Very good point - it's dangerous - loving your enemies and neighbours as yourself and turning away from evil and all lying - cheating - stealing - killing - coveting are very dangerous ideas indeed. Brilliant well thought out video.................
I can only hope I'm wrong about a violent revolution! An enlightenment of reason and peaceful protest is what may change things for the better for all of us, so much as I want to believe that -I hope it's not too late
Christianity has had a bad name for centuries, even when it was first founded! Just read 'the good book' from front to back and ask yourself how anyone can believe it or worse yet, follow the bible to the letter and not be an asshole! Fundamentalists are just what the name implies..people who follow the bible literally and proceed to force it on our society -It's time to say enough is enough
As divided and polarized as America is right now, I can foresee a violent revolution not unlike what happened in the Russian revolution or worse! It's that bad now in my opinion...I can only hope I'm wrong.
Fundamentalism is totally dangerous..AND well funded by right-wing large corporations that are conspiring to theocracize America into a fascist state! And yes, they are very willing to rise up with violence. There may also come a day when an alliance of serious atheists and liberals take up arms as well! I know it sounds extreme and ugly but this is what we face. I can say without hesitation, that I will NOT submit to theocratic rule!..will any of you??
@Lennon4ever1 and don't forget Catholics, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhist, Taoists, Shintos, Confucianists, and Tolerant Protestants who can not stand the Fundie KJO Loonies like Jack Chick, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, and other assholes who give Christianty a bad name.
(Con) America, however, isn't and hasn't had to up until 2001. I'm not saying our military is weak, just hasn't been under threat like Israel. Also, we have had some wars that we don't like to talk about, i.e. Viet Nam and Korea. We didn't come out of those conflicts very well.
My point is, we don't fuck with Israel because they could whoop our ass. That, and they are our only, true, ally in the Middle East.
I have one disagreement with you, 30shekels. And it is on the Israel comment. I'm a third generation Airmen, so I have a little insight on military strength. At least, I think I do. The reason we don't mess with Israel isn't a religious reason, though that may have a little to do with it. Instead, it's a military reason. Since Israel was formed, the Israeli military has never lost a fight. And because they are surrounded by enemies, they are constantly having to strengthen their army. (TBC)
The devil has you right were he want's you,do you still believe in Jesus?evil will mess with your mind, don't fall for the dirty slimy, snakes tricks!!! you know God loves you!!!!
I visited an Assembly of God Sunday night service where my relatives attend. The pastor was preaching on the argument over talking animals in the Bible. He said that there is proof of talking animals because we have parrots.
I happen to own an African Grey parrot and I can't imagine that he's speaking on behalf of God. If so, we're all in for an interesting future.
@3:04-FUNDIES DID NOT MAKE LEFT BEHIND!!!KIRK CAMERON AND HIS CROWD DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT BIBLE TO USE,MUCH LESS DO THEY KNOW A THING ABOUT PROPHECY!!!but as far as the rapture goes, dont worry bout that,by the time that happens,it'll be too late for you.and if ya wanna know how it goes down, dont bother with left behind.u must of been a tottal drone warming the pew of a drone church with ur confused misinformed buttocks.
@prewrathrapture333 not all christians believe that the rapture will happen.so what happens to them?they may be very nice good christians, but according to some rapture christians they will end up left behind.bb
@2:56 are u kidding?have u seen the huge rise against these so called church leader's teachings on revelation ALL OVER YOUTUBE?my user name is a testimony against the fact that we just eat up the most popular teachings of the big name leaders and popular study bibles.these arent fundies, these are pseudo fundies at best that u speak of!ur beef is with the neo evangelicals-NOT with fundies.-i dont blame u,i would've left ur church also!
@2:41 where in the world does the bible say that the devil is made into a man?and for ur info, the antichrist is kind of a sub plot.the book of revelation is actually mainly about the revelation of JESUS CHRIST and HIS return.and i imagine all the books of the bible are incredibly vague to you, because u seem to know NOTHING about them.actually, after careful study, revelation becomes quite clear.
@2:35-revelations?i thought you were a fundamentalist bible know it all?dont you realise that the last book of the bible is revelation?not revelations?hmmm, somethings fishy round here.u say u were a christian, but dont seem to know too much bout christianity...is someone telling lil fibs, perhaps?
@2:24-yea we have "real power"abortion is legal, gay marriage in some states,no prayer in school,no commandments in courthouse,no crosses on public property, evolution taught in schools, gay sex education taught in school and the news media is just sooo nice to us.seems the only example of a christian they know how to use is the phelps cult of wesborrow-infact,isnt that them in the suggestions box?go figure!-yea,i see whatcha mean.we are ruling with an iron fist!give me a break.
@2:24 everything ur claiming fundamentalist to be is against the fundamental teachings of the bible!u seem to be discribing the charismatic newage neo evangelical movement-the very movement that true fudamentalism stands against.
@prewrathrapture333 if you preach hatred against your fellow man, you deny Christ. If you advance the cause of the priveleged and powerful, you deny Christ. If you advance bigotry, you deny Christ. If you believe the false teachings of YEC, you follow a "false prophet". Any questions???
@2:14 if u are a true fundamental bible believing christian, the last thing you belive is right is to be spoon fed.the bible is fundamentally against not maturing past that.Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
@2:04-if u are non-denominational,then u have most likely started a church on ur own without the authority of an established church body.that is against fundamental bible doctrine.if you are watching today's televangelist,u are NOT a fundamentalist because they are almost always pentecostal charismatics who are anything but biblically fundamental.i havent seen a fundamental non denominational church yet!they are full of false bibles, false doctrine, false prophecy and false teaching.
1:39-critical thinking is a constant in proper biblical exegisis, which flies in the face of the accusation that we ONLY listen to the teachings of our pastors.if my pastor says something that i find not to be true, rather scriptural, historical or scientific,i call him on it.that to is a fudy biblical teaching:Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
@1:31-most christians that i know are extreamly satisfied happy people with very fulfilling lives and careers.i really dont know where this guy gets his info, but i bet he had a huge urge to make this vid and didnt feel fulfilled until he made it.he says u have to be terrified of the unknown to be a christian, but feels our beliefs are somehow a danger to him.i dont see funies running around bombing people-yea there's ur occasional nut out there, but violence is NOT a fundy bible teaching.
as far as being terrified of the unknown,i for one have found a peace thru life's storms that i never had until i was saved, while others are freaking out,i at times was able to remain calm.i noticed that my nxiety level was directly proportional to my prayer life and bible reading.u cant tell me non believers dont get anxious when going thru tradgedies where they arent sure wuts going to happen.
@1:23 u really cant say this statement about an entire group of people.i for one get alot of satisfaction by examining my christian beliefs.actually,i find that more non-believers exhibit more of a lack of belief examination.think about it,non believers usually try to avoid talking or even thinking about their death until faced with it.my wife works in a nursing home and alot of people who are otherwise non religious, start asking her alot of questions about Christ when they're close to death.
