Anything named after a sponsor that you can tell right off the bat is a corporate sponsor sucks, period. Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati is a good example of a stadium that has a good sponsor name (Great American is an insurance company). Fits the Reds perfectly, seeing as they are the oldest professional sports franchise in the United States.

Yeah, they had to replaced by modern facilities, but they should stick with tradition and keep the NAMES, or, with a new name a name of someone tied to that town's tradition. Players or Owners. Not a cheap here-today-gone-tomorrow corporation. More to follow.

In an ideal world, as I mentioned in my post below, Boston's arena would be called Boston Garden II. Much like Madison Square Garden IV, also not the original MSG, it's actually the 4th one. But the point is they keep and respect the tradition! Heck, in this generation of the selling out to corporations, the Yankees said heck with that, the new stadium will still be called Yankee Stadium. The New York Giants just did the same. They realized TRADITION is by far more an important brand!

And when you end up with some corporate name stuck on an arena, it just just cheapens the experience. I'm a Boston fan. For the last 15 years it has been a bitter pill to go from the original Boston Garden to have it replaced by the awful FleetCenter/TD Banknorth/TD Garden names. In 15 years, 33 name changes. Yeah! Please just name it Boston Garden II forever!

some infos about the Wankdorf stadium: this was the name of the old stadium in Bern, and was holding the legendary final of the world cup in 54 when Germany had beaten the big favorites Hungary coming from 0:2 (miracle of Bern)

the name of the new stadium is "stade de Suisse", what imo blows...why are they using a french name in the german part of Switzerland? It's also a copy of the "stade de France" in Paris which is their national stadium, but the stade de Suisse isn't a national stadium
