I cried when I first saw this film at 12 y/o, then at 22 y/o, at 38 y/o, and still, at 43 y/o. If you never shed a tear, or even get misty-eyed, at any time during this film, you're NOT human. I go through a half a box of tissues every single time. This film turned me into a Vivaldi fan.
according to Diane, those were real tears! they filmed this scene in sequence, therefore, the director told them to act as if they were really saying goodbye.
@catwomanFL72 - the track is by George Delerue , a French film composer. It is based on Vivaldi's Concerto for Lute. Delerue won an Oscar award for his work on the score of this film.
@faeryquene Me too. Fell in love with movie ever since it passed on TV as I was'nt around yet in the 70s to my regret. Btw the actor Thelonious Bernard never made another film & is now a dentist. Its said everytime this film passes on TV his clientel increases LOL.
