  • "You will feel like an idiot.".

I had my first lesson and I agree with you, dude. *nods solemnly*

Doesn't help that I am Asian.

  • When you're in 1st gear and you switch to second, do u do the same as if you start the car to go? Like, add gas while letting go of clutch? Or do you have to full remove from clutch before adding gas?

  • can you just got straight from neutral to 3rd or 4th etc??

  • @longer757 You can go straight to any gear from neutral

  • Amusingly simplistic animations and other illustrations! :-D Haha!

  • Another contradiction (about being in neutral): "It can neither go forward nor in reverse..." then... "...free to move in whatever direction gravity so chooses." Well then it still IS going forward or backwards, isn't it?

So... we need a little phrase like "...under engine power" to be inserted there.

  • "One cannot be used without using the other..." Not true! How many times have you used the clutch without yet using the stick? MANY!

  • Could you please do a tutorial on how to make my car go vroom-vroom? Please help.

  • Anyone who's obsessed with teaching people how to drive a manuel has no life, it's a fucking tranny man who gives a shit about what you drive.. fuck...

  • Lies... You dont need the handbreak just keep the car in gear when turned off and the reverse is different on all cars my for example is PUSH down the Stick and use the same slot as 1st gear... other cars have you lift up and use the 1 slot for reverse... don't use the hand break in cold temps it has a chance of getting frozen and then u will be fucked... also don't use 3 4 or 5th gear when leaving your car parked on a hill it has a chance of rolling... i always use 1st gear never used HandBreak

  • @ricka15 dude its spelt BRAKE....not BREAK!!!! smh....you wanna give advice at least get the spelling correct.

  • LOL You have to drive stick before an auto in my country xD

  • Thanks a lot, this video really helped. Started lessons this week lol!!!

  • 3:57 your "now remove your right leg from the brake pedal" sounded like "never move your right leg from the brake pedal" I got confused.sorry I'm really new to this. And I want to learn how to and you there sir just gave me a clearer view on how to drive manual.thank you.

  • Fantastic. Really helpful! Wish you had covered braking!

  • lol boo boom klack klack boo boom

  • U didn't feed it.

  • Humor always makes it enjoyable and easy to learn . Yes in Australia we have our gear stick thingy in the left hand side. To those who has a weak hand or boys it will be challenging cos you need to have strength to pull em .

  • OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH I WAS A NUTSHELL BEFORE WATCHING THIS AND NOW I KNOW THANNNKKKKSSSS!

  • This is the best tutorial by far

  • @xXhunter47Xx That is true (:

  • Comment removed

  • @Tyler77894 it's actually called manual

  • @raptornuggets its called both some people prefer manual over standard (like me) but others like standard over manual..

  • its not (stick) its actually (standard)

  • Very nice Video :)

  • 1000th like!!!

  • I am 12 and my mom took me many times at night to a empty parking lot and i was driving with manual....it is very easy......

  • Automatic is better, at list you won't have to masturbate the stick lol

  • Good video helpfull lol getting bSics down

  • I loved it! You have a future in show business. I'd certainly watch your show.

  • I'm 13 and I've driven a John deere pro gator (standard) and it wasn't that bad it wS fine until I had to park in the garage, I pushed in the brake and clutch and I accidentally released the clutch and brake (no gas held down) and I pieced just millimeters behind a lawn mower. My looked at me with bog eyes and said " you are so lucky you did not hit the mower"

  • "You didn't feed it" *picture of starving african child.

  • @parkerbailey12345678 best part.

  • aww cute little kitties :)

  • cluch can be used without changing stick

  • haha this is great, still it's hard to get used as a new guy to driving :(

  • This made it really easy for me to learn, Thanks for the Humor and all.

  • I'm trying to move my sister's standard so I can back out my automatic... but I am too afraid.

  • For your car to go vroom vroom... that was funny.. xD

  • 2500? i thought 3500.

  • how do you stop? O_o

  • Thank you!!!!!!!! You made it fun, simple and understandable for me, who is manually challenged! LOL thanks again!

  • omg this is dumb

  • So according to you, the gear's 'speed plateau'

    1st -> 5mph

    2nd -15mph

    3rd - 30mph

    If we're talking plateaus my 1st goes to 40, 2nd 60, 3rd 80 4th 120, 5th 160.

