Yes, replace the original sound file named "ui1" with any track you choose, using a converter to adjust the sample rate to exactly 22,050 Hz and do not go above 705 kbps. Use Wave Audio format. It's a good idea to simply rename "ui1" in that directory to something like "ui1-Old" in case you desire to easily restore the original.
I've had success using the free WavePadEditor version to make the conversion.
Yes you can, you can even use the original videos from the Korea campaign. If you have the original F4, look at the directory structure for the Korea campaign folders and make sure that AF is set up the same way. As far as the menu music goes, F4AF will only recognize one menu track, so you have to take the three originals and combine them into one and then save it over the crappy F4AF music. Hopefully this helps.
F4 needs a way to move squads to new airbases to shorten the transit distances to new targets. but other than that I an Hooked on this simulator. Ive even went out and bought an x-52, rudder pedals and soon Track IR lol
i have been having problems with dropping bombs in campaign missions. when im in CCRP or CCIP modes, the drop cue falls down the line but nothing happens, even when heading is perfect. In the training mission, I am able to drop the bombs, but in campaign mode, i cant.. WHY IS THIS?
But does anyone know how I can change the radio comms? If I can do that I'll make them even more realistic. The present one seriously needs adjustments and I hope LP looks into it.
I modified almost all the sound effects to make them more realistic. For example, my new airbrake sound lets you *feel* the slowing down throughout its use, the grnd vehicles have better noises with external view, better flak sounds that are closer to real-life instead of the generic booms, and more realistic ricochets and bullet hits instead of sounding like coming from "western style" revolvers
@flying8speedistra : In real life... you will never hear any sound in case bullets hits! ... So if you want to be realist, put all crack sounds, bullets hits etc... to zero! ... And in a fighter jet cockpit, with the helmet, you hear almost nothing execpt radios, betty and warning tones... ;)
It works for me, but the sound when played in F4:AF is totally distortioned, it has a much lower pitch and the melody goes MUCH slower. Not when played with any other player. Weird.
Goto the music folder of your installed Falcon 4. Then rename the current "ui1.wav" to "ui2.wav" if you wish to keep it. Then copy my "ui1.wav" song into that folder, and it should work. :)
It is in mp3, I think you have the quicktime program linked to mp3 extension. Right-click on the file you want to download, do 'save-as', then open your preferred media player, and open the file in there.
It's for the PC. System requirements are reasonable, but the learning curve is whta you get if you multiply a normal combat flight sim times like, a million...

But not as realistic, as complicated or as engrossing or tense as F-15 SE3, 1942 Pacific Air War or the Shuttle IMO. I've played all kinds of flight sims imaginable but those are still the best unless a newer version of Tornado, Fleet defender or F22 arises
Err, not as realistic in what way? Because Falcon 4.0 is widely regarded as the single most realistic simulation of a fighter aircraft ever made available to the general public...
I agree that it is the most realistic at PRESENT time, cos there aren't other competitors except for LOMAC. But it ain't the best, not of all time. Given present technology we should expect realism to keep in pace. Example, Silent Hunter series. Have you played 1942 PAW? It is complex with strategic management of carriers & sqns etc. similar to F4AF. But way ahead of its time.
Hi NightShader, this is a superb composition! Good job mate!