Fundamentalist Christians increasingly: 1) insist the Founding Fathers were "all" Christians (not true) 2) teach that the earth is only 5 or 6,000 years old 3) some claim dinosaurs never existed, its a "hoax" 4) believe that global warming is a "liberal hoax" .....5) and everything with fundies boils down to condemning the "liberals and Democrats". I've never heard a fundie say anything remotely intelligent.
Yet much of the Bible is actually poetry, not plain speech. I have seen too many (Christians and atheists) try to interpret this stuff literally and make logically invalid arguements (this is on the fundies). There are many metaphors and the like that are taken too seriously. If someone says that the Bible should be taken literally, he should really be referring to the theological message instead.
Yet much of the Bible is actually poetry, not plain speech. I have seen too many (Christians and atheists) try to interpret this stuff literally and make logically invalid arguements (this is more on the fundies). There are many metaphors and the like that are taken way too seriously.
Christianity (if used properly and not abused) would lead "Christians" to actually help the world, not hurt it through wars and such. I am a Christian and I can say that real Christianity is the exact opposite of crusades, manifest destiny, nuclear wars, etc. Some of your points are quite well-rooted, but it seems like you never learned biblical Christianity, just the humanized corruption of it.
The USA is the world center for Doomsday Christianity, the stupiest & most dangerous religion that ever existed. Appearantly millions of Americans are not worthy of their founders like Jefferson, Hamilton, Adams and Franklin who in turn were inspired by French Encyclopedists, (Enlightenment), Voltaire, Descartes, Diderot, D'Holbach, B. Spinoza & others.
@30shekels Excellent analysis. Being a former fundamentalist Christian best qualifies you to understand the psychology behind such beliefs along with it's attendant dangers. I'm left shocked by the number of secular people who perceive Christianity and biblical doctrine as benign or occupying the moral high ground. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The dangerous thing about fundamentalists of any of the 3 hate spewing abrahamic religions is percieved admonishment of personal responsibility; they believe any action is justified if it has been endorsed by their sky spook. The results are intolerance, terrorism, murder of doctors, child molestation and unrestrained bigotry and racism.
A lot of truly evil power-hungry despots take full advantage of this group paranoia too.
You know what finally cured my depression? Not God, not pills but finally realizing there was nothing wrong with me which was all my fundamentalist church kept telling me. Once I finally left and let go of these beliefs I became a happier person. I was never "saved" in my beliefs; I was trapped. I spent so much time denying reality it put me in dangerous situations I couldn't get out of. Luckily I'm done with all that crap now
My friend, I want to high five you so fucking hard your hand will come off and fly across the border to mexico and be used as some kind of creepy plaything by one of the local children. The concept of God is a laughable one designed solely for feeble minds who can't cope with the idea of nothing after death. Thank you and goodnight.
@youngprofessor I love the way that Mike198748 put that and you accuse me of being sweeping. Tell me one part of my statement that was factually incorrect aside from the high five thing.
Not all Christian who consider themselves born again are fundamentalist or premillenial dispensationalists. Which is the position you assume all born again Christians hold. Inerrancy does not mean you take every part of the Bible literallly. The Bible is composed of many types of literature. Some is meant to be taken literally and some is not. True Israel only exists in the Church today. The Church has nothing to do with some country in Palestine, despite what some Christians may think.
There is no 'palestine', which is why the A-rabs occupying Israel are demanding one.
There is a land called Israel, and Jesus said
"When you see these things come to pass, Let those that are in Judea flee to the hills in that day"-look it up. The only place that has a "Judea" is Israel- stop showing your biblical ignorance.
Looks like you must be an Islamic-Jihadist, since they, and the left wingers are the ones who say that Israel is 'non-existant'
You Islamic-Jihadist-leftists are verrrrry predictible now.
It is also written that Jesus will save the people of Israel, and they will 'look upon him, who they pierced'
So, your "Christianity" is anti-Christian, you are more like the 12th Imam, looking for the anti-christ-beast to destroy those that support the people of Israel.
@TheWWWJTFORG Look, I have nothing against a nation of Israel in the middle east. What I am saying is that the People of God Jew and Gentile are in the Church no matter where they live. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.. Gal.3:28 Also read Eph. 2:11-22 Which I would write out if there was room. Basically it uses 3 metaphors 1 Gents are brought into nation Israel 2. He has made Jews and Gent one new man 3 we are a holy temple
nothing you couldn't learn from a 10th grader who recently watched like 2 george carlin videos and now thinks he's an atheist with the gift of critical thinking.
The only thing that ANY NEW believer must be wary of is having seal without knowledge, you are just picking on Christian people-which is common place today
Where do Christians have this power? They had no power when they took prayer out of schools in 1962, they have no power when the Obama-nation allowed fags to be open in the military.
You must be pretty weak, yourself, to think that these are 'powerful' people.
@TheWWWJTFORG are you daft? you can't be an atheist and be elected to public office in this country, you can count the muslims in national office on the fingers of one hand. scotus decided 'citizens united' in favor of big business, and the christian conservative pacs that are funded by them. they then poured billions into the coffers of christian conservative political candidates. if an atheist criticizes a theist, we're 'angry at god', but religious zealots even protest military funerals...
@TheWWWJTFORG you're just pissed that history is leaving conservative notions behind. and listen you pusillanimous fuck, you don't know who i am, so your assumption that i'm pretty weak is some seriously pussy shit. fucking bigot. and don't try to be coy, you fucking coward--it's not 'these are 'powerful people'--it's 'we'-you're one, aren't you? AREN'T YOU? fucking coward-to be expected from xtians, though, isn't it?
me too michael.Once you open your mind to the possible truth...it leads to wanting to KNOW the truth. I would rather KNOW an uncomfortable truth than to live a beautiful lie. slowly the truth...sets us free :)
Why do we get all upset when someone else has a different opinion to us. I have doubts too sometimes but it doesnt change my beliefs, if anything after searching for the truth. I come to a deeper knowledge of what I believe in. In saying this, you all have to understand, U have to be spiritual to understand the things of the spirit. But do not cuss out or condemn someone for their differnce of opinion. That is that name Fundamentalist or extremeists right there.
First and foremost, I dont understand why this has turn into a hate and cussing thing. It's all about what you do or do not believe in. Why are most people upset about the "OBSERVATIONS of a Fundamentalist" I am a Christian, born again, spirit filled, and all but this does not make me mad. I know what I have believed and why I believe it. 30 Shekels Must have his reasons for believing what he does. Even the Bible says in Isaiah " come let us reason together".
@oleku4life So isiah said something about reason, big whoop, when you throw down stockpiles of ink onto paper something will come out sounding intelligient. the fact is you have NO reason to believe what you believe, you just believe because you were TOLD to believe and TOLD it was gods word, and you never doubted it. step back from your beliefs and realize how crazy and absurd they are, they are not doing anything to make this world a better place, you can be good without a god
con't: They love people, pray for the sick, comfort those & help those in need. Charitable to the poor & needy. Yes, you are correct, christians are a menace to satan & his followers. Isn't that wonderful? I'm very happy to be on the winning team! What team are you on? Where will you be going when your soul leaves your body? When u stand before Christ what will your life show? Btw, I dont have a fav t.v. preacher, I dont own a tv, but I do have a book of love & direction called the Bible.
