I guess the bottom line is people put to much emphasis on skin color when their are other features and traits that also factor into a persons background. Really at the end of the day DNA can really help people discover more about themselves and their background and even where their ancestors may have originated from. Well i hope that adding my 2 cents helped. :)
Another example is one of my favorite Basketball player Blake Griffin who is super light but without even looking into his background you can tell by certain features has African ancestry mixed with Caucasian ancestry. However even though his dad is African American it does not mean that he is not multiracial & he may also have Caucasian ancestry as well. However this may not be evident in his appearance one should not assume a person is full of something. Their could be native american ect ect
If you don't want to watch the whole documentary of Black in Latin American and just want to check out the DNA part it starts around 51:00 minute mark. The professor comes out also at the 26:55 mark of the documentary. Now with that said their is more then just skin color that can determine African features. Their are genetic traits that are usually also pass down. Head size, Hair type, facial features like lips & nose, Body features that also help determine a person background
Lighter skin does not necessarily mean U have less Sub Saharan African DNA then a person who is darker. Example look at the documentary Black in Latin America - Brazil a Racial Paradise. Professor Wlamyra Albuqurque looks like an African woman but actually has 54% European lineage I think Darker Africans need 2 think b4 they speak bad about lighter African woman because it is always possible the darker woman or man has more European ancestry then the lighter 1 Pres Barack Obama another example
Their is no such thing as biracial because the majority of American black people have European DNA. Look at Snoop Dog and Charles Barkley DNA test you would think Snoop was more African then Barkely because Barkley is lighter but that is not the case. Check out George Lopez DNA test. Also their are places in Africa with African women with lighter skin. Example Somalia, Kenya, Morocco, Libya, & even parts of west Africa. Lighter skin does not always necessarily mean you have less African DNA

Black & Latino people express ourselves very emotionally. In my experience growing up in various environments, I find that many Whites and Asians are very reserved in expression of their feelings especially older people. Latinos and Black tend go with what and how we feel in the moment. Funny thing is you have seem movies with Latinos or Blacks at a dinner table with a White person and that person would ask why are they arguing among themselves when they just talking in spirited conversations.

I've had that happen to me. I went to see Bruce Springsteen once and white people were asking me if I was a Clarence Clemmons fan. Why? I asked because he's black? No I like the whole band. Same thing with The Rolling Stones. They can come to see black artist and no one sets out to make them feel uncomfortable. But they look at you like you don't belong there when it's rock and roll. @Chaz770 It's mainly American society that labels all mixed race people as just black because of the old one drop rule hangup. In Brazil, South Africa, or the UK you are clearly defined as mixed race if you come from two different colour parents.

It's the same principle with black and white people, not all are the same shade. There are so many different skintones. You can't just look at someone and say "Hey, you're this". It's just not that simple.

@IndieheadFilms That's true. However, a "mixed race" phenotype isn't just skintone, it's FEATURES & HAIR TEXTURE. The darker skinned mixed people like "xoxcuddlecorexox" still have keener more chiseled features (from the european/white side) and the much lighter ones like tiff here, will have broader softer features (from the west african/black side). Mixed phenotypes LOOK like a "mixture" of the two not just ONE. You can't go by skintone alone.
@BValchan example of what I mean: Halle Berry's kid isn't that light for someone whose 75% white. She's like bronze or caramel (in fact I'M lighter than that kid) however, her *features* (hair color/texture, eye color, facial features) are CLEARLY influenced by her white genes, so it would just be silly to imply that she looks JUST black or MOSTLY black b/c her skin is brown.

I'm black and I went to few concerts in Jersey. White Zombie-Pantera-Deaftones-Type O Negative. The type of crowd/music plays a role in addition to location to the stage. The white people at the concerts I went to were throwing down dude-arms, legs, and heads were on fire. I danced along the edge of the mosh pit (since I decided to wear heels and a mini). I'm sure if the tables were turned and the white crowd danced while you remained still and blocked the action, you would have been glared at

Lighter skin does not necessarily mean U have less Sub Saharan African DNA then a person who is darker. Example look at the documentary Black in Latin America - Brazil a Racial Paradise. Professor Wlamyra Albuqurque looks like an African woman but actually has 54% European lineage I think Darker Africans need 2 think b4 they speak bad about lighter African woman because it is always possible the darker woman or man has more European ancestry then the lighter 1 Pres Barack Obama another example

Their is no such thing as biracial because the majority of American black people have European DNA. Look at Snoop Dog and Charles Barkley DNA test you would think Snoop was more African then Barkely because Barkley is lighter but that is not the case. Check out George Lopez DNA test. Also their are places in Africa with African women with lighter skin. Example Somalia, Kenya, Morocco, Libya, & even parts of west Africa. Lighter skin does not always necessarily mean you have less African DNA

Black & Latino people express ourselves very emotionally. In my experience growing up in various environments, I find that many Whites and Asians are very reserved in expression of their feelings especially older people. Latinos and Black tend go with what and how we feel in the moment. Funny thing is you have seem movies with Latinos or Blacks at a dinner table with a White person and that person would ask why are they arguing among themselves when they just talking in spirited conversations.

I've had that happen to me. I went to see Bruce Springsteen once and white people were asking me if I was a Clarence Clemmons fan. Why? I asked because he's black? No I like the whole band. Same thing with The Rolling Stones. They can come to see black artist and no one sets out to make them feel uncomfortable. But they look at you like you don't belong there when it's rock and roll. It's the same principle with black and white people, not all are the same shade. There are so many different skintones. You can't just look at someone and say "Hey, you're this". @IndieheadFilms That's true. However, a "mixed race" phenotype isn't just skintone, it's FEATURES & HAIR TEXTURE. The darker skinned mixed people like "xoxcuddlecorexox" still have keener more chiseled features (from the european/white side) and the much lighter ones like tiff here, will have broader softer features (from the west african/black side). Mixed phenotypes LOOK like a "mixture" of the two not just ONE. You can't go by skintone alone.

She's like bronze or caramel (in fact I'M lighter than that kid) however, her *features* (hair color/texture, eye color, facial features) are CLEARLY influenced by her white genes, so it would just be silly to imply that she looks JUST black or MOSTLY black b/c her skin is brown.

well im not biracial and im more light skinned then most biracials and hispanics. my cousin is biracial and she is lighter than this girl and im more lighterskinned then my cousin in one of my baby pictures i look pale white with a black afro. im lighter then most mulatoes. now i know there was some biracials in my mom side of my family and dad side because. when my mom and dad must off had sex. the little whites in the side of my mom family must have robbed off on me and same as my dad.

I'm black and I went to few concerts in Jersey. White Zombie-Pantera-Deaftones-Type O Negative. The type of crowd/music plays a role in addition to location to the stage. The white people at the concerts I went to were throwing down dude-arms, legs, and heads were on fire. I danced along the edge of the mosh pit (since I decided to wear heels and a mini). I'm sure if the tables were turned and the white crowd danced while you remained still and blocked the action, you would have been glared at

@cherri7 lol @ "The Black part". Yes African slaves mostly came from "The Black Part" also known as West Africa. However, did you know that in West Africa, the hair varied from tightly coiled hair to loosely curled, long flowing hair? So curly hair is not a Caucasian feature. Sorry.

@FirstandKennedy this girl is fascinating if it were up to her she would probably create a separate history for "mulattos" (a derogatory term aimed at ppl of African descent mind you) what i find ironic about this chick though is that most A-Americans to the very darkest ones to the very lightest have a mixed background with whites. Thus most "black" people are not very different from her! She is uneducated about blacks and a sad reflection of the fact that most blacks are ignorant of ourselves.
