@Doctor699 its harder to model a real person. although inaccurate, i find him funnier and more pleasing this way (it's a fictional animation right ?). if you couldn't have imagined him that fat, someone had to!
Very nicely done, however, one small critique, Kennedy Space center is only about 10' above sea level. The hills in the animation are not there in the real world. Just an observation.
@durdle1701 details are important, and this is one detail i haven't paid attention to. I did the hills so that i dont have to make any other surroundings, but you are right, its highly unrealistic. Thanks for pointing that out!
@maniaku1206 In the movie Apollo 13 just before the launch you get an excellent view of the area. It is so neat to see your film though, brings back a lot of memories when our family lived in Satellite Beach, 20 miles south of the cape. You did a great job, I'd much rather see my tax dollars going towards the space because we all reap the benefits many fold.
thanks. i did it in 3ds max (read description). i cant tell you exactly how i did this because i can't make a tutorial for a 2 month project, but you cant make something like this without some graphic designing experience
as i know the tracks are unnamed. they have been recorded especially for the movie. but their composer is James Horner. Google him. I found all the soundtracks and some sound effects used in the movie on torrents.
nice job! ....although I'm sure you probably could have made the flame length a bit longer since in a real launch it starts off about 2 times the length of the rocket and soon grows to 4 times its length
That was cool!

Very cool! it's nice to remember the days when bravery meant conquering the unknown instead of killing. The astronauts are still MY heroes!

Wow, this is amazing!
that must have taken years to render, my PC takes about an hour to render 30 seconds of video!
I downloaded a free trial of 3DS max, wish I could afford it let alone do this!
