  • I grew up one block away from this old market. Back when I was a child it was an active farmers market. I spent many saturday mornings walking through the place taking in all the sights and sounds. During this time the surrounding neighborhoods were filled with racially diverseblue coller workers and some professionals. It was not a getto as some have mentioned. I have good memories of this place. Sad to see that it is gone.

  • haha i moved to ma old house and its right a cross da street as i said in preveus coments!! now theres a fence and kids sneek in there and play baseball or goof around!!!! LOL! now i go to middle school and i go through there every day now ill make a vid of how its is now some day!!! lol

  • The last time I saw it was empty, but I never hit that part of the neighborhood any more. Not the greatest of parts.

  • It was a farmers Market before it sat abandoned for many years. I moved away right after the building burned. It was listed as a case of arson. It was suspected a couple kids did it. Not sure though.

  • There is beauty in disorder! Like vids of junkyards -gives me an idea! The music sure went well with it! Looks like this might have been a silk mill before a warehouse....

  • you're probably right, it was a farmer's market before it was abandoned, it was vacant for a long time and one rumor says it was torched, don't know for sure, I only wanted the pictures.

  • My dad used to work in a silk mill in Reading in the late '20's...that may have been the very place he worked! Small world!
