  • A song for all the women in this world

  • "The times. The very difficult times. It was disturbing, everything that was going on at that time period between people. All of our people. Just people and segregation, the differences. It was heartfelt what we wrote and that's how that song came about. We did that song and Phillip did an incredible record with The Checkmates. You know, Sonny Charles has a great lead. It was Sonny and Sweet Louie. It was a great record." - Toni Wine

  • I've loved this song since I was a kid in the 60's....great Phil Spector track!

  • What a most beautiful song? Love it, I'm white but this moves me so much!!!!!! xx

  • @SuperSpencer05

I'm white, but I LOVE the classic Soul soings of the '60s and early '70s and the Doo Wop of the late '50s. I also love bright colors. When at work, I hang out with a mostly black crowd. One day, a black dude told me that many the other whites did not like me for that reason. So what? If they don't like me, fuck them.

I don't go by skin color. I go by kind.

  • beautiful song

  • My dad told me he used to sing this to his girlfriend in highschool in the late 60's.

He's white, she was black. This song always makes me happy.. Love conquers all barriers.

  • So glad I found this classic! This is Spectre at his finest and Sonny was fabulous! To all you 'black pearls' out there -God Bless and I hope you all found your deserved happiness