@kokonutbaby1 I think your answer was well thought out and very sweet. I dont know how old you are but as I read your words,I had a smile on my face ..until I read."I'm very happy to be on the winning team! what team are you on?"
That shows where you fail. Jesus true meaning has been corrupted and the bible is not all divine.thats a fact.
con't: who's everyday thoughts are on wickedness, selfishness, evil desires, etc. People who have nothing more in life than to poke fun of, put down, anything righteous & good. What do you do for society? Do you go around cursing people? Living in addictions? What goodness do you conttibute? Yes, christians believe in the Bible as truth, have watched it's prophecies come true & coming true now. They witness to the lost, cuz they dont want to see anyone in hell. They have a relationship w/God.
@kokonutbaby1 why would someone who doesnt believe in hell or satan...have to be a drug addict or have no morals???? Thats what i dont get??? I know many atheist who are more moral than some christians. Good and bad in all religions.good and bad people.period.
Witnessing is cool,if someone else wants to hear it. Maybe someone has moved on to a deeper relationship with God??? Maybe?? I did! I dont have to live in fear anymore..of satan and hell.
con't: If you do not love Christ and/or worship God, who is it that you do worship, love, & follow after? Obviously its this world system which is ungodly & belongs to satan. You may even claim to not believe in satan, but he doesn't care, he knows you! You belong to him until you get saved & belong to Christ. Do christians love too much? Is that dangerous to the world? Perhaps it's dangerous to satan & his followers, who love murder, rape, curse, live in drunkeness, addictions, & despair.
@kokonutbaby1 what a crock of shit. Yeah ur christians are all about loving too much huh? thats what they were doing during the dark ages, and what they did to the true people of america,(Native Americans) or how about a little something called "manifest destiny" where christians had a god given right to rape, murder, lets even throw genocide in there while were at it. But hey, whatever makes you sleep better at night right?
The early Christian invaders who invaded my country would use M.D. as a holy writ allowing them to do whatever they wished.
Not that many years ago, Mormons would come onto Reservations and forcibly take Indian kids away from their families and raise them as Mormons. I used to know 2 Navajo sisters who were Mormons. They wouldn't go out into the sun bcuz they wanted their skin to be, "not as dark." This was taught to them by their Mormon parents.
First of all you claim to at one time being a fundamentalist..whatever you claimed to have been I can tell by what u have just written you were never saved or filled w/the Holy Spirit..u may've attended church, but sitting on a pew does not in itself make u a christian. I don't like the word "fundamentalist" not sure who first coined that phrase, but it usually is implied you are "too religious". Now if u are a follower of Christ, the Holy Scripture, etc. How can u love Christ too much? con't:
wow, I didn't know my life was filled with paranoia. Thanks for enlightening me. ;)
And out of curiosity, if you saw a friend or family member in some danger - say drowning for instance - would it be guilt that causes you to try to save them or would you attribute that action to something else?
You can't stop the Antichrist, either, according to the book of Revelation. It says that any who struggle against the Beast will be killed...otherwise it wouldn't even be possible to be a prophecy. Other than that, you have way too simplistic of an idea of what real Christians are. Do I even have to start about the dangers of secularism? You can't point at a major world problem and demonstrate that a belief in Jesus Christ caused it. You can do that for secular beliefs.
Fundamentalism: the belief that a = a. Dangerous! I guess we should worship money and appearances, then. You will worship something, after all, and base your life around something. You don't have a choice in that. You can, however, base your life around something better than this secular world. This assessment of "televangelists" is not accurate, among other things. Most of them follow money and popularity to get on TV. No one preaches the literal Bible on TV.
...You also assume that being taught by a pastor is a bad thing. Why is this?
3. Christian doctrine does not say that the antiChrist is the devil made into a man.
4. Very few believe that their pastor has 100% infallible interpretations. Where do you get this stuff?
5. Not all fundamentalsits come from a dispensational background. You seem to have a very particular experience that is not necessarily true of all "fundamentalists."
@elderaps When you believe should do everything he says its wrong......your becoming their slaves...and then ask your self..What does God want for me what hes says..or what God says?????
@Ms05Stevie That sentence was pretty incoherent, so I'm not sure how to respond. All I'm saying is that 30shekels' presentation had some pretty serious factual flaws in it, so his argument is flawed as well.
1. Not all leaders will claim to have special revelations from God. This is not necessarily part of evangelicalism.
2. Just because one is non-denominational doesn't mean that they can not learn from a pastor, or a televangelsit. I'm not sure what listening to an evangelist has to do with being non denominational. The two aren't related.
3. Independent normally refers to a philosophy of cooperation with other churches or associations. You also assume that...
The reason why I believe in Christianity is because things in the Old Testament don't make sense IF Christianity is a lie. By the way, IF you feel the stuff presented here is proof that Christian beliefs are dangerous, you'll piss your pants when you study Islam. SO much, that I bet you won't dare make a video that says "Fundamentalist Muslims; What meaks their beliefs dangerous". For one thing, Fundamentalist Christians are told to NOT bring on the end times, unlike Ahmadinajad.
The reason why I believe in Christianity is because things in the Old Testament don't make sense IF Christianity is a lie. @rapturereadyguy Ummm... no. God is a non-existent sky tyrant. If it were real, it would be our duty as humans to destroy it. Free your mind. Give up god... for good.
@Nashhinton So, this is based purely on a spelling error, this rage you have? You really do need all words spelled correctly, every time? Is that how it works. I've seen a lot of you spelling Nazi's, and I just wanted to hear from one what it was like to care MOSTLY about spelling errors.
This is chocked full of distortions and half-truths. Bible believers don't believe in ongoing revelation nor do we believe everything in the Bible's literally true. Christians don't believe God has wings and a 10 headed dragon will rule the earth. Either the creator of this vid is Bible-ignorant or he's a fraudulent liar. Which is it, shekels?
@filoIII On "Bible believers don't believe in ongoing revelation nor do we believe everything in the Bible's literally true." -- Unfortunately, I had observed an entire church that does in fact, take the Bible literally. Cornerstone Ministries, lead by Maury Davis. I've listened to several of his "sermons" and frankly, I couldn't get out the door fast enough.
Sane, stable Christians? I know plenty of them too, and respect 'em.
95% of American "Christians" don't even know the meaning of the word, they are hypocrites; always first to support racism, intolerance of all kinds, abuses against people's liberty, war, genocide, etc. They're the most ethically corrupt segment of society. Christ taught love and compassion for all, and especially those who may be lost, not hate, discrimination & abuse.
American "Christians" = some of the worst scum on the planet, almost as disgusting & morally bankrupt as Israel's Zionists.
@karlkarlkarl1234 maybe that's because their leader, Yaweh, spends the entire first half the Bible endorsing all those terrible qualities you just listed. Could that be why? Nah.
@Menak666 Ok. You did not actually read what I wrote. I was saying that stop signs and murdering provide REAL and Physical punishments for violating those things. They are not abstract or spiritual...etc. Car crash....physical....prison...physical punishment. Human actions are dictated by the real world not so called laws of morality from a god. I am not sure what you are arguing here as you really just agreed with me.
That was well put Michael. As I'm sure you know that was a mild touch on the dangers of fundamentalism. ALL fundamentalism is a danger that could completely destroy humanity regardless of the sect it is applied to. IF YOU DON'T THINK FOR YOURSELF, YOU ARE WORKING TO DESTROY MANKIND.
