@maurikid23 Stop paying tax all together i say. Strength in numbers then arm yourselves if need be to fend off this 3rd reich in the making. That we call are government.
Love the house, but I can't see my way around the cost of living, particularly in a country such as the U.S. which does not have universal healthcare. If you were to break your leg because a tree fell on you or your house collapsed, you would need insurance, no? How would a bowlmaker afford health insurance unless the bowls sold for quite a lot of money.
oh man, congrats. I want to do exactly the same but in the depths of British Columbia, proper winters and proper summers. Such a beautiful home Tony, I take my hat off to you sir, a true role model.
man could a rocket stove go great with this type of home keep it warm, make hot water, and use about 15 of the wood for burning. look into it rocket stoves.
we need to hear more how you built it.!.. the step by step. i hav land in greece. come an do workshops here!...or tell us how to go about it....this is a dream- got the land , you just gave the inspiration! now i need know how. bless for doing this.
So,so lovely to see your smiling face again Tony. And what a beautiful home you have created! Look forward to hearing from you about dance camp wales and hopefully see you at earthsong again. Big heart-felt hugs to you Rachael
I live on no money a week, sounds like a very indulgent figure of 80 per week to live off. Nice house though. Just cant figure out what he needs money for ?
This is a beautiful house ! ! I relocated from switzerland and lived in a wooden chalet. Out of a tragic reason i lost everything i have and had to relocate to the UK. I would like to have a wooden house in the forest and my peace and quiet again. It would be such a spring of engery for me working as a psychotherapist...were in England is your house ? Is is allowed to built it in the forrest and do you think it is possible to realise this dream for me to come true? Griseldis from Kent
so, what if all people just build houses from what they have laying around and just grab water available nearby? Nice home, sure, but DEFINETLY no solution to any future resource problem whatsoever.
The bankers don't want you to build a cheap house. That is the point. building codes actually don't allow you to use recycled wood or rough cut wood! Perhaps the OWS crowd could say a little about homesteading..
@josephdupont building codes do not actually say NEW materials, old can be used but must meet strength and moisture criteria, you can challenge these codes and win if you can scientifically show your materials meet or exceed code...document everything and do your research before you start... you can use examples from anywhere in the world that pertains to your enviroment and back up your challenge
Hi there, I have had a dream of living a self sufficient life in an Earthbag dome/ wood house for years now, It's the one thing I think about constantly and they are so cheap to build (except the land), do you have any links to communities or people who can teach this, and talk through any legal problems, ie housing regulations I may come accross! I can't afford land exactly but a community or land owner may be able to help me, desperatley seeking solitude and nature.
@MissIjna Hi, came across your question i to am looking for setting up a community or finding one. One website i came across was premise.com he has two communities and there in missoulia MT. There was another few in upstate NY ittica. One was called the jumping rabbit or something like that you just need to google different key words and do alot research as i have. This info i'm giving you took me about 5mos to collect after hits and misses. I wish u the best may u find true freedom their.
Tony, you are such a wonderful person. Thank you for inspiring and educating people. I hope that more and more people will be able to see the light through your work and commitment. Thanks.
I can just imagine the fresh air you get all the time and the smell from the natural woods and plants. Indoor air in typical homes is the most polluted air you can breathe with all the formaldehyde and chemicals coming off of treated woods, drywall, flooring and carpets.I find it impossible to stay long in a new home. Not to mention all the chemicals people purposely put into the air with air fresheners and scented candles. Would like to know where I can get more info on building like this.
It is my dream to live like this...would you tell me how you did it? In an email, or something of the sort? I promise to never tell a soul. Such a beautiful home, wow.
Totally love it :)
