  • Amazing song...this is the definitive Kansas song......period!

  • Comment removed

  • Always loved this song.

  • @MrBradysims94 THEN YOU HAVE OPEN UP YOUR HEART, FOR THE MUSIC OF THE PAST WAS TRULY MUSIC FROM THE HEART...

  • it has to be just 1 asshole to dislike this

  • I agree with you all the music in general was spiritual in nature. Kansas remains one of my favorite bands of all times but when I got older I appreciated the lyrics more and more. Each song had a message but all of which remained spiritual. Its good to rock to music with a deep meaining/message that make you think that is generally positive unlike the buble gum rock today.

  • It's agreed upon...If you grew up in that era we all felt the power of kansas~~~

  • Cant believe how many times this was played in my 1969 vw beetle in Germany!

  • No you don't haveto have been born in the 70's..However, you do have to have been there and have had to have some "intellectual" secular..Do you know Kerry????Ha,HA,That is just what i thought....grow the f up and stop taliking shit about what you haVE NOT EXPERIENCED ...just because you saw it on "google" or "you tube" that makes you an expert..D>F>You are not family so stf up!!!!!!

  • @JennaP46 I may not have experienced it, but I have a lot of friends of your age in the US and I'm sure they can all verify what I said. And, if I got you right, you're saying that the things the original members have said in real interviews are just plain wrong? As long as you can't prove the shit you're saying you better gtfo :P

  • @JennaP46 Btw, I've just asked Rich Williams himself about it and he said that I'm correct and you're wrong. Owned xD

  • @Kansasforlife Seriously,Grow up and forget it!!!!Why must you be right?I am so over that "high school shit" yeah dude you are sooooooooooooooo right...now please, quit stalking me!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @JennaP46 WTF??? Stalking? We've had a discussion about a band over 4 months ago and you call that stalking??? I don't even know you! If you're still referring to that "Kansas were officially labeled as a Christian band" sh*t, I've already told you that I have talked to Rich Williams personally over his Facebook page and he told me that I was right all along! So, as I've said before, just gtfo!

  • @Kansasforlife this song is definitely about out of body experiences. "to glimpse the other side" is the astral plane, where consciousness travels out of the body.

  • @ChinoRdrgz Yeah, guess it is, at least partially :-)

  • A great master piece of american progressive rock¡¡¡¡

  • POWERFUL TUNE!

  • i do love it ♥

  • Why cannot people understand that this a very "spiritual" song!!!!Not that i am religious any longer..However, back in the 70's Kansas was a christian band.......It doesn't matter if you believe in religion or not,the intensity was and still remains ~~beautiful..:)

  • @JennaP46 You're right, this song is about Kerry Livgren's spiritual journey, but Kansas have never been a christian band. Sure, due to Livgren being a very spiritual man most of the songs he wrote have a deeper meaning, but the band itself always wanted to be entertainers, not preachers. That's why Steve Walsh left the band for a while in the 80's ;-)

  • @Kansasforlife why did livgren ever leave the band?

  • @leonscottkennedyre4 I'm not sure, but I think it was because of creative differences between him and John and Dino Elefante ;-)

  • In '79, Livgren became an evangelical Christian. In 1980, he released his first solo album, "Seeds of change". He recorded three more albums with Kansas. However, tension was growing among the band members as a result of the increasingly blatant Christian perspective of his lyrics; he was increasingly dissatisfied with the band's musical direction (at least in part due to his newfound faith); and Steinhart left the band. This led to Livgren's exit from Kansas in 1983.

  • @ConsequentialLunch Finally,someone that makes sense~~go figure~~

  • @Kansasforlife Are you serious???How old are you?I will not talk religion to you,However,if ypu love Kansas you need to do a little more research of this band ...thyrisus..'You were not there, you can read all you want, believe all you want, but if you have ever met them and gotten to them..it's a matter of heart'

  • @JennaP46 What the hell are you talking about? Everything I said was true! Steve Walsh himself said that in a few interviews. And don't tell me to do more research of them, you have no idea how much I did in the past 3-4 years. But maybe I've just said it the wrong way: Sure, as far as I know all members of Kansas were/are christian, but they did NOT want to be labeled as a christian band but just a rock band. I'm 17, so what?? I don't have to be born in the 60's to know that :P

  • I guess we'll never hear those sounds like we did then.........truly an outstanding era.