That is probably the strongest statement I have ever made.
Thank you for this video. I happen to be a recovering ex-fundamentalist who is gay and slowly coming to terms of my sexuality. Fundamentalists would use straight men who "overcame homosexuality" to lure in any gullible, guilt ridden and vulnerable GLBT person to join their group, then when there is a "falling away from grace," then they were told that they do not pray or fast enough, that they were never "saved" in the first place, that they do not meet their quota, etc.
Well Micheal, we certainly do agree on the absurdity of this premillennial dispensational nonsense that is plaguing the church in America today. Likewise it is unbiblical to hold that God is still working through prophets on the earth. In fact there is a strict warning in the book of Revelation that deals with adding prophecy to the revealed word of God (22:18). God has spoken to us in these last days by His Son (Heb. 1:2). Backsliding is a legitimate concern, but salvation is solely of the Lord
@bengphoenix hello. I was just wonderign about the statement you made on how there are no more prophets on this earth now in present times. I forgot where in the Bible I read this, but it was speaking of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how some will have the gift of prophecy, some of tongues, and the last one the interpretation of tongues. . Do you believe that still applies to the present day and if so how does it go along with revelation 22?? by the way, I'm not a fundamentalisst .
@LiaBSakura I guess I'm not really a fundamentalist either, depending on the definition. The verse you're talking about is 1 Corinthians 12:29, which speaks about the gifts given to the church. I believe prophecy is still being proclamed today, but not in the form of new revelations. The Book of Revelation makes this clear in two different places: 19:10, which states that the testimony of Jesus IS the spirit of prophecy, and 22:18 which warns of judgement for adding to Scripture.
@bengphoenix Ohhhh. Thank you so much for this! I'd been hearing people debating over this a lot recently and I was told I have that last gift. The translating or interpreting or whatever it's called. But yeah whenever I would understand something in tongues it would be something in the Bible already so what you're saying completely makes sense. . You don't have any idea the confusion and debate you saved me from!
What part of the Bible is intellectually lacking? What "facts" are you speaking of that Christians ignore? Are there "facts" that refute the validity of the Bible? There has never been a single verifiable "fact" that has contradicted the Bible when Scripture is interpreted correctly. Some answers may yet to be found, possibly, but there is no "proof" against the God of the Bible.
@bengphoenix 1. All of it. 2. Age of the earth, biological, physical, archaeological evidence 3. No slaves in egypt, no evidence of a global flood, no artifacts that support biblical stories, egyptian records that refute the exodus claim and story, roman records that discount a lot of the old and new testement... I could go on but I think I answered your three questions. And you are right. I cannot disprove god. But, you cannot prove him either. Burden of proof is on you though...not me.
A belief in Christ does not guarantee, or even promise any sort of certainty in life. In fact the only promise that God makes for a Christian in this life is that they will suffer and be persecuted. But those who believe will continue to do so because we trust in the promises of God. God raised up Christ from the dead to the glory of His name, and will likewise raise up all who believe in him unto life everlasting. That is the truth, and its worth dieing for.
@xSirEdwinx No, but you make a very good point. Christians are not the only ones who have to contend with fundamentalist thinkers. And they are very dangerous as well.
They are controlling the right, and the crazy people in it think that liberals are evil and working for the devil, there are fundies calling for a civil war to take aerica back and Goddesss help us i think its likely. If that happens UN will label america a faleds state and take over or our enmeies will nuke us, if the fundies don't nuke someone else first, once one bomb is set off ww3 begins and l.asts a few hours, they are insane and being driven by conspiacy nuts like alex jones and van impe
I find those who accept Biblical Scripture as absolutely literal just as crazy as those who claim that ancient writings are all completely false and contain no knowledge or disclosure.
Well, this is very well done, but I must point out that there are good reasons to criticize the UN that have nothing to do with religious belief.
My particular objection to the UN is that it is a platform for those who despise the US to denounce us on our soil at our expense. Also that we joined alongside the USSR. And the Monroe Doctrine.
As for Israel, it's founding is worthy of criticism, but it remains the only democracy in that part of the world. It's worth defending for that.
@666Pestilince666 look, i don't know you, but if i had to guess, i'd say we both came to this video for basically the same reason, and furthermore i would agree with you about 95% of the way, but you should be careful about "hate" and also about "absolutes", (only a sith deals in absolutes haha) but seriously, there are decent people of faith in the world, remember to make your decesions based on the individual and not the group don't allow yourself to be brought down to their level of prejudice
This video was clearly made by a retarded person. Many of the things mentioned are the opposite of fundamentalism. Every statement lacks any contextual definition. What does the word revelation? What's wrong with wanting to know? Only a retarded person isn't terrified of the unknown. 30shekels probably works at McDonalds and only has to know how to make french fries.
@MrDevilBunny This guy knows what i'm talking about. If we compile all Scientist in the same manor they do Christians, they wouldn't be too happy about it either. They can even be summed up in the same way, they also receive revelations from their leaders. They're not worried about being mislead since it's ok to be wrong or even completely clueless until there is some new revelation from science. I at least have ability of being in the know instead of retarded until further notice
@knowwaie "only a retarded person isn't scared of the unknown"? do what now? you don't remember anything before you were born, right? no one does, right? so whats so scary about returning to that state after life? the ten billion (or whatever #) doesn't scare you before you were alive does it? then why would another ten billion years after you/us scare you? and, i don't think, if there is a god, that he wants you to "fear" the unknown...
@RapedByRepublicans and anyway, its not faith thats a problem, or even relegion, per se. the problem is people who use organized relegion to control the small minded among us who are afraid, they use that fear to craft you in their (not god's) image. that, is the problem, not the faith itself, the people who practice it that allow themselves to be led by others. everyone has the right to their own beliefs, no matter how much they differ from mine, we just need to respect one anothers autonomy
@RapedByRepublicans that's what the uneducated person says because they don't fuly understand what all these religions are about, not do they understand the true origins of these religions. You're right about the "control" factor, but there's much more to it a certain race of people who have given them a title analogous to the Aryan Super race, in the books that they wrote and slaughtered millions for, but it's still even more than a race thing. Go to the site I posted.
Why do Fund. Xians think they have a right to vote on liberties extended to a minority? I wonder if they demanded this w/ Civil Rights or Interracial Marriage? Sadly. they try to defend themselves w/, "I'm not a bigot! I'm just voting to define 'marriage'!", and other fallacious claims that don't hold to reasoning. Maggie Gallagher has even said, ""I am the one who is standing for the right of American taxpayers not to have a union, same-sex unions treated as marriage without their consent"
Revelation is about the "Revelation" of Jesus Christ. His revealing to the world and the things that happen immediately prior to that. The pre-trib Rapture theory is held by some fundamentalists called Dispensationalist, not by all. Anti-Christ isn't a target the Bible teaches can be stopped. Every modern leader has spoken about a NWO. Isreal has a powerful lobby which is why they get special treatment. Christ did not advocate violence, neither do "fundies".
