I don't know how this test was conducted, since the video does not show the material being put in (is that adhesive?), but this test sure does not reproduce nature. I replaced the toilets in my house several years ago with Cimarron class 5's (they were on clearance because the Class 6 had just come out) and they work fantastic. I have a family of 5, and in a period of several years these toilets have seen it all, and they flush away the mess like nobody's business. I would buy this toilet again.
Thank you for saving me a ton of money and time in shopping for 7 toilets! What a great demonstration! Who has the time to wait around and reflush their damn toilet! You would have to be careful being too close to my fathers' toilet in Belgium as it would SUCK YOU DOWN INTO IT if you didn't move away quick enough! I SHOULD HAVE taken NOTE as to the brand name. There is NO WAY IN HELL I will purchase a Kohler if this is how it performs! I HATE WASTING BLEACH ON TOILETS! THANKS!
This is the WORST toilet I have ever lived with. (So this video is dead on-thanx!) As demonstrated the RINSING action is very POOR. You have to flush this toilet 4 or 5 times to clear it. So you would be better off with a 5 gallon Crane wallhanger! Kohler claims this is a great "Bulk" flusher, i.e., you can flush a lot of material down in one flush. But if you have an older cast iron system you are SURE TO RUN INTO PROBLEMS!. A better choice is the Kohler Rialto, or a Crane wallhanger.
No other tool like Youtube to expose the defects of manufacturers' products IN SPITE of what they or their representatives claim. And you say that Ashley told you that's how it was SUPPOSED to flush? That's more a reflection on Ashley who as a Kohler representative is supposed to know her stuff than on your supposed "stupidity" in buying a toilet that you had EVERY INTELLIGENT RIGHT to expect would work per the famous reputation of who you bought it from.
I have this exact same model, Cimarron Class 5, elongated, and have absolutely no problems with flushing like this video shows. I bought it on clearance at Home Depot for $160. Glad to only be using 1.4-1.6 gallons per flush instead of the 4-5 gallons of our previous toilets.
American Standard Champion 4 flushes much better than this. If you like Kohler specifically try the new Wellworth (or Highline) Pressure lite. It can probably out flush anything you match to it. It will be my next addition
I have installed both the drake and the cimarron, and I think both of them don"t flush worth a damn. Plus the Drake is a little high in price. The only thing good about the cimarron is the mounting system. In my opinion the best bang for your buck is the any of the Gerber line of toilet's, they are low in cost but have a good flush and go together easy, And if you take out the 1.6 gallon flapper and put a regular korkey flapper in it gives you an even better flush.
Then you have to account for water coming in from the overflow tube that is wasted because the bowl is already refilled which would make a flush where you hold down the handle around 2.5 gal.
Kohler contacted me last week and apparently they have a new Class 6 flush technology which includes a rim wash. I should be getting this toilet from them within the next couple of weeks to try out. I am looking forward to it.
When you get your new kohler toilet, make a video of it......one more comment.........I seen the toto toilet videos on youtube, and the toto has the same flush, it's not "class 5", but the water goes down in the same way....Kohler probably tried to copy toto.....
I have a question for you.........When you get your new kohler "Class 6" toilet, are you going to make a video of it and put it up on youtube?.......Make sure you do....Post a response....Thanks
I just installed a Kohler Cimarron 11466 and if you let the lever up right away you get an eco-flush (for urine alone), you need to hold the lever down to get the full flush.
Oddly it doesn't say this anywhere on the packaging or in the manual.
The tank can't hold 3.5 gallons, the max is 2 and only if you manually change the float setting inside it. If more than 2 gal is put into the tank it just drains out over the center cylinder.
Press the lever and let go right away and about 1/2 gallon is dropped into the tank. Hold the lever and 1.6 gallons drop; the full flush.
Actually when you press and release it releases slightly more than a gallon into the bowl. That water is filled back up in the tank (about 1.1 gal). The remaining 0.5 gal fill up the bowl from the overflow tube. So really about 1.1 gal is used to flush the bowl and the remaining 0.5 is bowl refill. Holding down the handle will release almot 2 gal of water in the bowl. Then 0.5 for refill which would be about 2.3 gal.
Wow thats poor Water Surface. These newer toilets that are like this such as this, and other non-swirl toilets don't have great water surfaces. I am not shure about the Washdown type such as the Tywford, or Armitage Shanks.

because its not ment to do that. when u hold down the handle, ur using 3.5 gallons. regularly 1.6

quaestor1968 3 years ago
no ur wrong. thats not a dual flush. 1.6 is when u let go right away. holding it down uses 3-3.5 gallons of water
shawtiee1085 3 years ago
What's wrong with you? I measured the tank capacity, it doesn't even hold 3 gallons so it can't possibly be dumping that amount into the bowl.
quaestor1968 3 years ago
no whats wrong with u? if u hold the handle down it keeps on dumping water
shawtiee1085 3 years ago
Press and release dumps 1/2 gallon, hold for 2-3 seconds you get the tank contents, 1.6 gallons.
Stand there holding the lever for minutes and sure you'll be draining water directly from the feed line but that is not what anyone is talking about.
How that is beyond your comprehension is puzzling unless you're trolling for some pathetic reason.
quaestor1968 3 years ago
who told u that? ur mentally retarded
shawtiee1085 3 years ago
Actually when you press and release it releases slightly more than a gallon into the bowl. That water is filled back up in the tank (about 1.1 gal). The remaining 0.5 gal fill up the bowl from the overflow tube. So really about 1.1 gal is used to flush the bowl and the remaining 0.5 is bowl refill. Holding down the handle will release almot 2 gal of water in the bowl. Then 0.5 for refill which would be about 2.3 gal.

A good dump would require 6-7 flushes.
