  • @pstarsbob The economy needs to be stronger by 2012 with unemployment around 6- 7%, Afghanistan has to be a success, no terrorist attacks, and Obama's presidency is free of scandal and he is not harmed, if he decides to run again, he will pick up states like Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, West Virginia, Missouri, the Dakotas, and Montana, and Arizona.

  • this Christie guy is smart but clueless in a way. To only suggest that Democrats can't win the South because they ignore certain constituency is ingenuious. There are racial and culturally and religious reasons why Dems can't win the South. It is mostly racially. White Southerners are not going to support a party that focuses mainly on racially and culturally diversity and unity. Like Obama said they focus on religion (nothing wrong with that), guns, hating queers, claiming blacks are lazy

  • Obama got 43% of the vote in mississippi

  • I meant to say 9 out of 10 white voters voted for the Republican

  • Obama will win Mississippi, Louisiana, North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia. Oh yes, Harris County, Dallas County, and Tarrant County Texas. Lol. The South shall rise again. Go DIXIE!!!

  • I am from Mississippi. I am an African-American male, and I am telling you all that Obama is not going to win in Mississippi.

    He doesn't have a shot/

  • 9 out of 10 white mississippians voted for the democrat with 5% of blacks voting for the republican. In the furture something will give so the dems can win or have a chance in mississippi. If the economy gets better and obama has a very high 70-75 percent approval rating, and he catches Bin laden, then he'll win miss and may even double his white support or triple it from 10% to 30%. Rednecks in Mississippi will say "that colored man Obama aint that bad ill pull the lever for him next time!"

  • I think Obama is going to win my home state of Virginia because of some coatails and changing trends. Also, VA has had back to back Democratic popular governors who have appealed to rural white voters. I don't think a tremendous black vote is needed to win VA. I believe VA has progressed to where Dems can win 45-47 percent of the white vote (which is unheard of in Southern states) VA is not as southern in terms of cultural views on race like Miss, GA, Ala, Tenn, and WVA. Obama won't get 90%

  • It is sad that there is racial polarization in states like Mississipi. If 14% of whites voted for Kerry-Obama may get less than 10% of the white vote in Mississippi! He has to appeal to young white voters to make up the loss of white voters. McCain may can get 10-15 % of the black vote if Obama runs too far to the center and take the black vote for granted because he's a black candidate. He's best shots are: Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina.

  • He can win VA with 35-40 percent of the white vote, but with 80% of the black vote. The thing is is that black people have to make up 20-25 percent of the voting electorate in VA. If blacks vote according to their percentage of the population in states like GA, MS, FLA, Louisiana-then Obama can win-All he will need in these states is a pathetic 25% of the white vote. In some states like GA and FL the Hispanic vote will help if he can will at least 60% of their votes. The math is there!!!

  • There's an awful lot of prejudice people in the US, it's going to get ugly.

  • Obama '08 !!!!!!!!!!

  • Obama '08 !!!!!!!!!!

  • Sure Obama can win in Mississippi! He took Hillary's delegates away... dissenfranchised thousands of voters... why the heck couldn't he take all the states... let alone little o'le Mississippi?

  • Obama had nothing to do with disenfranchising voters. You are mad because the DNC didn't allow Hillary Clinton to change the rules in the game-those states broke the rules-That is like asking the referees to extend the game another quarter so the losing team can catch up. I'm not an Obama or Clinton supporter, by the way. Go ahead and vote for McCain or stay home, it is not going to make a difference anyway. Independents are going to decide this election anyway not partisan sides!

  • I am an independent! I voted for Bush in '04, and voted for Hilary in the Indiana Primary. I've split my ticket over the past nine years. Split hairs as much as you wish, however, there are millions of voters that are ticked off.

  • the fact that hes not mccain (bush III) is change enough for me

  • All those positions above are held by McCain and they're completly factual. Stop listening to the CHANGE rhetoric, and look where the money is actually allocated in his foreign policy which will bring US down into further debt and more wars.

Ralph Nader isalso not McCain or Obama. He's historic in himself being the 1st candidate that is aChristiran son of Lebonese immigrants and can speak Arabic as well. Yet Nader is a principled candidate that ilves up to Obama's rhetoric.

  • Vote Independent. Vote Nader.
