notice how when roseanne tells darlene she loves her, darlene doesn't say it back, thereby avoiding the whole after-school teen special thing? I think it's awesome that they don't have to make everything explicit; it's obvious Darlene loves Roseanne, despite the whole cynical/dark exterior.