Or, fundamentalists simply are convinced the Bible is a truthful testimony by many men who were witnessing to the things done by God around them. No terror, incompleteness, or denial about it. You are making a circular argument concerning certainty. However, agree that most are spoon fed believers and very immature in their understanding.
This could be fun if you were in just the right position. I think most Christians are a joke too. But then I find most evolutionists to be equally funny. Both claim to be able to "prove" their case but if they actually knew anything about investigation or research, they'd know that when you claim to be able to "prove" something, you're painting a target on your back. Lawyers don't even try that. They concentrate more on, "what a reasonable person would believe". You would NOT do well in court.
@amzuel420 Wich is why a "evolutionists" would not work with prof, prof is for math. Evolution is based on Evidence. If though someone is trying to prove something to you then rest assured its merely a layman term.
Also; you find evolutionists equally funny because of this one thing or more things? I´d love to hear if you have more.
@rv186rs Well first, in everything I've found, all the "evidence" would probably fit in one of my suitcases. People talk about "evidence" all the time but you never see any. I told one person that for me the problem was too many, might haves, it's possible that....could have beens. When it comes right down to it, you can't prove anything more than Christians...whom I trust less than evolutionists. I don't know that we were created or evolved but both sides are far from "proof".
@amzuel420 "both sides are far from "proof"." stop jabbering about proof, math deals with proof not evolution. All the "might haves" etc are a result of that people are modest as that, they do not claim certainty couse they can't prove it, just like nothing else. Have you bothered looking for evidence even? Or are you just jammering couse no1 has served it to you in the comments of a video on another topic, read "the greatest show on earth".
@rv186rs I'm sure by referring to people's comments as "jabbering", you must be trying to win friends and influence people. I don't really go for that so I'll just "assume" you are not someone I'm interested in talking to. When you have a point, let me know.
@amzuel420 I have not been making a point as I have been trying to determine weather you are just lazy or maybe if you are worth a longer attention span to provide some of mentioned evidence. I might have misused jabbering, I did quiet mean whining so I went for jabbering instead.
@rv186rs Well...you go ahead and decide if I'm lazy or just not worth the time or space...whatever you say....we'll just go ahead and go with that....have nice day.
thanx a lot for this piece. i really don't feel like I'm alone in that thought. I use to be a fundamentalist as well. I now understand but feel sorry for them that are trapped in the dangerous cycle of fundamentalism.
Why is there no ability to "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" the comments? I love watching how the fundies thumbs down any comments critical of their beliefs.
I myself was also raise in a Evangelical Christian home. -----CHECK THIS OUT ------some other things required to be a Christian. 1.helping the poor, not just sending money so they can survive on rice and bread. 2 learning to love everyone equally, especially those who are opposed to what you believe. 3 testing your faith and learning to think on your own? I did those things and im not Christian anymore because I did what the Bible said. Maybe God did inspire it just not like you think... lol
If the blueprints to a single type of house were given to thirty capenters and they built thirty different houses from the same prints, you would say the prints are faulty in a number of ways. There are over 30 bible-reading christian sects, but no one wonders how the same book gets such different religious traditions.
i agreed with all you presented except the NWO stuff. They(our leaders) talk about it openly now. NWO is real, so is the illuminati, satan himself(rothschild).
The sky's will fall, etc, then satan will reveal himself(however it goes), the only reason i would think that the Lucifer Project has any merit is the bible link. What better way to "prove" the bible is real than to make the biggest event predicted in the bible occur? That would cement all the god zombies of the world.
@iluvameriduh GROW UP KID. your freedom to speak here has been removed due to the fact that you speak before you understand. It is very clear, since your think (Rothschild) is Satan/Antichrist. Next you'll be one of those who think its the POPE. Then you'll think its Sunday Worship. Then you might think its simply a false image of Gods love for us all. No matter which trail you decide to take, you wont find the truth until your honest within. Its all man made, but our creator is real.
I'd have to agree that Christians get a lot of stuff wrong and in many ways we've become a very messed up demographic because of these bad philosophies concerning life. However, not all Christians adhere to the ideology mentioned in this video. For instance, many of us don't believe that the book of Revelation is prophetic but rather historical. and some of us have been consumed with love and tolerance for all people. I love Christ and do not agree with omgamicarnal. I'm uninterested in arguing
Thank you for your thoughtful analysis. While your observations revolve around Christian Fundamentalism, I think they are a good tool to apply to any absolutist belief, whether theological, political, etc. Anyone who is convinced that their knowledge is complete and will never require correction or revision is claiming that they are omniscient and omnipotent, IOW gods themselves. Reading Scripture, Einstein or Marx etc. doesn't make you the equal of the author
30shekels, thanks for explaining the 'why's' of fundamentalism. I grew up in a fundamentalist household and was emotionally and spiritually abused by my parents. Your three reasons explaining why people become fundies has helped me understand why my parents are the way they are and why I do not need that kind of outlook. Thanks.
@starling317 it feel good to break free from that, doesn't it. I still believe in our Creator, because its obvious, through science that we are not just here by accident, but its also quite obvious that if we follow religious teachings, even the Bible that we are getting away from it. Its interesting how there are those of us who feel pulled away like we have. Sometimes I wonder are we the true called ones? Either way its so much easier to breath without all that fear and guilt. Take Care
The point is all you sinners want to just keep sinning, having sex, smoking, drinking, loving tv, idols, whatever, its all human nature, and satanism believes to do whatever you want, so walk your sins with you into hell because if you do not repent and follow the one who saved you from those sins because he was a propitiation you have what you want and thats earthly things. the bible is divinely inspired proved by hundreds of prophecies that came true. something that no other book has ever had
@ omg- I love it when thumpers say, "all you sinners just want to sin etc etc". According to you fundies, Jesus died for your sins. The ones in your past, the ones you are committing currently, and also the ones in the future. A very convenient, built in, "get out of sin FREE card". You can basically do whatever, whenever...... thanks to JESUS ! Sin every day, it's ok ! You're Christian ! Praise Jeebus, Glory, Hallelujah in the name of the Holy Spirit !!!!! pass the plate.
exactly thats what you have wrong, as a born again believer in our savior Jesus Christ, I do not manifest sin - like sin in the 1st degree? I do not smoke, drink, cuss, fornicate, lie, hate, etc. etc. I have seen the power of God felt the Holy Spirit and know that if I am to love a holy God i must hate sin. So sorry no get out of sin free card, I am freed from sin altogether
Don't play sneaky little crafty word games Christian. "Freed" from from sin or "Free from sin" ? Either way you are a sinner. Stop the self delusion. Let go of the dirty security blanket and stop the thumbsucking. There is no God, and if there is he is a genocidal maniac (Haiti). Reconcile that.
Reconcile? It's known that Satan is ruling until Christ Jesus comes back for the end judgement. And either way I am not a sinner, it might have taken me months and months but Jesus has regenerated my heart to hate sin, yea I am tempted to s

