  • Are passing chords good to use when you already have the chords to the song?

  • Never heard anyone explain how to apply the tritone as a passing chord like this. I can't wait to get home and try it!

  • dope bruh!

  • You are an excellent pianist! do you play in a jazz group or church band?

  • wow thank you bro this was sssssssssssssooooooooooooooooo helpful :)

  • why in Cm u use B tritone not A tritone just wnt to know..

  • @TheEli1963 It just sounds better to me, and remember your chord has to accommodate whatever the bass nite maybe. In this case it could be G, B, or C#

  • Great video.!!

  • fucking spot on!! :)

  • thanks Bro, superbbbbb

  • Appreciated bruv

  • What notes did you press for your Abm?

  • very cool. i'll have to work on it, but you delivered the basic idea for me to get started on using those tritones for passing chords. thanks much.

  • great information but hey how about if you want to get to a major chord what tritone do you use

  • thank u very very much

  • man your genius... i finally get it now after watching the vid like 5 times in diffrent weeks... that was outstanding bro... keep it up....GOD bless you...

  • Thanks for this video my man

  • Thanks for the response. You seem to be using the tritones whist playing around a few minor chords. In a jazz context, playing consecutive minor chords like that can be quite rare. Any chance of demonstrating using tritones in more of a jazz context? ie, 2-5-1's, 2-5-2-5's, 3-6-2-5-1's etc etc

  • Nice tips, sounds lovely but how do you know which triad on top of the tritone you're gonna use? Is it just a case of getting used to all the different ones and using your ears?

  • @granthunt First off thanks for the comment, now this is only one way to use the tritone. I prefer this particular voicing to get to a minor chord. I'll post more variations on using them later. You can also try a major triad with your right hand and play the third and dom7 with the left. exam. G major, and F-C with the left. Common blues or old gospel voicing.

  • Good teaching brother. By the way, what kind of piano sound are you using bcuz I have the same keyboard

  • @renald005 Im using the Live Grand sound

  • can you do more explaining some tritones and other passing techniques? You are very good at explaining....you are an excellent teacher too. thanks.

  • GOD Bless YOU Bro! For Yrs i tried to understand HOW TO USE TRITONES AND U EXPLAINED IT. Thanks A lot Bro! Everyone else jus show it in songs but never explained it. I am very grateful, and my heart is filled with JOY lol Thanks again bro

  • @kimroy20 Thanks alot

  • Nice Idea, caue when t I go to 6 I go Down chromatic and sounds good with tritons

  • You just inspired me to write again bro!! Thanks....

  • good job. i found this really helpful as im a musician wanting to add variety to my style of play. other uses of tritones would be really appreciated

  • That was the best explanation of tritones ever! Now i get it

  • @skylineandcorvette wow thanks

  • hey paris this erica courtney is a evil piano teacher

  • Thanks!! That was very helpful!! I always wondered how to form a tritone with the proper chords!!!

  • @ROMANTICLOVE09 Glad I could help, but also remember that this is only tritones as passing tones, it's many other ways to form them.

  • @maetro2 I would really love to learn more about tritones because I see in modern contemporary music they are used in almost every song...