  • The greatest song Kansas ever did.............period. True artistic talent.

  • @MrBradysims94 I grew up with this music. It is so cool to see young people really appreciate real music, not the junk that is being put out now.

  • These are the kind of bands we all saw in concert and listened to on the radio in the 70's. I appreciate them even more now. Really no bands like this today. Everything is overproduced. No true talent and creativity out there. Very few anyway.

  • I like Kansas Boston Chicago !!!

  • You said it....most misunderstood bans ever...My Favorite 30 years ago and this song and portrait he new are still my favorite...Music way ahead of its time... Accentually the wall turned me onto music and to listen to the messages behind them.....Oh I wish i could see them live for the 7th time...Of any concert to see live...Kansas!

  • I could sing this song all day. The key changes and decoration are fabulous. its a real shame they didn't produce more music. also, shame on the one person who disliked!

  • A very spiritual song. My thoughts and prayers are with Kerry and all the boys from Kansas. Very nice upload.

  • I was in HS when this song came out, and I remember them playing this song at the first KANSAS concert I ever went to- it's a haunting song. Classic Livgren.

  • kansas is a band like no other . loaded with talent, very progressive and solid. although todays music is popular i get depressed for the content of todays music, the message in this music is deep , sea deep . only the very best of lifes memories come to mind upon hearing kansas. leftoverture is as classic as any album from the 1970's, which is the REAL MEAT of music that sticks to your bones and memory.

  • i fucking love this fucking song !!! fuck !

  • My favorite Kansas song. It's possibly one of the greatest rock/ ballads, ever.

  • theres a pirate playing the guitar xD

  • God this brings back memeories. Genius

  • Im 17 bought this album 3 months ago for $3 and its now my second favorite vynle i own the firrt is the wall by Pink Floyd and this has become my fav song on leftoverture

  • @coxco3 Thats really cool that at your age you like like this. Good music overall pretty much ended in the 90's. I do hope that you realize that Leftoverture is better than The Wall. The are both great albums but Leftoverture is an incredible masterpiece. I also HIGHLY recommend 3 more things. Boston's first album and Rush "Moving Pictures" and "Permanent Waves". I'll let u in on a secret....Rush is the best rock band ever....u might as well get all of their albums.

  • kerry , get well soon, will u be in Niagara this summer w/ the band???u rule

  • Lyrically amazing

  • You can really hear the Genesis influence in this song.

  • SUPER!!!

  • Most underrated band ever. These guys are amazing.

  • @Joshwits You're so right :-)

  • Yeah, that really is awesome. It's always nice to meet peers of mine who have the same point of view on music as me :-)

    Michael.

  • @Kansasforlife -Thank you!I heard Kansas at 11,everything at that moment changed, Before that moment..Through this song..Everything changed.Music became poetry and so much more. They were my favorite band at 11 and still my favorite at 49! I wish it would be for Kansas to come back! How can that happen..Promotion, exposure..They changed me forever, Sigh me up! To make that happen! Any idea's I love your channel subscriping now. I want to make this happen! I would love to carry on this conversation

  • i've loved this song and this band for 35 years.

  • i've loved this great song since i'm 12 years old back in 76

  • When I was about 15 I used to sit with headphones on listening to Leftoverture for hours while drawing fantasy art, lost in my own world. Great memories.

  • Beautiful song! This song has always held so much meaning to me throughout my life.

  • YES! Thank you!

  • @joe88350 Thank you :-)

  • Awesome!

  • Thank you! Merry Christmas!

  • There's something about "hard rock' songs and ballads from the 70s. Lots of melody and a lot more orchestral. And lot of musicians have backgrounds in classical music training. Very nice song.

  • one of their best. thanks for posting it. this song owns my tear ducts. heh...

  • Having listen to this song....I want to cross the line.........

  • Thank You !!!, Fan from Argentina.

  • God bless Kerry, may he recover from his stroke soon! He suffered a stroke on 8/31/09.

  • OH NO!!, I just heard him on the radio right before that. Thats so sad... Im saying a prayer for him...

  • I've been on Twitter yesterday and saw that he started posting again. It seems he's recovering quite fast :-)