Fundamentalism puts together FUN and MENTAL into one word! There is something in that for all of us I think!

(Con) America, however, isn't and hasn't had to up until 2001. I'm not saying our military is weak, just hasn't been under threat like Israel. Also, we have had some wars that we don't like to talk about, i.e. Viet Nam and Korea. We didn't come out of those conflicts very well.
My point is, we don't fuck with Israel because they could whoop our ass. That, and they are our only, true, ally in the Middle East.
HimesInu 6 months ago
I have one disagreement with you, 30shekels. And it is on the Israel comment. I'm a third generation Airmen, so I have a little insight on military strength. At least, I think I do. The reason we don't mess with Israel isn't a religious reason, though that may have a little to do with it. Instead, it's a military reason. Since Israel was formed, the Israeli military has never lost a fight. And because they are surrounded by enemies, they are constantly having to strengthen their army. (TBC)

If so, we're all in for an interesting future.

prewrathrapture333 8 months ago
@2:41 where in the world does the bible say that the devil is made into a man?and for ur info, the antichrist is kind of a sub plot.the book of revelation is actually mainly about the revelation of JESUS CHRIST and HIS return.and i imagine all the books of the bible are incredibly vague to you, because u seem to know NOTHING about them.actually, after careful study, revelation becomes quite clear.

