Especially jews got alot of reasons to exactly like Charlot.

Just before WWII Chaplin was at a party where a nazi also was invited, then the nazi wanted to shake Chaplins hand but he said "I prefer not to shake hands with nazis" The nazi: "What do you got against us mister Chaplin?" Chaplin: "What do you got against everybody else?" Then a guy tried to excuse the nazi, that Chaplin was a jew, and Chaplin said "I'm afraid i dont got that honor" So they got alot of reasons to like him actaully.