Also Reverse is rarely identically geared to first.

  • You can use the clutch with out using the shifter.

And you can also easily use the shifter without using the clutch.

The only time you need to use the clutch with the shifter is getting started.

    Look up clutchless shifting.

  • I believe that automatic transmission is far more secure than manual one.

  • great vid lol

  • out of all the vids i seen on this , this is most helpful

  • This helped me so much. Thank you!

  • really how long u take to make this video !

  • Informative n Funny!!

  • is this a driving simulator for a 8-bit computers?

  • What a great video! Thanks dude........

  • About the stupidest video I have seen yet.

  • Can you move in 1st gear with no gas? I read on standardshift that this is called the "no-gas method."

  • U better look at more vids and practice 4 ur self too b4 u go out and jus drive a ups truck lol

  • Humorous take on this. The levity is certainly needed.

  • i came up to the part that said vroom vroom and i stopped watching..

  • thank you for this .. other videos i watched make these so complicated and dont all explain when you should shift once you start moving. this was great ..informative and had all the basics in one video .. i didn't just watch a ten minute video just to be told how to start the car. and it was funny :D

  • im 11 and I already drive stick!

  • @METALLICA1024 no one cares

  • LOL YOU DIDNT FEED IT HAHAHA

  • Ive watched about 30 stick shift video's on here so far, all of which contained live video and explanations. This one was the most informative and easiest to understand out of all of them. It's kind of sad how the brain prefers elementary ways to learn lol.

  • Awsome video

  • Very informative! Was learning for the first time today with my dad and boy did he make it sound complex! This way is pretty clear! And yes I stalled constantly more than 5times in a row because I didn't feed my engine. rofl

  • YOU DID'NT FEED IT LMAO

  • this is freakin hilarious .. you would think for it to be this funny that it has no information but its exactly the opposite :D

  • you didnt feed it

  • this. was. AWESOME lol

  • This was very informative and entertaining. Especially the part "you didn't feed it"

  • that was really helpful! thanks!

  • uhm. when you first shift to first gear is your right foot still on the break? and then you put your foot on the clutch put it in first, and take your foot off the break and then you go! ? right?

  • Very helpfull

  • Omg! This video should be funny videos category. It mDe me laught a lot, but most importantly, I learned a lot too.

  • im 14 and i learned how 2 drive a MAUNAL lorry and car when i was 6 and i'd say im better than most americans driving a MANUAL GEARBOX

  • i like how u think were are dumbasses lool

  • How long did it take you to make this video? LOL

  • lol he didnt say put thecar into neutral for you to stop this is important lol or you will end up in a tree

  • Comment removed

  • most americans are lazy, they want to drink their coffees, eat tacos, and whatnot!, i love mt, all my cars that i own are MT...i love it, power, control, and FUN!!!

  • @joeaccord23 hahaha. so thats what they do inside their cars. i drive both but auto i prefer. but not like them eating and what not. its just that the traffic here are so unforgiving. jeepneys and sikads(passengers bikes) and others are so anoying. alot of people in our country now buy autos. specially office workers and government employees.

  • omg this is awesome ahah quite confusing. not ur tutorial, just stick transmission thingy is.

  • omg this is awesome ahahhaha quite confusing. not ur tutorial, just stick transmission thingy is.

  • Hilarious, it is a shame that most americans cant drive stick, i am 15 and i can. LIKE*

  • @states1996 hey man. is it really an issue in the US about manuals and automatics? if gas consumption both have less consumption right! but automatic is expensive to buy. in performance both have unique capabilities right. so why do people argue about them? i am a filipino and can drive both but i like automatics much more then manuals. do you have any answers to my question....?

  • @TheThewho123 yea, most people in the us drive automatics, because most americans are lazy and cant understand anything mechanical, i, however perfer manuals, because they are more fun and can increase performance. and the fact that most americans could not steal a car, because of their lack of knowledge on manual cars

  • @states1996 hahha. its funny when you said they cant steal a car because its manual. hehe. thats a very big advantage. i have to admit manuals are fun. if the traffic is minimal. but if traffic is like hell on earth like motorcycles just gets your spot and you cant move anymore because of them. stop & go traffic. sadly i have to say it really starts to be a pain in the ass. for me learn manuals first then decide what car is for you. that way no problems right.
