if you can't do a single pull up do declines. several times a day a couple days a week. once you can do 1 pull up do the same thing as with declines until you can do about 20. then the fun begins.
i've been doin declines, i've always called them negatives... but same difference, and in a few weeks, i was able to hold up at the top of the bar, can't pull yet, but it gets excellent results, and faster progress towards pullups.

i never did a lot of calistenics until I worked at a prison..I used to lift heavy weights but after seeing how ripped and cut up the inmates were I had a change of perspective on working out..inmates don't have weights but their physique is amazing..but i give you all the credit for your work out routines..
