how do you clean a tank when is planted with live plants? i want to get a 55 gallon fish tank but do you use the gravel vacuums to clean the bottom gravel of the tank? are live plants hard to care? any information will be appreciated. thank you.
verry nice, als het cardinaaltetra,s waren was het nog mooier, mar dat is persoonlijk, mooie bak mijn complimenten, krijg ook weer zin om een aquarium te kopen.
dud that shit is awesome only thing i hate i can have stuff like that bcuz my water always gets yucky and i cant never keep it clean most of the time i gotta take every thing out i buy all these chemicals and they piss me off bcuz they mostly never work :150 is awesome!!
That's pretty cool. Btw my wish is tog et to 50 subscribers, and I have 2 right now. I hope u guys can help me to get to my wish. If you want to help me, plz subscribe me and ask some of your friends yo subscribe me too. I will subscribe you guys back. Thx
some of these tanks could use clearer eater but the aquascaping is very nice. too much work to maintain the damn thing, plus its not for fish. its like the other way around for fish keepers. its plantkeepers that use fish as the decoration.
does anyone else here know how to get rid of the organic filmy buildup on the surface of planted aquariums? besides using those crappy surface skimmers u attach to ur canister filter. they're not reliable. is there a fish that finds it appetizing maybe?
u can except that its not as necessary as a non-planted tank to gravel vac. plants use the stuff in the substrate like fertilizer. planted aquariums only require water changes, good CO2, and good lighting.
Can anybody tell me wether my lighting is good enough for my plants. i have a 20 gallon with a total of about 19 to 20 watts lighting flourecant full hood. i want some low lighting plants like anacharis, java moss, java ferns, anubias, some amazon swords if possible. and i would like to know if they can be planted in pool filter sand or sand. and i would also want to know if i still need to fertilze them.i dont want to use co2 because i cant afford it plese help!thanks.(ANYBODY PLEASE RESPOND)
I am not an expert but the lighting seems fine. You can put some plants like java fern, java moss, and anubias. Those plants are very easy to take care of. They can live with out Co2 and fertilizers would help. You don't need any sand or gravel. Just tie them to rocks, wood, etc with a piece of string.
u dont really need that much, because those low light plants wont use so much of tat and it would become algae food, especially BBA on the anubias. just rmb to clear dead leaves often from the jave fern lol. if u use 2wpg, maybe put nana in shadier area of ur tank. and yep the above mentioned rooted plants shouldn't have its root totally sunk in sand, must tie on wood or stone.
I'm a beginner as well but I was successful using the Do-It-Yourself CO2 system. You can find tons of info about it in the net. Now I'm very happy with my plants. They're thriving! Good luck! :)
i realize im a little late on the response maybe its been answered already. but pool sand and sand are silica mostly. you will need to fertilize with them. amazon swords SUCK nutrients and light. you will need at least 35-40 watts to grow much in there. a CHEAP co2 set up is a D.I.Y yeast reactor on an air stone. Google D.I.Y co2 yeast. (fertilize regularly) - hope that helps mate.
Thanks. Yes, the original video footage is very sharp, but all of the detail seems to have been lost when YouTube compressed it. You can see the pin-sharp pictures of these tanks in a future issue of Practical Fishkeeping magazine. There are also one or two shots on the Practical Fishkeeping website as part of our live coverage from Aquarama.
