Just to point out, B minor and D major all have the some notes, so an easy transition between the two scales would be just focusing in on the shared notes of the B minor and D major triad.

I can try to help you man, you need to learn some scales, fist thing you need to do is look up the pentatonic scale.

First make sure your in tune. The colored frets are on fret 7 and 9 just look at the black dot fret makers on 3,5,7,9 etc..the numbers are just offset to the right over top of the fretwire thats all
