it's fantastic how Richard plays the viola so naturally O.O
usually the viola looks to big compared to the violin, but in this video, it's the other way around because the I think the violist is just wonderful :)
please, intonation is only one aspect of beautiful music, there so many others that are part of the totality, unless the intonation is so bad, minor problems can be ignored considering how getting the pitch perfect for instruments such as these is IMPOSSIBLE. no, there is no such thing as perfect pitch, only an illusion ~ this from sound scientists... whatever you call them...
I don't know what all those guys saying this was a bad performance are smoking! Getting the notes right in a piece like this alone is amazing. But to play it so well is outstanding. I think they should be proud. And so what if that girl holds her bow a little different, all that matters is that you sound good! So what if she doesn't have the cookie cutter technique. Sheesh. What matters is the sound and feeling. I think they did great! :D
I would have to disagree. Though Richard O'Neil is the real highlight here, her playing is not at all bad (she is a professional after all). I also don't see anything wrong with the violinist's posture. All she's doing is moving. Richard O'Neil isn't moving much in this video, but when you see him perform a virtuosic solo, you will see that he moves quite a bit, and will sometimes stay in one awkward looking position for a few phrases. But Chuanyun Li wins for the craziest movements.

gorgeous violinplaying also, both players with delightful and sensitive sound.
Baroqueplayers often take the modern bow far up, because they are accustomed to the ligther and shorter baroquebow.
