DS launch was particulary sparse too and doesn't need lines cause of the larger quantities but even so it still sell like hot cakes. It's great that people know that they can pick one up back home. But one thing I expect next year is the same impact DVD had in 2000 blu-ray is gonna have it at FFXIII launch in December where people will start to see the value of blu-ray.
fail? This was actually a workday and there were larger quantities this time around which made people pick one up back home with commute train. DVD was founded in 1995 and released in 1996 in Japan but didn't become rather cheap until in 2000 when PS2 was launched and was the year when people picked up a PS2 at 39800 Yen at launch and in the fall at 29800 Yen. I expect a same impact for blu-ray sales next year because it will be 4 years since it was released on the market.
i heard most of the units were pre-ordered and the gundam bundle sold out. success.
