is that zuehle field in new bruanfiels texas? benn there to buy an engine from an ole cogger named chuck beeson. he produced a sweet little plane called a chuckbird. am i right?
The BK1 is a big bang for the buck . It can carrry a 6'4'' 250 lb. pilot ,30 lbs. of luggage with full fuel ( 15 gals. ) and fly at a 130 mph cruise for 400 miles and still have a one hour fuel reserve . I can't think of another aircraft that can do all that for less than $10,000 !! It is also all metal . I would think that with the proper cockpit covers , prop covers etc. it would not absolutely have to be hangared. It is a VERY capable aircraft !!!!!!!!!!
have a simple question, are you a rich man ? lol...hehe... anyways , i like your bird, i have a funding of roughly £5000 (british pounds) , do you think i will be able to make a low wing all metal aircraft for that budget ? I dont want anything fancy, just a lovely aircraft similar to JTD minisport
Glide is good, about typical for a light plane. If you have enough altitude you can glide for miles to find a spot to land. The engine just pulls the plane, like a car going up a long hill, once at the top you can coast back down. Large winged sailplanes can fly for hours with no engine at all.
This is a really good video, I never had any opinion on this homebuilt until I saw this video and I like it now. By the way I used to have a trained pet wasp that flew with me all the time back in 1973.
Pet wasp? How?!? I know I'm a green C152 trainee, almost got my license, but this one stumps me. I've seen a trained pigeon fly with my R/C planes.. but how the hell can you train a wasp? I just don't think I'd like a wasp in the cockpit. Nice video though.
Max cruise is 138 mph. Best cross country cruise 130 mph, extends range to 400 miles with reserves. Have made three 1200 mile cross countries to Oshkosh and Sun-N-Fun in 9 hours with 2 fuel stops.
flying with a good wasp trained to know what she is doing is a good tactic. It is a safety backup and it keeps you on your toes, specially boring IFR conditions.
I would not want to find a wasp in the cockpit with me

Excuse my ignorance, but whats the glide like in these things? Are you toast if you lose the engine?

Is that wasp on windshield a new FAA examiner doing the pilot's checkride? Or just the pilot's pet?!
