  • @p44v9n Gat means "movement" and designate composition. Created by tablawalas, gats are famous pieces which are can't be changed when presented, as they are poetic expressions spoken by tabla. So they're not used in accompaniement,, neither are meant to variate like peshkar, kaida or rela in solo. Mini pieces of gat are called Tukdas, those are short but devastating.

Gat and tukdas have somehow a "jumping" or "excited" effect bols, not the regular structure of theka, peshkar, kaida, rela.

  • @p44v9n When a kaida carries jumping effect bols inspired from gat, then the item is called gat-kaida. Same logic of gat-rela.

Gat are poetic, abstract heartly expressions, but also can be build to imitate natural phenomenons (river flow, thunderstrokes, antelope running/jumping) and human artefacts (fire crackers, train movement, rocket, holi color splashes, etc.)

  • This i really like ! Theres nothing better than a bit of "original" improvisation. It seperates the Chiff from the Chaff