@2:04-if u are non-denominational,then u have most likely started a church on ur own without the authority of an established church body.that is against fundamental bible doctrine.if you are watching today's televangelist,u are NOT a fundamentalist because they are almost always pentecostal charismatics who are anything but biblically fundamental.i havent seen a fundamental non denominational church yet!they are full of false bibles, false doctrine, false prophecy and false teaching.

recieving new revelation by"hearing from God"is NOT fundamental bible teaching-thats more new age charismatic.

@1:31-most christians that i know are extreamly satisfied happy people with very fulfilling lives and careers.i really dont know where this guy gets his info, but i bet he had a huge urge to make this vid and didnt feel fulfilled until he made it.he says u have to be terrified of the unknown to be a christian, but feels our beliefs are somehow a danger to him.i dont see funies running around bombing people-yea there's ur occasional nut out there, but violence is NOT a fundy bible teaching.
prewrathrapture333 8 months ago
as far as being terrified of the unknown,i for one have found a peace thru life's storms that i never had until i was saved, while others are freaking out,i at times was able to remain calm.i noticed that my nxiety level was directly proportional to my prayer life and bible reading.u cant tell me non believers dont get anxious when going thru tradgedies where they arent sure wuts going to happen.
prewrathrapture333 8 months ago
@1:23 u really cant say this statement about an entire group of people.i for one get alot of satisfaction by examining my christian beliefs.actually,i find that more non-believers exhibit more of a lack of belief examination.think about it,non believers usually try to avoid talking or even thinking about their death until faced with it.my wife works in a nursing home and alot of people who are otherwise non religious, start asking her alot of questions about Christ when they're close to death.
prewrathrapture333 8 months ago

Nothing could be further from the truth.
sweetsweatyfeet 10 months ago
The dangerous thing about fundamentalists of any of the 3 hate spewing abrahamic religions is percieved admonishment of personal responsibility; they believe any action is justified if it has been endorsed by their sky spook. The results are intolerance, terrorism, murder of doctors, child molestation and unrestrained bigotry and racism.
A lot of truly evil power-hungry despots take full advantage of this group paranoia too.

