@panerudepon Wow....I cant believe that DUMBASS just said that... Sorry, but you gotta be one FUCKING IDIOT so say Zelda are for nerds!!! Seriously, its the greatest thing ever conceived by human imagination. and IM not just saying that for the sake of saying it. Thanks for posting this up man.

@EmOclown07 HEY ITS NOT NICE TO CALL PEOPLE NERDS JUST BECAUSE THEY LIKE ZELDA! KEPP YOUR COMMENTS TO YOURSELF! IF YA DONT HAVE ANYTHING NICE TA SAY THEN DONT SAY IT! DID YOUR MOM EVER TAUGHT YA THIS?
@chuckels1067 you'd have to transpose it up a whole step, so like the first note, which is written here as a Bb, you'd have to play as a C. I know because I play clarinet.
@kcpenguin64 lucky... lol luckily I'm not that hard at transposing, I'm also ear trained so I can just play it by ear once I figure it out, but yeah, I would hate to see someone who plays the alto sax having to read this
@neverWOAHoh actually, since the treble line is higher pitched, it will automatically be heard, so you have to play the bass a little higher than the treble, it will give a perfect blend of the music, which it did in the video. Kinda like a pyramid, you need your heavier part to be biggest, the bottom, and your lighter part to be lighter, the top, so the pyramid can stand without falling!
I think it definitely needs triplets as they're easier to read and count. I believe it also needs a harmonic line underneath the melody. It is a piano, so you can play more than one line in the same hand.
We interupt this argument over how cool or lame this video is to bring you advice about life (cough cough* n clears throeat)....IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THIS VIDEO......GET THE HELL OUT OF YOUTUBE N STOP CRASHING EVERYONES JOY.......please enjoy your day @....where ever the hell you are:D
After hearing that I realised that in the main theme there are 128 (2 to the power of 7) used notes, is this a coincidence, or was it intentional for storage?
Seems interesting that it seems the writer of the theme used the maximum amount of notes possible.
I'll try this on my sax but for some reason, I really hate flats. With me its not gb its F# and its c# not Db. I guess its just a sax thing though so I might as well get used to them lol
For you and the others who are pointing out about no triplets, I'm pretty certain he *was* using triplets.

@justynickel72 A triplet is played for 2/3 the duration of a non triplet. The easiest way to think about it though is like this: three triplets take up the space of 2 non-triplets. 3 triplet 1/8 notes takes up only 2/8 worth of duration in a measure. To be precise, a triplet 1/8 note takes up 1/12 note of duration. That however, is totally bogus in music; 1/12 notes don't exist! Anyway, hope that helps somewhat
@adognamedsally that not the easiest way to think of a triplet, it confused me and i know what a triplet is. by the way your wrong too a triplet is a quarter note divided into three equal beats, and why are you going on about non triplets you can say quarter notes hun i'm sure panerudepon knows what they are
@neverWOAHoh Well yeah... however it is more general than that. For example, a quintuplet grouping of sixteenth notes is played over the duration of 1 eighth note. A triplet grouping of eighth notes is played over the duration of a single quarter note. along this line of logic, a 32nd note grouping is played over the space of a single 16th note, and so on.
@neverWOAHoh Also, non-triplets just refers to regular eighth notes, which I used for the sake of clarity. One last thing though as well; I like to think about the actual duration of the note (in fractions or decimals or whatever) just so that I can definitively say how long a note should be, even if it is unintuitive and pretty much useless when going to play a piece.
Non-tripleted notes to allow a better distinction on timing, but not the tune.If you were trying a greater clarity of the timing you'd need more than semi-quavers. So at the least it should be same length notes of joined demi semi's to hemi's. But it's not neccesary.
@adognamedsally That's a very limited, complicated explanation. You have to keep in mind that different time signatures exist (3/2 3/4 5/4 6/8 7/8 etc.) So explaining what a triplet is using fractions can create a lot of confusion. However, your explanation works perfectly for 4/4 time signature, which this song is in. A triplet is basically splitting a division of the measure into three equal parts ("division of measure" meaning a whole, half, quarter, eighth, and so on.)
@JEWong47 Well, along that line of thought, what is a quarter note except for a note which spans the duration of one fourth of a standard measure? Why should referring to other, odd-groupings fractionally be any different? The whole of music pedagogy assumes that 4/4 is standard.
@adognamedsally Because a quarter note is not "one fourth of a standard measure". That's why the American names don't make any sense (in Europe it's called a Crochet), because the quarter note doesn't have a standard size. If the song is in 2/4 then a quarter note is half of the measure. If the song is 6/8 then the quarter note is 1/3rd of the measure.
The only reason it's called a quarter note is because it is 1/4 of a whole note.
@Wolfan00 Well, I don't believe that that disproves what I said. The whole system is an arbitrary assignment of divisions. It's all relative at some point. However, the standard is 4/4 (I can't emphasize this enough), hence it is called 'common time,' and often notated with a capital C where the time signature goes. A whole note spans the entire duration of a measure written is standard meter (not subjective here; 4/4 is a standard meter; 4/4 = standard).
@theskank64 MAybe because the next note is an e flat or possibly an e sharp (F) or maybe they think that an f-flat sounds cooler than an e natural IDK THat is what i think plus the key signiture can be a big factor
this sounds like the smosh legend of zelda. :p

When i play this on piano, it sounds kinda boring. It needs more notes eg. multiple notes played with each hand. anyways.

@theskank64 MAybe because the next note is an e flat or possibly an e sharp (F) or maybe they think that an f-flat sounds cooler than an e natural IDK THat is what i think plus the key signiture can be a big factor

@theskank64 C-flat major or A-flat minor without delving into theoretical keys.

@theskank64 that would be an e natural
