tapioca is made of the roots.. of.. well it's tapioca roots, really. it's a jelly-ish kind of thing that is made of the root of a plant. it doesn't taste much on its own but it takes the taste of whatever you put it with.. i guess.. it's used in deserts a lot.

Tapioca and rice puddings have a similar taste, but entirely different textures.

I think that here it's a kind of pudding with tiny balls made of tapioca root in it. The balls are kindy chewy-squishy, and they're usually very small when in pudding.

There are LOADS of dialects spoken in different areas, cantonese included. Cantonese seems to be widely used because its the main language in Hongkong, but its still a dialect of the main language chinese.
