People are so closed minded about gender issues sometimes. Sorry you had to deal with those people looking down on you for being who you are. I'm a girl and I'm a bookstore, sci-fi kinda person myself so I know what it's like to be in your shoes in a way. You've got my support, and I think us tomboy's are 1000x more fun (in general/in my opinion) than the stereotypical ones :)
@catgrenade12 Unfortunately, there are people in the world who try to destroy you because you are different. It is just part of life. The positive side of that is those people help to build your character and give you a more enlightened view on the world. So, I don't regret having to deal with those people. It made me into the person I am today. Maybe if that never happened, I wouldn't have the passion for advocacy that I have now. I look at things that way.

I am happy that you liked the video. I guess I have come to the realization that you can't please everyone in life, so that is why I have a laid back attitude about most things. I am glad that you like my personality. That makes me happy on the inside!
sounds like chick was just stra8 testing you.... and she wanted to send a msg to you by crossing you name off, saying your not playing the proper role she wants you too... basic msg is be you and dont check the boxes....people are always trying to find ways to explain us....
That was probably the case. She was probably testing me to make sure I was what her image of a young woman should be. I agree with you about just being yourself. It's important to be yourself first and foremost, no matter what people say. It's interesting that a lot of professional chefs are male since most people associate cooking with being female. That's why I think people are just themselves, regardless of gender. Woman or man, we all have our strengths and weaknesses.
you seem really down to earth, I relate to a lot of what you said.
