@Brettwbeyer14 Because I felt a sense of guilt over pushing the Iraq War even having actively "counter-protested." I supported Bush because I felt like being a contrarian, but could defend him less and less in practice. I didn't know "small government" meant secret prisons, disrespect for judges, and hacks nominated to all sorts of posts. I wanted Obama to bring a bit of respect back to the USA (which, as anyone who travels knows he has) and curb some of those Bushisms.

Liberals today are progressives which is basically fascisms cousin. If you look at all of liberal policy, it's always some sort of supplement provided by the government (and everything the gov't provides has to be processed by govt bureaucracy) and strengthening the fed. gov't. I supported Bush because I felt like being a contrarian, but could defend him less and less in practice. I didn't know "small government" meant secret prisons, disrespect for judges, and hacks nominated to all sorts of posts. I wanted Obama to bring a bit of respect back to the USA (which, as anyone who travels knows he has) and curb some of those Bushisms.
