A Forty Year dream and vision expires, Wednesday, 13 October 1971Tijuana Baja California Mexico until Thursday, 13 October 2011 Pacoima Alta California USA
High School Cross Country, N.J.R.O.T.C., honorable discharge from the US Army, and former member of the board of directors of a nonprofit organization
Eleven days for the Forty Year (Wednesday, 13 October 1971 - Thursday, 13 October 2011) wait to end - I was Six Years Old when it began and now I am Forty-Six Years Old.
@tallulah1961 I am 4 years older than you since I was 6 and in kindergarten when this song came out. Aahhh, the memories. They just don't make music like this anymore. You and I were very fortunate to have been born in an era of decent music that's hard to comeby these days.
Hard to find this album. The original song is not at iTunes. Hard to find the right compilation w/the full album version of this song. Will have to buy it vinyl I guess.
@bucky468 There is a CD that exist of the full version of Love Takes Time. Also there are two versions of Love Takes Time. The radio edit and the full version. The full version on the CD is called Dance With Me - The Best Of Orleans, found on Amazon.com I did go to iTunes first and I was disappointed that they don't have any version of this great song.
@Bobafett327 I read a review of the "Dance With Me" album and it wasn't good. It said it sounded like Orleans recorded it out of their basement. The review said the recordings sound awful. I don't know how much truth there is to that.
Long lasting love takes times because everyone has habits that are acceptable to irritating which leads to complaining or nagging. I messed up because she and got married for the wrong reasons and predicted the divorce knowing her name with the high school she would graduate all in Spring 1980, when I was trying to impress a girl who had no intent on being a true friend. I was an absent husband, spent too much time with my friend instead of her, lived with my family, and owed too much money.
Not a bad choice of video to put with this song. It all reminds me of this chick I have a secret crush on but I love treating her like crap because i like her...if that makes sense.
The episode is "Best Man". I love that scene when Helga says I do to Arnold in her daydream and Arnold doesn't know what's going on near the end of the episode.
I was 17 years old in 1979 and a Junior in High School. I miss those days and thank God I grew up in the 70,s . We had the best music, Cartoons, and Television Shows.
I've got the music you want on 111 music playlists for any year back to 1900. Relive any past year through its music with just the click of your mouse . . . . . . . .
i graduatied in 1980,this was beyond any shadow of a doubt orleans best of all the 3 charters and the 1970s was such a great time to have been a teen, life was so simple back then american cars were still king of the hyway, and by the way to buy made in the usa was the best in the world.,listening to this song makes me wanna cry,my brother mickey was still alive, and we were having the times of our lives.....tonylfriend....
okay, i'm in a time warp but i am lovin' it, no bills, no worries, just me and the transistor radio and this song blaring...1979 was awesome: blondie, cheap trick, the knack, this song, nick lowe, good times
I gotta agree.....1979 was great for me too...I was 21 and havin' so much fun at the beach and the beer, the girls, the weed, hahaha!!!! Things were much simpler...no computers, no internet...you had to make your own fun....I was class of 1976....
I'll always remember this song as being the one playing on the old Musicradio-77 WABC in NYC when they cut in 30 years ago to announce the tragic death of Thurman Munson. I've long since fled the northeast and graduated into a fierce Yankee hater but I'll never forget that sad day.
I hear ya jason 3586. What I wouldn`t give to be a 70`s teenager again. Loving life without a care in the world before the world got complicated. Man, i miss the
70`s..great music, great clothes, great times. The summers sure seemed longer then. I miss the 70`s, my old friends, and the good times we used to have. What I wouldn`t give to relive it one more time.
***speechless*** -- - - - I'm so used to just listening to "Dance With Me" that I overlooked their other hits...this one really made me go wow on how good Orleans is! Thanks for posting!
thanks you cant find this version on itunes or anywhere? i remeber hearing this in manila when i visited back in the seventies...thanks for bringing back the memories.....

@jrb664 Yeah. If I did the same things now that I did when I was a kid, I'd get twenty years years and then have to register as a sex offender!

blairzel :the lead singer John Hall is now a congressman in northern Westchester County in New York ..................
The lead singer on this song though wasn't Hall, he already left the band. The singer was one of the Hoppen brothers.

I'm a huge 80s fan and just heard this for the first time a couple years ago (I'm 28). I think it's even BETTER than "Still the One".
I know it's '79 but it sounds ahead of its time to me.

Why do you complain all about being adult and missing those times?
Maybe life isn't exactly the same on its own, but you still got the choice, I mean it's still up to you to make it fun and nice!
You still got your hands and your heart.
The possibilities are endless.