CrownIdeas 11 months ago
There is no 'palestine', which is why the A-rabs occupying Israel are demanding one.
There is a land called Israel, and Jesus said
"When you see these things come to pass, Let those that are in Judea flee to the hills in that day"-look it up. The only place that has a "Judea" is Israel- stop showing your biblical ignorance.
Looks like you must be an Islamic-Jihadist, since they, and the left wingers are the ones who say that Israel is 'non-existant'
Turn to God, you are far from him now.
TheWWWJTFORG 11 months ago
@CrownIdeas
TheWWWJTFORG 11 months ago
@TheWWWJTFORG Look, I have nothing against a nation of Israel in the middle east. What I am saying is that the People of God Jew and Gentile are in the Church no matter where they live. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.. Gal.3:28 Also read Eph. 2:11-22 Which I would write out if there was room. Basically it uses 3 metaphors 1 Gents are brought into nation Israel 2. He has made Jews and Gent one new man 3 we are a holy temple

That is that name Fundamentalist or extremeists right there.
oleku4life 1 year ago
First and foremost, I dont understand why this has turn into a hate and cussing thing. It's all about what you do or do not believe in. Why are most people upset about the "OBSERVATIONS of a Fundamentalist" I am a Christian, born again, spirit filled, and all but this does not make me mad. I know what I have believed and why I believe it. 30 Shekels Must have his reasons for believing what he does. Even the Bible says in Isaiah " come let us reason together".

con't: who's everyday thoughts are on wickedness, selfishness, evil desires, etc.

Thanks for mentioning Manifest Destiny.

How can u love Christ too much? con't:

You can't stop the Antichrist, either, according to the book of Revelation. It says that any who struggle against the Beast will be killed...otherwise it wouldn't even be possible to be a prophecy. Other than that, you have way too simplistic of an idea of what real Christians are. Do I even have to start about the dangers of secularism? You can't point at a major world problem and demonstrate that a belief in Jesus Christ caused it. You can do that for secular beliefs.
Lachdenan 1 year ago
Fundamentalism: the belief that a = a. Dangerous! I guess we should worship money and appearances, then. You will worship something, after all, and base your life around something. You don't have a choice in that. You can, however, base your life around something better than this secular world. This assessment of "televangelists" is not accurate, among other things. Most of them follow money and popularity to get on TV. No one preaches the literal Bible on TV.

a few obejctions continued again ...
Furthermore, fundamentalists do not believe that you can stop the antichrist, because they believe he is going to come. This makes no sense.
Again, you seem to be referring only to dispensational Christians when you speak of the rapture and Israel. This isn't a majority of evangelicals.
You get it wrong again. Historic Christian doctrine does not teach that you can lose your salvation.
Sorry dude, you've misunderstood fundamentalism.
elderaps 1 year ago
a few objections continued....
...You also assume that being taught by a pastor is a bad thing.

@Ms05Stevie That sentence was pretty incoherent, so I'm not sure how to respond. All I'm saying is that 30shekels' presentation had some pretty serious factual flaws in it, so his argument is flawed as well.
elderaps 1 year ago
A few objections:

1:2). Backsliding is a legitimate concern, but salvation is solely of the Lord
bengphoenix 1 year ago
@bengphoenix hello. I was just wonderign about the statement you made on how there are no more prophets on this earth now in present times. I forgot where in the Bible I read this, but it was speaking of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how some will have the gift of prophecy, some of tongues, and the last one the interpretation of tongues. . Do you believe that still applies to the present day and if so how does it go along with revelation 22?? by the way, I'm not a fundamentalisst .
LiaBSakura 1 year ago
@LiaBSakura I guess I'm not really a fundamentalist either, depending on the definition. The verse you're talking about is 1 Corinthians 12:29, which speaks about the gifts given to the church. I believe prophecy is still being proclamed today, but not in the form of new revelations. The Book of Revelation makes this clear in two different places: 19:10, which states that the testimony of Jesus IS the spirit of prophecy, and 22:18 which warns of judgement for adding to Scripture.
bengphoenix 1 year ago

Some answers may yet to be found, possibly, but there is no "proof" against the God of the Bible.
bengphoenix 1 year ago

You would NOT do well in court.
amzuel420 1 year ago
@amzuel420 Wich is why a "evolutionists" would not work with prof, prof is for math. Evolution is based on Evidence. If though someone is trying to prove something to you then rest assured its merely a layman term.
Also; you find evolutionists equally funny because of this one thing or more things? I´d love to hear if you have more.
rv186rs 1 year ago
@rv186rs Well first, in everything I've found, all the "evidence" would probably fit in one of my suitcases. People talk about "evidence" all the time but you never see any. I told one person that for me the problem was too many, might haves, it's possible that....could have beens. When it comes right down to it, you can't prove anything more than Christians...whom I trust less than evolutionists. I don't know that we were created or evolved but both sides are far from "proof".
amzuel420 1 year ago
@amzuel420 "both sides are far from "proof"." stop jabbering about proof, math deals with proof not evolution. All the "might haves" etc are a result of that people are modest as that, they do not claim certainty couse they can't prove it, just like nothing else. Have you bothered looking for evidence even? Or are you just jammering couse no1 has served it to you in the comments of a video on another topic, read "the greatest show on earth".

However, not all Christians adhere to the ideology mentioned in this video.
