you need to do those jumper series shows at fin ridge this year! thats what im doing with chance, that and the x country schooling that you also do during them. im giving up hunters this year, hes just been a school horse too long to be any good at it. lizzys making me use a stronger leverage bit for cross country tho xP THAT should be umm... interesting
Hahah fun! Yeah we're doing eventing. We have to use a stronger bit for Phantom for xc. We usually use a snaffle. But for xc we have to use a Pelham(sp?)
yeah we were considering a pelhem for xc too, but i havnt been to the barn in about 2 weeks, today was the first in a while because ive had drivers ed for 3 and a half hours after school every day so i havnt had TOO much time to consider what bit we need for him. i dont need a stronger bit for the jumpers, even tho there isnt a fence, what a lot of people dont realize is his bits already pretty strong, wer just gonna need a little extra for xc xP
ah ur so lucky phantoms big! i wish i could like make chance grow! im actually probably going to switch my lease to midge in february =( mrs.fricks been getting on me forever about the fact that ive outgrown chance... and it doesnt help that im doing the rated shows this year and chance isnt exactly a show pony... midge was an A circuit hunter and also did the 3'6 eq medals... ugh if i DO switch over... im gonna really miss the bucking, midge is gonna be pretty boring after 3 years of chance xD
Ohh. You shouldn't switch. Who cares what Lisa says. Lol. When I was leasing buddy, I asked her how much $ he would be, and she was just like-"doesn't matter, you are way too big for him" I mean I kind of was, but I still rode him. && Chance is fun. But midge seems great for shows, just kind of boring.
she IS boring, but with her i could actualy do the hunters and maybe do some As this year, Chance i wouldnt take NEAR an A show... but then i couldnt take midge to my jumper shows =( and chance WOULD be seriously fun to take xcounty xD just one gallop in the field with him would be harder than everything put together with midge. and lisas not the only one getting on me about it, i have an uncle that trains on the A circuit in conneticut and hes REALLY been getting on me about that this year...
Didn't you say he's only three? You really shouldn't be jumping him at this age, especially that high. It can cause him damage in the long run. (lameness and/or arthritis.)
We don't jump him that frequently. He's 3 3/4 but I know what you mean. We're just getting him really used to everything. It may seem like I jump him all the time, but its just I only bring my camera when we jump cus its more excitting xD
Cus we were gonna do hunters, but he paddles at the trot so he wouldn't place very well. But my interests can change, maybe we'll end up being reining champions :DD Doubt it but whatever! :D
Yeah, the thing is, he's pretty slow. Lol. Its takes a lot to get him moving. But he's getting better. So we're just gonna keep trying! :) The other horse in my videos that my trainer/friend rides is a great jumepr
Sorry, I accidently removed your comment :P My bad! Anyway, I hope he doesn't grow out of it! I love his face <3 He'll probably get lighter in color though :(

Oh, well its your decision. If you really want to show hunters, ride Midge.

Sorry, i accidently deleted your comment. I keep getting reply&remove confused. lol.
Anyway, that's your opinion, and i apreciate the comment, but it gets alittle annoying hearing it again & again from teenagers.
canteringaimlessly 3 years ago
Sorry, I wasn't sure how many others told you that. :P
Its just a shame if he would end up becoming lame, you know? Especially with as much potential as he has.
KateAndVay 3 years ago
Yeah. I know. We take great care of him&& i doubt he's gonna get lame. He's almost four, and we don't jump him frequently or high at all. :)
canteringaimlessly 3 years ago
Thats good. :D
What do you plan on doing with him as he gets older? Show wise, lol. :]
KateAndVay 3 years ago
Uhm. We're gonna try eventing ;]

canteringaimlessly 3 years ago
Lol, thats okay!
Eventing is fun. :D Any type of show is fun, lol. Im sure in lower-rated shows he'd be fairly well for hunters. Or jumpers!

Lol, sounds just like some of the horses at my barn. :P
