to solve stuff like this you have to count the sticks first (in this case 16) count the squares (5) and know how many squares is required (4). normally, when you draw seperated squares, they'd have 4 lines each, how could 5 have 16 and not 20? well, they're sharing them. 4 seperate ones need 16, so the squares here would be seperate. simple as fuck.
