Actually, the melody is nearly a note-for-note copy of "Terrible Lie". Lyrically it doesn't closely resemble any particular NIN song, but that's where Weird Al got the melody from. There's no specific similarity to "Closer". Listen to "Terrible Lie", and you'll know I'm right.

The intro is vaguely reminiscent of Closer...but the melody running through the entire song is EXACTLY the same as "Terrible Lie".
"Terrible Lie" was Weird Al's main inspiration for this song, there's absolutely no question about it.
