunders("Bobbie Jo Bradley"#2 on Petticoat Junction) using the backing track from The Sunshine Company's version

  • this being the 4th after Day Tripper,We Can Work It Out and Paperback Writer

  • at the start where Harrison says "In a way The Beatles invented MTV" its because this is off the Anthology Videos/Dvds and they were just talking about how The Beatles had invented the music (promo) video so they could go on tv shows around the world without travelling to the country

  • great harmony and melody. love this.

  • lol ringo walking like a boss

  • @Kryptonitexxxxx ringo isnt signing shit these days. ever see the video "no more fan mail, ringo starr?" wheres pete best when ya need him?

  • Wait a second the m in MTV stands for music? I though it stood for maternal.

  • I absolutely love the Beatles but does anyone else find it ironic that in the music video for the song, "Rain", that it is not raining? ;)

  • @Rassilon1980 so you dont love the Beatles? go listen to Britney then

  • Did anyone notice Paul's front tooth is missing? It's at the 49th second of the song

  • @burkewoman He was in a motorbike accident.

  • Did anyone notice Paul's front tooth is missing?

  • Min 1:20 me enamore ¡¡¡¡ :D <3 <3 <3

  • the best 'B' side ever.

  • @orik125 Cool thanks

  • @paloma598 Its Ringo Starr

  • Comment removed

  • This is one of the best B-sides ever.

In my opinion, the best B-side ever is "The Masterplan" by Oasis.

  • @DannyMadFerIt this and "the masterplan" are both my favorite b sides. i really can't choose which one is better! they're both awesome!!!

  • my dad looked like paul maccartney when he was younger, why can't i look like paul mccartney

  • which one is ringo, john and george.i just know paul

  • @paloma598 0:14 is John,0:29 is Ringo,and 0:57 is George.:) Hope this helped.

  • @BeatlesFanGirl11 thank you so much

  • paul's teeth at 0:49 ? looks like lloyd from dumb and dumber

  • love this song

  • Ringos drumming on this is absolutely amazing.

  • ringo did exactly what he needed to do

  • EMTSEEVEEee

  • THE BEATLES = PELÉ E O FUTEBOL BRASILEIRO.

    BEAUTIFUL

    WONDERFULL

    SENSACIONAL!!

    FANTASTICO!!!

  • uhm.. anyone else notice ringo's superior sexyness..?

  • I start singing this every time it starts to rain...

  • Um.. may I ask why their teeth look so bad? Damn! Especially John and Paul's! Then again british people are know for that. No affense.

  • @surfingbird922

Because Paul has got a car accident in 1966. That's why his teeth "look so bad". Since this accident, some people pretend that he's dead... Besides, have you ever seen smokers teeth ?

I'm not british, And don't take this bad but your comment is rubbish

  • @GlasseOnion paul wrong not had an accident he pulled the tooth

  • @surfingbird922 umm idk what happened to pauls teeth he prob had an accident. and what the hell do you think is wrong with Johns teeth? I loved h is smile and always have.

  • @Mawhera wtf are you talking abaut???

  • classic

  • I dont get it?Its a band of four.Is Paul a great bassplayer?John on guitar?George?Ringo on the drums,well...he was the best drummer in liverpool at that time and im glad he said yes to be a member of the group. And the 4 made some amazing music together that they never could make alone. So please, dont do the "paul is best" no "john is much better" no "george made it happend".Beatles was a band and we never will see something like them.

  • Is that a Justin Bieber sweep-over at 0:57?

  • The Beatles are timeless!

  • Awesome song as usual!!!

  • I meant thumbs up

  • @boneywasa you meant thumbs up you made that mistake two times

  • @boneywasa Yeah dude I did, but I guess you get what I was trying to say

  • I meant thimbs up

  • Thumbs if you restart this song at least twenty times cuz the hook is just plain sick! (That means good!!!!!)

  • For all those people hating on Ringo, Google

"THIRTEEN REASONS TO GIVE RINGO SOME RESPECT" by John Bryant

& look at the wikipedia entry Ringo Starr Drumming Skills

  • I miss them

  • @TheSilhouette09 But they're not gone.

  • @GarretSlarrity Their music is not gone. But George and John is. :(

  • @TheSilhouette09 Their bodies may be gone, but their souls that exist in the form of music will live forever.

  • @GarretSlarrity BEST COMMENT EVER. :) Thank you for saying that.

  • @TheSilhouette09 You're welcome.

  • @GarretSlarrity

..Paul and Ringo are still alive...

  • @d3pr3ss3d3mo I was referring to George and John.

  • @GarretSlarrity Whoa, don't jump the gun there. Paul and Ringo are still around.

  • @jamusthebartender I know, I was referring to John and George. (See the comment I replied to.)

  • @TheSilhouette09 me too and im 15. he beatles were so talented and the made music BECAUSE THEY LIKED IT NOT FOR MONEY . o hate my generation thinking so girl taking her clothes of and dancing around on stage and pretending to sing is talent huhhh yeah right. I love the beatles soo much and alot of other woodstock generation bands i love a lot of 90s too. and do you know what happened to pauls teeth? it looked like it hurt! hes still cute though even though i think John is the cutest

  • @kozmicblues14 Yes I'm also 15 and I'm an avid fan of The Beatles and classical music. Glad to know that you also love them! You know, I'm the only one in school to appreciate beautiful music from the old times. Our generation sucks, how they adore songs that tells about sex and drugs. I mean, is that real music? Compare present songs to Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Clapton, Wham, Carpenters and others. Man! (hey, I also like Janis Joplin hehe) We were born too late bro. I wish time machine existed.

  • @TheSilhouette09 me too they need to invent a time machine somehow but idk if they actuallly could . i highly doubt it i dont think its possible

  • @kozmicblues14 Yeah I guess it's not possible. But thanks to youtube we could still watch these awesome videos for free. :) Long live The Beatles, my friend.

  • @normalpsychology sorry becose i was mean to you....it,s becose i love the beatles ... by the way what do oyu listen to???

  • @luky673 I listen to alternative rock, techno, rap, classical, 80's, and electronic. How are you?

  • 0:48 look at paul's tooth. am i the only one here who think that it looks very weird?

  • @Dearhunter43 wtf, no, I don't like it or want it.

  • I thought I knew all their songs, but this I don't remember

    great video

    previeuw

  • @normalpsychology FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!! i don,t like you!

  • I don't like bad teeth or the Beatles.

  • @normalpsychology lol then dont comment

  • @toxicgirligirl I like how you weren't mean to me, but funny and nice. You're probably a very, very good person. I like that. How old are you?

  • @normalpsychology why the eff do you care?

  • @toxicgirligirl I'm just curious, jeez. You don't have to tell me if you don't want. :(

  • @normalpsychology well then slip into your shade and sip your lemonade. ass

  • @Dearhunter43 Shade? Hm. I don't like lemonade, by the way...

  • @normalpsychology drink it motherfuck.

  • i dont get it! people back then didnt get pimples or acne but now every one has it

  • @jshalander McDonalds

  • @jshalander the pollution back then wasn't as bad as now

  • Michael Stipe once said that The Beatles meant nothing to him. Very silly thing to say! The Beatles' influence was so pervasive that Stipe probably didn't even realize that all of REM's music sounds like a re-working of "Rain".

  • pet best was way better though

  • Ringo loved his playing on this song. So do I.

  • The lyrics are barbed under dope shaded mask.
